  4. Whoa, that greenhouse is way cool. Who knows, maybe they would have spent the money to give the Pontiac version a different rear half of the greenhouse. I also like those wheels. Your nose, though, is a bit too clearly Toro. I wonder what would happen if you put vertical bars in your signals to match your grille, extend the grille seamlessly into the signals (like the '71 B-body), made your arrowhead just a tad bigger, erased the white cornering lights and just leave an amber marker, and blackout the white stripe in the bumper rubstrips? The sum of those small changes just might be enough, if I may presume to offer a critique in Drew's thread.
  5. Very clever, Clarice.
  6. I thought I saw the guy look toward his truck for a sec as he was unlocking that door. Maybe not. Amazing vid.
  7. ? tighter
  8. A two-door hatch with the look of a coupe (separate deck line, not just a wedge) might work.
  9. A used Cobalt? Seriously, I just hope GM's upcoming tiny cars (Aveo and eventual Spark) are fun to drive, priced appreciably below their own compacts and show a great fuel economy number. I really truly feel the Spark is too trendy, too ugly and will have a short shelf life. The new European VW Polo is mature, substantial and modern without being trendy... and with TDI power, it gives stratospheric fuel mileage. I guarantee it is not a penalty box, but a fun to drive, solid Volkswagen, if past history is any indicator. GM's tiny car history is abysmal in comparison here in the US, at the very least. Sprint, Metro, Aveo... who cares?
  10. Take good care.
  11. I know if I drove one I'd be in the same boat. I've always loved the way a VW drove, going back to the first one I got behind the wheel of... a '67 Beetle, light blue/white interior that belonged to a cousin of mine. For reverse, press down on the shifter and up to the left, even back then. Darn you and your joy spreading, Mr. Golden.
  12. That's pretty much what I was saying over at Autoblog but ppl were misunderstanding me and jumping on my ass.
  13. transvestite
  14. It's OK I guess, I think it looks too much like a Mazda 3 around the rear quarters. I hope the sedan has the sporty wheels and interior trim of this hatchback when we get it. What is a "six speed CVT"?
  15. Oh man, love to see the streets clogged with the Big Three.

  17. May I introduce to you... the Kappa Nomad... sigh...
  18. Gives me the willys, makes me think he's driving an ice cream truck in that avatar.
  19. American version of the Escort came in for model year 1981, so yeah, Pinto was 1971-1980.
  20. I would take a white 3-door with zero options. As far as colour availability, I'd guess white, silver, gray, black metallic and red (let me know if I'm right, Mr. Golden)... I wish there were a green and a blue.
  21. With the upcoming Cruze at 40 mpg... why on earth would anyone sacrifice their safety, comfort and coolness quotient by driving a Spark at, what, 42 mpg?
  22. Hey, it's rust-free.
  23. You have hit on my automotive schizophrenia like a laser guided missile (truck v. car). I love the newest GTI and would love to have one. The blobby look of the Mk V is gone with the reskin, and it's back to the sharpness. Enjoy it and please post photos!
