  1. What you see before you is the 2020 Jeep Gladiator pickup - at least we think it is. According to the Jeep Gladiator forum, a poster managed to grab these pictures and text from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' media site before being taken down. A lot of the information seems to fit in line with various rumors we have been reporting over the past year or two. Come standard with the 3.6L Pentastar V6 paired with either six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 will be available as an option Max payload comes in at 1,600 pounds, while max towing is rated at 7,650 pounds Two four-wheel drive systems (Command and Rock-Trac) will be available Beefy Dana 44 axles joined with electronic lockers front and rear should make for a very capable off-road machine Bed length comes in at five feet and will feature an external power source and integrated tie-downs Being a Wrangler, it will have the option of soft or hard top, and the ability to fold the windshield down. We'll find out if any this information is the real deal or not when the Jeep Gladiator debuts on November 28th. View full article
  2. It seems someone at Ford wasn't paying attention and allowed some photos from their recent dealer conference to appear on a public site. Off-Road.com got their hands on some photos that were "publicly accessible part of a Ford website." The photos are from last month's dealer meeting in Las Vegas. The key picture that everyone is talking about is the one seen above, showing a new SUV's front and side profile, and an angled shot. Off-Road originally reported this was the Bronco, but later reports from Automotive News and Motor Authority say it is the new Baby Bronco. We tend to with the latter as the photos match up with this teaser released by Ford back in March. It certainly is drawing on the DNA from the 1960's Bronco with a square profile and round headlights - LEDs in this case. The Ford name is in block letters and sits between the headlights. As we reported in August, this new Baby Bronco will use the underpinnings of the new Ford Focus. Unsurprisingly, Ford declined to comment on this. View full article

Is this the 2020 Ford Bronco or Baby Bronco?

  5. Aside from the turbo-four engine, the 3.0L Duramax diesel inline-six for the upcoming 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 has us very intrigued. General Motors has been quiet on power figures and fuel economy for this engine since announcing this engine earlier in the year. But thanks to a crafty person who got some photographs off of GM Canada’s dealer site, we now have some figures. The photos were posted by TFL Truck and reveal the diesel engine produces 282 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque - 32 horsepower and 10 pound-feet more than the F-150's 3.0L PowerStroke diesel. GM also claims a highway fuel economy figure of 28 mpg - about two mpg less than the F-150. That 28 mpg figure gives us pause as Canada reports fuel economy figures very different - 'x' liters per 100 kilometers - not miles per gallon. Max towing is rated at 7,800 pounds. We'll see if those numbers pan out when the diesel becomes available sometime later this or early next year. Source: TFL Truck View full article

  7. Mercedes-Benz has been teasing for the past few weeks their showing at Auto China which is expected to be an SUV. But thanks to someone accidentally posting photos on the official Mercedes-Benz website, we have gotten our first look at the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept - quite the mouthful. The design... the less said about it, the better. It's a sedan with a tall ride height - think Volvo S60 Cross Country or Subaru Outback sedan. The front features the tall, vertical slat grille seen on the facelifted Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. The rear end styling is similar to the S-Class coupe with small taillights and angled trunk lid. The interior picture reveals seating for four, blue accent lighting, and a Maybach-branded tea set for rear passengers. The powertrain is comprised of four electric motors delivering a total 738 horsepower, and an 80-kWh lithium-ion battery pack that provides an estimated range of 310 miles. 9. It is no secret that Chevrolet will be debuting a new Corvette ZR1. Numerous spy shots have revealed Chevrolet is going all out with a large rear wing, larger intakes, and distinctly shaped hood. We now have gotten our first look at the new ZR1 thanks to a leak. Corvette Blogger got their hands on a leaked image of Car and Driver's December issue which has the Corvette ZR1 front and center. The model matches up perfectly with spy photos with the various aero bits and large air intakes. The cover also reveals the ZR1 will be packing 750 horsepower, but we don't know what engine will be providing that power (our guess is a supercharged V8). Corvette Blogger also revealed that the ZR1 will likely debut in Dubai. A reader living in the UAE sent Corvette Blogger an invitation for a special celebratory event to mark the Corvette's 65th birthday on November 12th. A couple of outlets have confirmed this event by saying they will be going. After the cover leaked out, Chevrolet released a teaser video of the new Corvette with the November 12th date. 11. If you need a distraction on this Monday, may we point you in the direction of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Owner's Manual and User's Guide. JL Wrangler Forums discovered both books on a public FCA Canada website and has provided PDFs of both for your perusal. Is there any new information that can be gleaned? Yes. There will be a power-retractable hardtop. However, the top is not removable. A 4WD Auto mode that will shift power between the front and rear axles when needed. UConnect system featuring pages for off-road settings Max towing capacity of 2,000 pounds for 2-door models, 3,500 pounds for 4-door models. The manual mentions both the turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder and 3.6L V6, but doesn't mention power output. Thanks to an earlier leak, we know the 3.6 will produce 285 horsepower. 13. Next week, Volvo will debut their new XC40 crossover. They have already released a teaser video showing only small snippets of the models. However, one of Volvo's regional offices didn't get the memo to only post the teaser video. Volvo Hungary accidentally released a video showing the XC40 in full. The video has since been taken down, but various outlets have gotten screen caps of it. The production version almost mirrors the 40.1 concept with the same boxy shape. Inside, the XC40 appears to be slightly more casual in terms of design when compared to the XC60 and 90. At least the XC40 retains the large touchscreen. The XC40 is an important vehicle for Volvo. Aside from entering one of the hottest segments in the marketplace, the XC40 will be the first Volvo model using the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA). This was jointly developed by the Volvo and parent company Geely. The upcoming S40 and V40 will also use this architecture. Source: Autoblog, CarScoops View full article

