Here's a theory about the dead button. The dash looks like it would swap from LHD to RHD pretty easily. If you were to swap the steering wheel, would it not also make sense to flip all the controls (including the hazard light button) to the other side of the car?

What is the quintessential x0's car?
I agree with Variance. The '86 Taurus is an interesting choice - but I almost see that more as a '90s design because mostly everyone else waited until the '90s to get designs this sleek. The '50s through '70s, I can see us agreeing on fairly easily. Design languages seemed more cohesive during these times. The '80s and especially '90s, I think will be the tough ones.

Found linked from that, beer cannon montage. On a side note, I don't seem to be able to post new topics, not sure what happened.

What is the quintessential x0's car?
This should raise some debate around here, and I am interested to see if we could come to any kind of concensus. What do you think captivates the essence of a particular decade of design? Is there a particular model that comes to mind when you think of the '70s, for example? I will submit the following picture of an '82 Cutlass coupe as my thought of a quintessential '80s design. Let's hear those comments!

I really don't understand why they just didn't give the Aveo those headlights in the first place.

T1GHT WH!P$ TROPHY TRIVIA
The fact that it was the first "Grand Prix"? If that's not it, I'm totally lost.

T1GHT WH!P$ TROPHY TRIVIA
First F1 racer to use detachable rims. They enabled him to win for Renault in 1906. Tires used to take 15 minutes to change before this! ...because you had to lever them onto the rims that were already on the car.

Cheap, good food
I figure, I steam it - so it's all good.

Cheap, good food
I just made some dinner and it turned out rather nicely, thought I'd share and see what creative ideas others have come up with. Take one of those packets of chicken noodle soup. Put it in the amount of water the instructions ask for, and begin to boil it. Take a collander (pasta strainer) and empty a package of spinach into it. Place the collander on top of the soup pot. As the soup boils, it will steam the spinach. The spinach will get a bit of chicken noodle flavour. Make sure you turn the spinach and stir the soup so they cook properly. Stick some Garlic Plus on the spinach, spoon out some soup and enjoy. I know steamed spinach is an aquired taste, but I like it. I just had the above with some smoked salmon. (I realize that's not cheap, but the above tip is!) Mmmm... Amazing how a good meal can make you feel better, especially when you make it.

Hyundai Elantra
The front is very similar to the Sebring, without the ribbed for her pleasure hood. The back is MUCH better. The interiors on both are good. Overall - *gasp* I'd take the Hyundai! The Sebring has been a great vehicle for generations now, but looking at these two, I'd have a really hard time choosing it. The Elantra would have to have some serious quality or reliability issues first.

I'm all for fun too, but something WITHOUT a roof just screams impractical to me. I mean, with a ragtop, at least you can put it up. What do you do with this thing when it starts raining, other than hide it inside??

Nissan Sentra
Agreed. I have no problem with Altezzas anymore, but that big expanse of metal at the top of the taillight bugs me.

Does it even have a back window?? This just strikes me as a less useful Avalanche.

You're right, I was thinking of the wrong car. Where did I get Malibu from? Here's something a little more accurate:

Those really look like Malibu tails...

How does "twist-wrist" work? I was expecting one dial, like on a forklift...

Stuff like this makes me wish I was older, so I could have lived through more of automotive (and regular) history.

Ya, I remember that one. I never noticed that one of the "pimped" rides was a Taurus/Sable wagon. Heh.

Something about that side shot says "Camaro" to me.

RITE and Honda Jointly Develop New Technology
It would be great if one day we could dump garbage into the car, like on Back to the Future.

Concept: Suzuki Splash
As much as this design sucks, it does have some nice headlights. LEDs open up some interesting lighting possibilities. I like the tires on that Ford Splash concept, they've got a cool tread pattern.

What do you call the tC? Seems pretty mainstream to me. It's basically an RSX clone.
