  1. Ugh, was checking out more details. Can you believe, there is no option for a telescopic steering wheel? Just a manual tilt. They improved their standard features, but for a car at this price range, I would expect a few more things standard, like telescopic steering wheels, a 6-cd changer, etc. Not impressed.
  2. Only as a CXS? That's absurd. Just make the damn colors available on each trim and be done with it. The fact that they were straying away from the two choices of neutral/gray was such a big deal for me as I was getting bored with those. But giving restraints towards which trims can have whichever colors... almost as bad.
  3. If I remember correctly, the 2005 Deville had a special edition in which it had a grayish-blue interior treatment--seats included. When I read about "tuxedo blue", I naturally assumed it would be this way in the Lucerne. Oh, and ROCK ON about the heated woodgrain steering wheel! :)
  4. Well, I feel Buick should have 3 sedans. Period. I just don't like them having choice a or choice b for sedans. It's like "do you want a car with all? Or do you want a car with practically nothing?" I think the Lucerne would make a great extry lux car, which ranges to 40, and then they should have a luxury car that goes from 40-52K. IMHO.
  5. Cananopie, I totally agree with your statement. Buick needs more. For a while now I've been feeling that Buick is hiding something from us--and I'm hoping that's the case. I just have been sitting on this hope, thinking that there will be some phenominal sedan that will blow us away, make the Lucerne look like a joke in comparison, and show all the glory that Buick once was, and should be again. I'm talking flagship here. I'm talking RWD, 6-speed auto, silent, loaded with features--and no copping out w/ things like 1 auto window down, or cloth base or manual climate control base, etc. Power, 300-350hp. Style. Flair. Room--more room--larger, FULL-SIZE sedan, huge trunk that could hold a Focus in. Navigation. DVD entertainment available. Massaging rear seats. Heated/cooled cupholders. LED taillamps. Heated steering wheel. Rear auto climate controls. Surround sound. Woods/textures that totally blow peoples' minds. Leather that feels like butter to the touch. You get my point. Just bring it on!

    GOOOO BUICK!

Thanks Ven! Wow, the Corian is pretty amazing--there are so many choices. I would love to see some interesting textures/treatments in Buicks. Using a different type of treatment in the car is what sets a car aside from its competition, and makes it stand out. I know if I had a car with an interior treatment that was interesting, I would get a lot of friends to consider buying one. After all, who doesn't want something that is extremely reliable, high quality (hey, it's a Buick!), and looks cool? :)
  7. LOVE the Roadmaster name! When I hear the name, I think of size, power, luxury and isolation :)
  8. Okay, this might be flimsy to go on, but I was taking the Content Special Test in Italian for my Teacher's License, and there was an article I had to read regarding Alfa Romeo's return to the U.S. market... that it wasn't gone for good, but rather delayed. I believe I read something about a 2007-08 attempt? But now who knows if this is a fictional article. They usually don't put fictional things on the exam (except for the conversations and writing scenarios), and if it was really coming so soon (in 2 years), you think we'd hear more about it. If I find anything out, I'll let ya know :)
  9. LOVE that steering wheel!
  10. Caddy Sixteen with 2 V8's producing 800hp? By 2009? I'm not believing this one. Nor am I believing the Camaro base with a V8 engine for under 22,000. C'mon, if GM could do that, don't you think we'd have a little better pricing/specs for the cars out now?
  11. Can you get some real pictures of it, inside and out? I'd like to see real-life pictures of the Rainier, not just the GM shots.
  12. That's a shame to hear re: the 3800 performance. Granted it'd be a decent step up from my current engine, 3300 160hp V6, the car is bigger/heavier. I have just been feeling lately that the 160, although adequate has been subpar for my driving. I don't normally need a lot of power, but lately I've just been feeling like more would be a pleasure to have. I guess I really can't form my opinions until I drive the two engines in the LaCrosse, but still I feel like the 3.6 should have been standard... if Buick wants to go premium/luxury status, OHV engines just don't cut it well in today's market.
  13. I don't like the idea of Terraza staying around for Buick; I think that's all wrong.
  14. I didn't think the review was terrible. I mean, what can you expect from badge engineering? It's not ground-breaking. It's not new and exciting. It's not powerful. It's barely sporty. It's just there. The interior I feel is so beautiful--especially the beige color. I like this interior much more than the Equinox... and I feel this will be a steady seller for Pontiac. Again, nothing ground-breaking. He was fair with the review--he did say "they fixed most of the probs I had with the interior".
  15. Empowah, great idea... it wouldn't cost much to offer like free oil changes for 1-2 years as well, and it's a wonderful little selling point. :)
  16. I like the LaCrosse's interior, but I stand by my two comments I've said in the past: Need real wood, and need to jazz up the center stack. Way too much unused space. Could have done something a little nicer with the climate control so it's not just a mish-mash of buttons--could have put maybe a dial for each temp control.
  17. Wow, Stace... I thought the Mustang was selling well!

I thought the current sedan was decent-looking, although I tend to like cars with conservative styling (*ahem, Buick, *cough*). Although the outside isn't so revolutionary, the inside is way behind something I'd want to look at. That giant tachometer behind the steering wheel, followed by a digital speedometer? Gimme one type or the other.
  19. I have to say, I see TONS of Impalas on the roads... people buy them on Long Island big time. I'll be proud to see the refresh as abundant in a few months :)

    GOOOO BUICK!

I'd be happy with the CXS trim name, as long as it provided a sportier equipment than is currently offered. I feel 240hp should be standard on the base, and they should throw a northstar in the CXS to output like 275hp. In the Lucerne, the Northstar should put out like 280-300hp. After all, the DTS will be getting more power in a couple of years (and they have an available engine of 291hp)

You have a point there... and I know two people with 2004 Priuseseses that have another excuse they bring up when I notice their fuel economy reads 43.8mpg: "Oh, well, we really bought it for the PZEV." Uh huh.

I couldn't find the vomit icon, so I'll have to settle for: :omfg: That interior is horrendous.
  23. I have to say, for the base version (the last pic being a red Impala LS), that's a generous piece of chrome they used on the back which definitely gives the car a more-upscale appearance than its base competitors.
