  1. Ford and Dodge are hardlly outdated. Ford still has by farthe nicest interior, and the most towing capacity I think. WIll this change when the new SIlverado hits the streets? Well, maybe, but the Ford's got a damn good interior. As for Dodge? Outdated? Hardly. It's got the sharpest handling of the full sizers, the only one with a NAV system (though the new interior is only OK), it's built well fromw hat I've heard, and it currently has the most powerful V8 in it's class with MDS. If the chevy gets something with more powerful than the 5.7 litre hemi, Dodge has nothing more to do than stick the 6.1 hemi under the hood.

As for sales, yes I think the new Sliverado willmake some conquest sales of the F series and the Ram, but not to the point where they "dwindle". We all know domestic truck owners are fiercely loyal to their trucks/brands. I do however, expect plenty of conquest from would-be new Tundra buyers. Cuz that sucker is ugly.

Ford F-series trucks are heading into their 3rd year, Dodge trucks just got a facelift. I'll have to dig out the article but I read, Dodge revised their trucks for fear that the new GMT900's were going to be THAT good. Ford trucks are number 1 sure, probably will be forever, but I predict these new Silverado's and Sierra's to pull a few sales away.

And the Tundra IS ugly. It is also a tonka toy compared to the real trucks fromr the US. Nissan is just cheap and unreliable from trucks to cars.

  2. Dude, you just replaced your transmission, and GM just recalled the SRX, STS, and Saab 9-3. Why are you so ignorant?

I believe my transmission replacment was a fluke. I drive the hell out of my car and at 53,000 miles of hard driving, I'd say that's pretty good. My father's Grand Prix didn't even make it 37,000 miles so he must be a more aggressive driver than me  but the advantage is that I have a dealership that can fix my cars for nothing so I could care less if I go through a tranny or not.

GM still makes the best cars and trucks on the planet, that is why I remain strong on my position. You call it ignorant, I call it satisfied. Gm will always build the best vehicle to fit my needs, not Toyota, not Nissan, not Ford, not Bratwurst Motor Works. I am a loyal owner, always will be. Nothing is going to change that.

  3. it really amazes me how some of you  can see 3/8 of picture of something and know all about it.  theres no way anyone can make a definitive statement about this truck or interior from this here one shot.

generalizations are ok...it looks better than the other trucks so far, but really anything more than that is reaching.  in my own humble opinion of course.

You're right. All I am saying is I don't expect anything less than stellar. This is GM were talking about and this IS their core product.

  4.

Loving the recalls guys! Anybody surprised by this?

Toyota = recall Smart people will wake up and realize that they should have bought a superior GM product over these recall mobiles. Dump your chintzy ass Toyota while you have the chance :CG_all:

  5. I borrowed a friend's Alero 4-cylinder today. Pleasent little car, decent power, decent interior.

With gas hovering at $3.00 a gallon and only going higher, I began thinking about alternatives to replacing my current CTS with an '08 CTS and instead finding a 4-cylinder premium car.

    I'm considering my options:

    Audi A4 2.0t

    Acura TSX 5-speed

    Saab 9-3 2.0t

    Volvo S40

I'm not entirely thrilled about any of those choices... the 9-3 would be ok, but doesn't light my fire.

I know the Aura is coming, but my concern is that they'll package the Green-Line in a way that you can't get a loaded one. What I want is a completely loaded premium car with great fuel mileage. The ecotech in the Alero, with some Buick Quiet Tuning magic, could really do well in a premium Cadillac BTS or Buick Skylark.

My point is... just because people buy in the premium segment doesn't mean they want only so-so fuel mileage. The Ecotech is a great enough engine and I'd like to see GM use it to it's most profitable potential.

What about a G6? Other than the Saab, I'd say a GTP is superior to the other cars and I regularly get over 30mpg with plenty of kick in the pants performance. Another choice could be a S/C Cobalt...

Good luck paying for the other 3. Repairs aplenty and maintainence costs to break the bank. At least the Saab has the super -reliable/durable Ecotec. The others are merley over priced hamster wheels.

  6. I'd expect nothing but the best here. No way will the General let us down.

Wonder how much incentive the rest of the industry will have to put on their trucks to get a sale? I can see lots of rotting Tundra's, Titan's and Ridglines with this one! I'd expect sales to dwindle at the Ford and Dodge dealerships as well (older outdated models). These are the latest and greatest and I predict there WILL be a LOT of catching up to do.

