  1. How about a "blank" cover to snap in over the stereo after you remove the face plate? It will hide the stereo and make it look like you have no radio, just a piece of black plastic filling the void. I thought those stereos with face plates are rendered useless if the faceplate is removed, making it worthless to a thief. EDIT: how about a blank cover with a bunch of stereo wires hanging off of it? It will appear to potential thieves the radio is already stolen!
  2. "Rebuilt Title" means it was branded as a total loss and fixed, please stay away from that one.

    Eskimos

In the bear's stomach, egging it on.
  4. Serious question: how's it going with the assimilation over there? 20 years later, are there still issues, or is it as if the wall never existed?
  5. Local dealer has a Cyber Gray Camaro SS/RS with black hood and deck stripes. BG dealer has a secksi white Terrain SLT inside the showroom.
  6. The divider bar, rubber, and glass comes down with the run channel as a unit on most cars. The bar should be fastened inside the door somewhere. You'll likely need to gut the door to get it out, movable glass, regulator, etc. I think you can do it though. I've seen so many cars broken into through that stationary glass, it must be easier to break than movable glasses. The thief then reaches in, unlocks the door, and voila, he gains access. Good luck in getting it fixed quickly, as cardboard in the hole is even less of a deterrent.
  7. I haven't been back to the dealer I bought the Cobalt from since I bought it, no hard feelings at all, just they're 30 miles away. First oil change and steering column replacement was done at my former employer. Second maintenance was done at a small town dealer my dad's side of the family has bought cars from for decades. When I am ready to replace the Cobalt, I hope to go back there to buy and then have them maintain my truck.

  9. Well, to me, the taillights look like junior LaCrosse units.
  10. Changing names is a very sharp double-edged sword. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Ford 500? Pontiac G whatever? Lincoln MK whatever? Sometimes name recognition trumps some misguided need to break with the (successful) past. I'd be content if they called it a Skylark if they're not going with a new French/Swiss variation on another historic Buick name. Verano just doesn't sound right.
  11. It always becomes more interesting when there's a stick between the seat cushions.
  12. PONTIAC06, isn't it funny a lot of us want a coupe, but there IS no Insignia coupe, except as a hot concept car. Just like the Coupe60, GM dangles cool stuff and then snatches it away.
  13. cire, look a bit closer at the hood. It appears to me to be "bumps" on the hood in the same place as the new LaCrosse ventiports. This thing as a coupe in a sporty trim level could be cool with turbo 2.0/six speed auto. (I have even less hope for a manual transmission.)
  14. Happy Birthday, Drew.
  15. Well IIRC, if it is an Olds engine and it needs to be junked, you'll need to get a different transmission as well if you plan on fitting an SBC in its place, because of the bolt pattern.

    Eskimos

I bet Eskimos with big noses get kissed more often (probably sometimes accidentally if their schnozes are really out there). How unfair is that.
  17. The Onion, as always, brilliant. I look at it this way: their point with this piece is not to make fun of poor folks, but the state of the economy.
  18. Times like these I wish I had unlimited wampum.

    That's a clean '77. Their first 3 rounds of downsizing (B/C/D bodies in '77, A bodies in '78 and Es in '79) were very well-done, but then everything went to s h i t, starting with the '80 X-bodies.
  20. Oh yeah, on the Panamera, local dealer has one. Meh.

  22. Yesterday was the end of the line for my local Saturn dealer, they closed, according to a local television news report. They opened, I believe, in early '92. Parent company already closed their York, PA store, I know for sure, and I believe they have, or had, at least 2 other Saturn outlets (among other brands, including Chevrolet out of the local area). Very sad for the good employees who've gone through so many machinations through the years to represent GM's failed experiment, but probably smart for the parent company to stop now, rather than wait until the cold, lonely bitter end. At lunch yesterday I heard that my former employer, Chevy/BMW dealer, has bought the building for their BMW store, which is in a too-small, out-of-sight location. In turn, they have a For Sale sign in front of a piece of land they bought to build a new facility.
