Caddy should do what MB is doing...
Although the 76-79 Seville is a fine car I'm sure, I also dismiss it as a dolled up Chevy. I wouldn't say it was litteraly a dolled up Chevy but the styling has never impressed me. Although they went to FWD in 1980 I love the Bustle-back styling a LOT better than the plain jane '70s Seville. That having been said ENZL, do not get hostile... esp. towards a member like Balthazar. I've been on this board for a year and he is one of the few people on here that when he speaks, I listen. The man is a Car-guy's car guy. I make the mistake of getting hostile too sometimes but if a knowlegable person like Balthazar corrects me I don't get hostile. He's an automotive encyclopedia wiht an amazing track record.

SS Commerical!
Cool. Nice concept... I'll give some constructive criticism: 1. The Malibu SS (or any other product) should not be compared to the Camry interms of performance. The Camry is a soulless car in every way. To brag about beating a Camry is like bragging about winning an arm-wresteling contest against a Quadrapelegic. (sp) 2. The 2006 Impala SS will never in a million years be in the same league as a 300C. I'm a Chevy guy but I think that FWD excuse for an Impala is about as desirable as an V8 Avalon if they made one. (which is to say not much) 3. Monte Carlo blowing past a Charger? In what alternate universe? :huh:The FWD Monte is a few beers short of a six pack when it comes to being a Muscle Car contender. 4. The Camaro should blow past the Mustang... leave the Charger out of it. THe Challenger and Cuda were Pony cars... the Charger was never a Pony car and the new 4dr is a completely different product than the Camaro. As much as I love Camaros let's get realistic an $70,000 R34 Skyline is a little more car than any Camaro that will probably sell for $30,000. Let's not get silly. :P

What're you doin'....
New Years Eve 2002-03 and 2003-04 the Girlfriend went out with her friends an I just hung around the house... at the stroke of midnight I fired up the Camaro in it's Winter Hibernation spot (both times sitting in snow :( ) and fired her up just to start the year off right. That poor girl has seen way too many new years to have gone unrestored.

Looks like this SUV lost the battle...
What am I supposed ot be looking at in this tiny photo? I don't see the driver's side of the SAAB OR the front at all... who says it came out unscathed? It's looks like it was an offset frontal collision so rotate the perspective 180* and it may look like the Blazer is mostly intact and the driver's side of the SAAB could be crushed like a coke can. This is proof of nothing. Although the Balzer's driver probably did not do very well in that impact.

Sexy Butts
C5's got a nice arse but compared to these two it just seems too plain.

1956 Motorama Cadillac Eldorado Brougham town car
I'm not saying the Aztek is a bad vehicle... strange? yes. Weird? absolutely. but was it right for GM in the early 2000s? NO. It should have been a GMC or Chevy "lightduty crossover" or something other than a siter vehicle to the Montana.

Camry Solara...

~ three Buicks
If the Lacrosse looked like the concept I'd buy one even if it was FWD and four cylinder. Geeezus look at this thing it's sleek, sexy, swoopy, not retro but has Buick DNA infused into every anlge. I remember my best friend at the time Mike looking over this car at the Autoshow and just bewildered. I remember him saying it looked sexier than a Corvette or something to that effect. To me it looked like a concours d'elegance restored 1949 Roadmaster made love to a Porsche concept car and this appeared nine months later. Mike was blown away by it, and he was driving a souped up VW Corrado SCCA-style G60 and was a big fan of Porsche & BMW. (he's also Slovakian so he's inot the Euro-tuners) God now this is a B U I C K Z28: Yes I should give the Lucerne a try but the 2002 Nissan Maxima front end and tall proportions are enough to make me very skeptical about it's Buick DNA. I simply do not see a old Gentleman with a 100,000 mile Park Ave finding the Lucerne at a dealership and desiring it. Razor: It's been ten years since the Roadmaster was axed I think styligng is not a legitimate gripe... look at the "conservative" cars GM has made since then? The Park Ave looked awsome IMO.... that car could have been made on top of the B-body frame... or another attractive but very traditional car. The B-dobys were great cars and are still missed by many. A V8 powered RWD sedan with conservative styling is what Buick is all about. Look at the 1996 Buick Lineup: Skylark Century Regal LeSabre Park Ave Roadmaster Riviera That's a Buick lineup not two cars pretending to have Lexus styling and a bunch of SUVs/SUV wannabes. This thing makes a Mercedes S-class or E-class look like pile of monkey $hit.

Car Spotting
Back To School with Rodney Dangerfield (1987) In the opening credits where they have Rodnedy superimposed in scenes from the 40s, 50s & 60s.... Awww-Yeah! That be a Fiddy-Nine that he's stitting on. Rollin' Torqueflite Stlye.

