  1. As stated in the original post, SORP is mid-October. I expect you'll see them on lots in late November.

Sorry, I didn't know what "SORP" stood for. I thought that the original estimation was that G8's would be arriving in North America for spring 2008?

  2. Heard through grapevine that CAMI shutdown yesterday for a week (or more) due to an issue with the passenger side airbag

Yes, you're correct. An issue we had with a supplier going out of business caused a shortage on a certain airbag part. As a result, we had to shut down the plant becuase we run a gm lean manufacturing facility (just in time). We will be starting up again on May 7, 2007.

  3. Yes, why is GM starting to put clocks in most of their cars/trucks anyway? Personally I think its time to axe the H2, its getting long in the tooth. I never really cared for it to begin with and to just come out with bold new colors and a interior refresh does not cut it. Its a hog that needs to go to the slaughter.

Because people still buy them and like them. You may not like it, but other people, (like myself), do. Don't apply your own preferences to everyone's.

  4. In real life the Pontiac looks better than the Chevy variant. Both are very nice vehicles though and I would not call the interior cheap at all. For this class of vehicle it holds its own very well against the competition and now with the new drivetrain, the thetas are a nice bunch of little SUV's. ...just more choice for the people now to go fast. :scratchchin:

  5. I find it ironic how the Japanese like the Solstice better and we here in North America (well, the magazines anyway) like the miata better. A quote from the video, "the Solstice is cheaper faster and easier to drive"....there ya go. We should get the Japanese to do our magazines and tv shows from now on. I would love to have a Solstice.

  6. He never asked any of the other ladies where they bought their car.  The two difference between me and them was sex and race.  I am an african american male and they were white females.

I cannot belive that a GM dealership, who is losing American market share still has people who behave like this representing their company.  The ironic thing is that 20 minutes before this incident, I was working with a sales rep on trading the car in for a new one.  GOODBYE Pontiac, GOODBYE GM.  I'll take my business where I am welcome and respected.

So because this jerk acted like...a jerk, you don't like GM because....

How is GM supposed to know that this guy was such an ass and how are they supposed to control him? Write GM a letter and tell them you're pissed off! Just wondering out of ignorence....where are you "welcome" and "respected"?

  7. The only thing I would change would be the chrome surrounding the bowtie on the grille. It looks like the trucks from 2 generations ago and kinda leads to the grille almost looking dated. But, on the whole, the truck looks great. Wouldn't mind driving one of those for sure. I want to see how this thing looks in black with some GM dubs. :D Oh, and the SS modle is sure to look much different with probably no chrome on the front end at all! ...something to look forward to.

  8. I don't like it.  It has a little too much Chevy Colorado in it - a truck that I hate.

The rear bed looks too narrow.  I hope there is a traditional box option.  I sure hope this truck looks better in person.

The colorado doesn't look bad at all IMHO.

  9. The Equinox SS is a really good idea. I see nothing wrong with how GM is using the SS nameplate on their vehicles. They're all worth of the moniker. Oh, and those late 60's muscle cars may have had their 454's but they weren't that fast or good at handling. I would say that most or all of the current SS vehicles can outperform most or all of the "of olde" SS vehicles.

  10. my only problem with the cladding... is it gets stained or something i've seen a few on the used car lot here... and it was just discusting how plastic could be discolored...

The plastic doesn't discolour. The early Av's had grey cladding, the recent ones have charcoal cladding. I had one of the first few Avalanches in Canada when they came out, and am still in contact with my friend who bought it and the plastic does not discolour. It's possible that some nuckle-head tried waxing the plastic.