  15. Thanks to all of the various leaks that have been coming out over the past couple of months, we have a good idea of what to expect with the 2018 Jeep Wrangler. Thanks to a new leak, we now have a possible timeline of Wrangler production. JL Wrangler Forums got their hands on various production dates that are said to come from FCA directly. Production of the four-door Wrangler will begin first on November 13, 2017. The models will feature the 3.6L V6 and a hardtop. JL Wrangler Forums has learned that FCA is considering bumping the production start to October 30, 2017. Nevertheless, if either date proves to be true, this will be ahead of the debut of the new Wrangler at the LA Auto Show. Other dates to be aware of, February 12, 2018: Production begins on 2-Door and Turbocharge 2.0L March 31, 2018: Production ends on the current Wrangler (previous reports said that both the old and new model would be built side by side for up to a year) August 6, 2018: Start of 3.0L Diesel V6 production Source: JL Wrangler Forums

Spying: Next Ram 1500 To Boast A Bolder Face

It seems the Jeep Wagoneer wasn't the only vehicle that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles was previewing for their dealers. Another set of leaked photos have come out possibly revealing the design of the next Ram 1500. Much like the Wagoneer pictures we reported on yesterday, the Ram 1500 pictures come from a poster labeled "Ram Brand Lit Signatures". The front end appears to be a bolder version of the current model with a larger vertical bar and Ram logo. Headlights appear to be slimmer and there is an off-color skid plate. The tailgate appears to be taking some ideas from the Ford F-150 with a rugged and sculpted look. Taillights appear to be the same as the current model. The unlit section is likely for the turn signal and backup lights. We're expecting to see the next-generation Ram 1500 sometime next year or 2018 as a 2019 model year vehicle. That is if there isn't any delays which FCA is becoming somewhat known for. Source: Autoblog Pic Credit: William Maley for Cheers & Gears

Buick News: Leaked! 2017 Buick Encore

Buick was hoping to keep the curtain closed on 2017 Encore before its debut at the New York Auto Show. But a Chinese website has ruined that. auto.tom.com got their hands on some leaked photos of the Chinese-market Buick Encore which matches up perfectly with the updated Opel/Vauxhall Mokka that debuted at the Geneva Motor Show with a revised front end. This is likely what we'll be seeing in a couple weeks time at New York. It is expected that the Encore will have the turbocharged SIDI 1.4 four-cylinder (found in the Touring model with 153 horsepower), along with a revised dashboard and compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 21. This has not been a good week for Audi in terms of leaks. Earlier this week, we reported on a video that showed Audi introducing the RS3 sedan to employees. Now a product roadmap has come to light showing what's in store for next two years. Dutch site Autobahn.eu got their hands on a picture showing the timeline for Audi products in 2017 and 2018. Let's start with 2017. The roadmap shows the RS3 sedan, the Q7 e-tron (a plug-in hybrid that will either come with a gas or diesel engine), and the SQ7 (performance version much like the SQ5 that could offer a tweaked supercharged V6 or a V8). We also spy the A5 and S5 coming in 2017 - makes sense as the new A4 has been launched and the A5 is basically an A4 coupe. 2017 will also a second-generation of the TT RS. 2018 is where some big news comes in. This will be the year where Audi will introduce two new crossovers, an electric one and the Q8 (we believe to be a coupe-like crossover). There's a new RS5 and what most people have been going crazy about, a V6 version of the R8 supercar. Autoblog speculates this could be due to Chinese market taxing high displacement engines. Nevertheless, we'll be seeing if this leaked roadmap pans out in the future or not. Source: Autobahn.eu, Autoblog

    Leaked: Alfa Romeo Giulia

Tomorrow, Alfa Romeo will be showing the long awaited Giulia sedan. But the folks at CarScoops got their hands on two pictures before the debut. The pictures show the model using a number of cues from other Alfa models such as the trunk lid and taillights. Judging from the pictures, it appears this particular Giulia is a performance model with blacked-out wheels and twin-tailpipes. We'll have more on the Giulia when Alfa Romeo reveals it tomorrow. 25. Chevrolet has an interesting week. Tomorrow, the automaker will be revealing the next-generation Cruze. Then a day after, the 6th generation Camaro Convertible will be shown for the first time. Unfortunately for Chevrolet, someone posted the images of the new Camaro Convertible on Chevy's site. The company has pulled them down, but the folks at Camaro6.com got the images. Not surprisingly, the convertible looks much the same as the coupe. We'll have more details on the drop-top Camaro later this week. Source: Camaro6.com View full article