Cars That Give Good Face
Balthazar: Hey to each his own... I've only been looking at 1968 Camaros since the late 80s... perhaps a lifetime would make me overloaded too.... eh on second thought let's just agree to each his own. But here's one we can both agree on. :AH-HA_wink: Damn that is a sexy B!tch  BV: is that Grand Am winking or did it get a bad batch of Botox?

I can confirm that NOS's Camaro is SLO!!!
Hmmm... given the choice of a Camaro wiht a 3800 or a Solstice (all other things being equal) I'd have one hell of a dilema on my hands... but since both come in 5-speed it's a win-win scenario.

What're you doin'....
At home... we're hosting a small get togeather. :) My first new years resolution is to own a 1959 Buick before Halloween of 2006.

~ three Buicks
Time for some brutal honesty. It's not secret that I'm dissapointed with the Buick lineup as of late. I personally think it sucks. The "fresh" names are lame, the two sedan, one SUV and pair of crossovers is completely retarded & the even worse is the lack of the following: - Affordable sedan (Century) - Personal Luxury 'Coupe' (2dr Reagal) - RWD cars (Regal ) - Bold Styling (last gen Riviera or Park Ave Ultra) - Supercharging or turbocharging, it used to be a Buick trademark - Names that have their roots in Buick history not "masturbation" in French. And the list goes on. But I'd like to take this opportunity to share with you my opinion on the last three nails in the coffin of the brand we used to know and love. It's a saad state of affairs that Buick is making the exact same damn mistakes that Olds made in the late 90s. :( 1991-1996 Roadmaster (both sedan & wagon) The last true Buick in terms of blatant originality, personal luxury, bold styling & instant collectability: 1995-1999 Riviera. 1997-2005 Park Ave. (esp. the ultra) ...the last Tri-Shield production car GM deserved to be proud of. IMHO.

Safest cars by insurance saftly institute
Sorry Reg but you'd have to bribe me with Drew Barrymore to get me to drive a 500 every day... let alone buy one. I'm not into the tall car thing, not really into SUVs, not into mot crossovers and I hate minivans. Either it's muclecars, compact sporty cars or Lower - Wider - Longer... that's my thing. The Datsun is an ugly pos, no doubt but it's mechanicals and quirkyness make it desirable to me.... a Ford 500 is just a overpriced Taurus to me... safe as a bank vault nonwithstanding. I think the ultimate conservative sedan of late was the Park Ave ultra. it's no '59 flattop but it sure beats the hell out of the Avalon and Lucerne, nevermind the 500/Montego. just my $0.02

Buick Portholes
...well in either sace they need to come back! so does the Riviera nameplate with RWD and a RWD boat of some sort... Electra, Roadmaster, LeSabre call it whatever. A Rose by any other name...

Can Chrysler keep its mojo?
A decade later that Bugatti rip-off makes me hornier than a toad! This is as close as Chrysler will ever get to having a concept car as cool as the Sixteen. :)

The Signature/Avatar Test Thread
This was something that XP715 has been telling me to do for like three months. Always funny when a skinny white kid tries to act like a "fly balla" whatever the hell that means. One time we went through a McDonalds drive through in "Big Red" and as we pulled away XP told the kid at the window (who was whiter than bleached snow) to "Stay Black". He's such a clown. He almost offends me sometimes but that's what makes him fun to hang out wiht... no filter betweeen the brain & mouth. Oh and since the tides of change have come around again I figured a Darth Maul Avatar was in order.

1956 Motorama Cadillac Eldorado Brougham town car
That pontiac is cool. If they had built that it would have done a lot better than some actual production Ponchos... Aztek, '74 GTO and '88 LeMans come to mind.

Group Buy for NAIAS?
Okay I can take a hint.... :( :P

1956 Motorama Cadillac Eldorado Brougham town car
The fact that some of the motorama cars did get crushed and metled down is just gut wretching... even worse is that some of them got recycled into Mustang IIs and Dodge Aspens. This thing definately deserved to be saved. Damn it's sexy. I'd pay my driver like $400/hr to do donuts in the local supermarket parking lot at like 3:00am durring a snowstorm so I could be in luxury and comfort and he's getting snowed on. (yes I'm kidding) :P

Ariel Atom
cool but not my style. There's a T-Rex parked outside a middle school in the summer in Dunstable Mass. I wonder if some crazy cool substitute teacher drives it?

Who visits C&G?
The miata has had changes since 1989? LOL In a perfect word POntiac would have a Firebird/TA, GTO and a Solstice... Chevy is a volume brand and hell if they can make a retro roadster closer to the '53 Vette formula than the exotic C6 then why not? This is how to get people's attention!
