    KIA VENGA

Well it looks more professional than the current Aveo. Hehe, reg, I think you misspelled the name of the car, though. Why'd you put that "n" in there?
  2. Who said "fapper"?
  3. I would feel much better buying a Porsche than an Aston Martin for the reliability factor. And The Cayman is my favorite Porsche. Hot.

  5. Gut feeling here is... go for it! She's a beauty.

  7. Holy $h!, Batman, it made me cry in the "death race" vid when everything fell silent except for the General Motors-made Cadillac Deville with the Northstar V8, and then to hear the mighty N* grab its last breath before finally expiring.

  9. Adding production at the Colorado/Canyon facility... cool! Also, my Cobalt has been pretty near flawless except for the steering issue, which is still fixed. At 11,500 miles so far, she's going strong. I've always read that if a part is going to break, it usually does so in the first 10,000 miles, so I am optimistic. People, buy Cobalts and Colorados!
  10. Looks like wicked fun to me!

  12. I see what you're saying, Satty. I too, hold out hope a chihuahua will fit in the CTS wagon's cargo area.

    Fish Sticks.

Well, z, I must clarify, I usually don't cut the fish filets into stick form, I just leave them whole and bread them. If you want to make actual, homemade fish sticks, I'd use a firm fish, like haddock or cod, cut them to suit, and bread with your own mixture. I usually buy tilapia or flounder for my purpose.
  14. I think car enthusiasts browsing the internet are googling the latest automotive news. That is a way for us to get some new people lured in off the street so they can get to know us. Ted's Chevrolet Orlando scoop is an example, we need to post GM news as soon as it happens so we can be linked from the 'net. A tall order, I realize, unless someone can treat this site as their primary job. I have to say, although Croc was increasingly bellicose before he left... I do agree with some of the points he was trying to make. I do miss Brian Dreggors' guidance around here, but looking to the past is not going to help us now. His "disappearance" is still a mystery to me. Keeping a level head when moderating is of vital importance, I will say, and that has not been the case consistently in recent times. I felt censored during the elections, and even personally attacked. I feel that a cardinal rule of effective, enjoyable, even tolerable internet forum administration was broken when politics spread throughout C&G during that time. That is also in the past, thankfully, with the Politics and Social Issues section created for those discussions. I have not asked for entry into that forum once, which is good for my blood pressure, doubtless. I've largely migrated to The Lounge lately because I am not as optimistic about GM as I used to be. So much of The Promise is gone, it is harder to look forward to the future of the company these days. The 2-year product plan is just not exciting. I hope I am proven wrong. It has become rarer for me to feel passionate enough about a GM news item to join in on the discussions. I hope this changes, as well. As always, this is my home on the internet, and I will continue to tirelessly come here in the early a.m. and in the evenings when I am home. As for GM news, I don't look here first, I look to Autoblog, but as for discussions on a topic once it IS posted here, that is when I like to get involved. I rarely post on Autoblog, and the Autoweek and Motor Trend forums bore me. This place still has potential and the familiarity and community here is second to none for me. I can only hope that good decisions can be made by the team in charge on a consistent basis to grow the site and keep it relevant to people outside our core, active membership. We need some new, quality members who will ignite the kinds of discussions that will lure us old-timers back into the fray.

  16. I totally agree, Mr. Camino. Fewer models is a given with what's left of GM. With more bodystyles on each model, they would be returning to a winning formula that helped build GM from the 30's through the early 60's, before compacts and midsizers further fragmented the market.

  18. SAmadei's idear sounds fun. Camp was having a bit of trouble with their hot water (something about a pilot light going out) on Saturday, and some of the guys were complaining. At one of the comfort stations a dude was washing dishes and I was toweling off after a (warm) shower. He said, in response to the hot water complaints, "camping? this ain't camping. Camping is when you don't bathe for 4 days and if you need to take a $h!, you go around the corner and dig a hole." I was keeping my ears peeled for the sound of banjos.
  19. Ah paid extree for it whens I bought mah shack.
  20. Man is it great to take a shower indoors. Yes, I love just about everything about tent camping (except for RAIN, which mercifully did not mar this weekend), but the comforts of home cannot be beat. I think I'm "camped out" for a while... unless Labor Day weekend has an impeccable weather forecast. For sure, after that, my season is over (although camp stays open through Halloween). So, what did I miss?

  23. From what my friend said who rode the Tail on his motorcycle, it is extremely treacherous, with no guardrails and long drop-offs if you leave the road. He said ambulances are out there very often, and rate of injury and death is very high. It's a shame.

    Fish Sticks.

Yeah, I too love fish sticks, and agree they've gotten expensive. Lately I've been buying frozen whole filets when they're on sale, thawing them in the microwave, breading them myself, and baking them at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes. They turn out good.
