Thanks guys for the advise. I was able to talk her out purchasing the Taurus based on your advise about the transmission. Now I want to try and get her to look at an Impala 2003 and up. I've heard the reliability on the Impala's are pretty solid and it's a GM vehicle to boot.

Hi all

I have a friend whose looking for a new used car, she has her sights set on a 2003 Ford Taurus LX with 65,000 on it and it's in great condition, they are asking $7,995.00 for it. Now I have already blue booked it and the dealer is coming in slightly lower than its blue book value that's not my question. My question is. I don't know what the reliability record is for the Taurus. Could someone please help me out on this? It would be much appreciated.

From what was said in this thread from CarSpyShots it was a 21yr old student reporter who was driving the car from Holland to Germany for a photo shoot. He is suspected of being under the influence... scroll close to the bottom of the thread.

C&G also removes links to GMI.  Just some immature battle for the title of best GM fansite on the internet.  Which, to me, is like being given the title of the most attractive person in Bubmlefuck, WV.  Sure its an honor, but who really cares?  I say put all of the bickering aside and just let the two sites coexist, both are here to serve the same purpose.  No reason to deprive members of possibly valuable information because of something stupid that happened three years ago.

Does anyone know why the website "GMIsidenews" behaves this way when info is linked from this site? Immediately they remove all threads that have linked info from Cheers&Gears. I agree, looks very nice. On the exterior, I wish they would've worked the chrome bar inside the grill section though, but still looks nice.