Let's watch Toyota and Nissan quaking in their knees once these things arrive!

  7. Granted, I'm sure your car has a much higher handling and speed threshhold tan mine (unless it were the 2.2 Turbo), but i don't drive it like an old lady. I always go past the speed limit (10-25 mph over...just don't tell the cops). This car has handled steep hills and ough weather all it's 17 year life, and has never needed anything more than fluid for the tranny.

We also have a `70 `Cuda, but it's not really road worthy righ now. and the `69 would be murder on t he wallet with gas prices where they are.

A buddy of mine had a Plymouth sundance that lasted over 200,000 with minimal maintenance. Great car... minimalist, but reliable.

Love those old Mopars  .

  8. Um...your G6 only made it to 53k miles before youneeded a new tranny?

    ...

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

My Shadow is at almost 208,000 miles and it's go the original tranny! You brag so much abou how you think the G6 is better than every car and it already had a tranny replaced? My friend has a Corolla with 150,000 miles and the tanny is fine. Oh man, that's rich. Don't ever go telling me how great that car is again, for I will probably pass out from laughing.  :rotflmao:

Our old `69 Baracuda has the original tranny too.

I'm sure if I drove like my Grandma, I'd get 200,000 miles too Dodgefan. But I DRIVE my car, not ride in it. And so what, I got it fixed for nothing.

69 Mopar, awesome ride (Ah the days when Chrysler was a true American company :( )

  9. A new tranny for a G6 already? Do you kick the crap out of it?

I drive it hard, like I have all my other cars. I have plenty of kills to show for it though, including a Boxster (base) that I trashed this morning on rt 95. I am going to be a bit more leisurely though now that the gas prices are so out of control  .

Don't worry, this hasn't spoiled my impression of the G6. I love the car, and I believe it is still best in class (and even some classes above 8) )

  10. Well I just got a brand spankin new tranny in my G6 so I should be good for 200,000 miles at least. But I have plenty of kills to brag about (Yes, even some 3 series Brats) The best part is that my total costs for my car have been um, let's see...

    ZERO Dollars :ohyeah: ]

Not bad for drivin the hell out of it for 53,000 miles already. I'm shootin for half a million if I can (And plenty more kills)...

Try doing that in your crappy import!!!

PS. Current mpg average is over 30 :ohyeah: ! Meanwhile, gas prices have just hit 2.90  so I think I am going to drive a bit more leisurely till the prices drop some. But I am so loving this car.

  11. Doesn't matter what this load of crap says. This year is the year of the comeback. Toyota and the rest of these commie bastards should be wiped off the map once the new 900's and Saturns arrive.

Hopefully, the import humping public will move out of this country as well since they don't belong here.

  12. I'd be embarrassed if I was seen driving an Avalon. I know I would be viewed as a fool for choosing one over a superior GM car. Avalon is nothing more than a Buick wannabe, and it doesn't even stack up against a Malibu to begin with.

Enjoy the bloated Tercel, maybe one day you'll realize you made a mistake and take the exhorbitant trade-in hit on a Chevrolet. It'll be worth it I say. Hopefully you have thick skin as your neighbors and friends will be laughing at you for driving a japtrap.

It's not too late CreativeVision! You can still make the RIGHT choice...

  13. The new pics make it look better but I still prefer the two previous generations of 3er coupes.  Cant argue with ttI-6 putting out 300hp.  I bet the M3 is going to be a beast.

Where is Domesticated?  I'd love to see him argue that the G6 coupe is a better vehicle than this.

At least the G6 will be reliable. And costs 10's of thousands of dollars less than this overrated hunk. I bet a Cobalt SS S/C would run with this thing and be more reliable doing it as well.

Yay for another Nazi piece of garbage. Maybe it could be a beater for my rich neighbor so he can take care of his babies, an 05' Trailblazer LTZ and C5 convertible.

Never mind, I'll just dope slap him upside the head and tell him to buy a real car, a GTO.

  14. Are you buying an Avalon because Car and Drivel told you to? Listen to the poster above who recommended the Impala. The Quality, ride and performance of the Chevy is 100 times that of the japcrap Avalon. Or look at the Lucerne or Lacrosse and you'll find you don't have to spend 40 grand on a cheapo Toyota to get quality and performance.

