  1. I want to see this contract. It must be ironclad as hell for GM to want to continue with it. It makes no sense to me.
  2. My lifelong interest in the car hobby evaporated today, April 27, 2009. This is depressing, no doubt. I have no idea what I'll do next. Yes, we'll always have the old stuff to smile upon. But hope for the future is dead.
  3. These ass holes kill the entire Pontiac Motor Division, yet they are working on another NUMMI product. What a blatant smack in the face. Unbe f@#king lievable.
  4. It's going to be a hot, summer-like day to cruise around in your Pacific Slate Gee-Ate. Have a good one!
  5. Flashback: That green F-600 looks just like the red '75 F-700 I rolled over onto its roof with half a load of soybeans when I was 18 years old. Ah, memories of a farm boy.

  7. The clock is ticking on the current Tundra, aka "The Atomic Tadpole", but by then Toyota will have their money from these hapless customers, what do they care?
  8. sock
  9. I hope you're cheering too, z.
  10. Kool-Aid dreams say this is a ploy to get ppl to voice support for Pontiac.
  11. Yeah I kind of made up my mind at the last minoot where to go yesterday. I'm coming down again for the Ocean City, MD Spring Cruise the middle of next month. Maybe I'll catch up with ya then.
  12. Some people are forgetting that this is a GM site.
  13. Nice pictures in this thread.
  14. A new fender usually comes in a cardboard box with foam bumpers made to fit the corners popped onto it to protect from uncaring shippers other than Sixty8. Speaking of Sixty8, he might be the man to ask.
  15. Bad decision to put the Chevrolet Impala badge (a model GM wants to sell in high volume) on an imported car from a factory that is production-constrained. The Pontiac G8 is a different story, it is not intended to sell in the volume GM intends for the Impala nameplate.
  16. Hmmm... I wonder if they have a 2 year supply of G8s sitting around. I think not.
  17. Yeah, plus 2. I got rid of my '04 extended cab Z71 Colorado for no real reason whatsoever.
  18. Looks really nice, Camino.
  19. A good number of Pontiacs driven by young folk at the beach... G5 GTs, Grand Ams, G6s, including several convertibles, top-down. A mid-90's Grand Marquis, black with black steel wheels, wide whitewall tires and big pipes out the back. A couple of new-style Mini convertibles, including one the color of stomach bile (a pukey non-metallic greenish-yellow), and a couple of the wagon version. Cool little buggies. A last-gen, pre-MCE Monte Carlo LT in black with big, shiny mufflers that made the V6 sound mellow, dude was playing with the gas pedal just to listen. And lots more I can't think of right now.
  20. Well, I went to Rehoboth Beach, DE. On the way, I stopped at PCS' BPG dealership. I asked the nice heavyset black guy there if he had a Solstice Targa to look at. He said he had one, but it was a sold factory order, already picked up by the lucky new owner... "he built it himself! He's a GM employee." I said "Yeah, I know." PCS was too fast for me, so no pics of his metallic red Solstice Targa. I did take some pictures of some other things while I was there, though: window sticker, G8 GXP manual - the gorgeous, sad, soon-to-be orphan - a whole line of hot G8s (haha, I tried to keep my shadow out of the pic to no avail) - a nice looking new style G6 GT coupe - just to prove I was really there - Further on the way to the beach, I stopped by one of caddycruiser's many dealerships (those three shadows on the pic are splattered bugs on my windshield, they represent GM's treatment of Pontiac enthusiasts) :AH-HA_wink: my hard-won parking spot in Rehoboth... it took me half an hour to find this spot - the beach (the women are at one end, families in the middle, and the men are at this end) - the end of the boardwalk, it was a nice day -
  21. This beautiful day, I want to go driving. With the windows down, and the warm breeze. A day to forget all the ugly things going on in this country, all this sudden destruction of our stylish industry... the automobile. It has gone from a loved part of life to an evil that some people want to see destroyed. That destruction is here, big, terrible and bright. The other side, the aftermath, looks bleak and cold from my desk. So I'm going driving. It could be to the beach, or to the city. I don't know yet. But I'll take my camera.
  22. out
  23. vonVee: I considered installing Chevrolet center caps, but there is no slot for a screwdriver to pry them out (I don't want to nick them up trying), and I don't want to take the wheels back off to pop them out from the back. z, I heard the same thing about the struts being destroyed, so I've decided I am not going to do that. The window tinting sounds good, though.
  24. You know how Ford used to put on their air cleaners something like "302 HO 4V" or something along those lines. Maybe he means it has a 4 barrel carburetor?