Open your eyes man. Toyota is not that great! These cars will be plagued with issues up and down while the smart people will be cruising right by you laughing at you because you chose an inferior Toyota.

Do you really want that embarrassment?

  15. A lot of people said that in the early 1970s but we all know how the

next two decades turned out. The Prius is a marketing tool plain &

simple. It's overly complex, underwhelming and over rated.

Exactly. Although instead of it being a marketing tool, it's just a plain ol TOOL. And the drivers of these cars are TOOLS for paying too much money when you could get an ecotec for less money and similar mileage results.

I want to run Prius's off the road when I see them but I don't want to scratch up my G6...

So I flip them the bird instead. Get the hell off my roads moron!!!

  16. Are you blind? Did you see in the title that GM is in the recall too? Get a pair of glasses or something, damn. Also the Mazda is a better driver's car, the SKy and Solstice look better though.

And do you forget Mazada is actually profitable for Ford, unlike it's own divisions? DO you also know the Fusion/Milan/Zephyer/EmKayZee are based off the 6 platform? Dude you're usually good for a cheap laugh, but this time your post was just ignorant/stupid.

I don't realy care what platform the Fusion cars are on. They will hopefully be moved to a decent US offering when the redesign comes around. BTW, does the Fusion cars rust like the Mazda 6 did in its first years?

How is the girly MX-5 a better drivers car? What does Mazda have to go up against the Redline models? Mazda is going to be left out in the cold once those cars come along.

Sky Redline and GXP Solstice are going to be wiping the floor with Z4's, Boxsters and S2000's and the MX-5 isn't going to be on the radar. Gaurantee all those cars mentioned above are going to be rotting on dealer lots once the hot Solstice/Sky cars arrive.

They should be rotting right now with the base models! Foolish import humpers :nono:

  17. Being that Suzuki is under GM, it should have won. Even though it's Japanese :nono: it still helps us out financially. I still say the Aveo was purposely left out of the test so the others weren't totally degraded... More Auto Rag BS leaving out the real winners.

  18. You know for such a domestic humper, who hates anything foeign, including Koreans, you do realize the Aveo is nothing more than a Daewoo with a Chevy badge. You know a RWD BMW or RWD anything will be more fun to drive than a FWD G6 right? Hell, even the FWD SRT-4 is faster and more fun (I'll take that over a G6 anyday).

I don't like the fact that it is built by Koreans, but in the end it helps out General Motors so I'll accept it. Besides, it helps GM get more of a strangle-hold on the rest of the world. Just like Buicks leadership in China, GM's leadership will spread farther than the US market IMO. When the rest of the worlds' Automakers are put out of business, GM's dominance will be unstoppable.

Crack open the bottles of wine boys, it's only a matter of time. :pokeowned:

  19. Apparently Lexus is giving the owners free iPod nanos when they bring their car in for the recall work. It doesn't make the situation any better, but it does help keep good relations with the owner. And as long as they keep doing things like this, they will stay in a positive light with the owners in spite of recalls.

Great so Lexass is buying people off to get them to ignore their recall-mobiles. :stupid:

Maybe enough of them will smarten up and buy a real car at their nearest Buick, Pontiac or Chevy dealer instead of wasting their time on these Jap traps.

Dump your Lexass folks, it ain't all that its cracked up to be. Just an over priced Toyota hunk of shiyte.

  20. He thinks his G6 with half a dozen problems in the first year is a model of reliability instead of the lemon that it is.  His view of reality seems a little "different".

Would the current one be any more competitive?  Fuel economy doesn't seem up to par.  I doubt the 0-60 or handling would be better than the Fit.  Fit  <_< and finish won't be.  Price is the only real advantage I can see, and I doubt that would win this competition (but it might win some buyers who just want the least expensive car they can find).

One of the items that hasn't been commented on is the level of standard safety features on the Fit is going to change this whole segment.

Half a dozen problems? I've mentioned 4 and I wouldn't call them problems. They are just minor neuscances and they were fixed by the boys here at the shop. The drive more than makes up for them anyways and I laugh at the posers who paid too much for their BMW's and Acura's. I'll smoke them all day long.

The Aveo would have cleaned up in this test had it been actually included. I bet C&D knew that too and made sure that the Aveo DIDN'T make it. Probably were paid by Honda to win this test :nono:
