  1. Yeah, this is what she does during mu UTAs. She has already informed me that she willl be taking the kids to a show on my unit's "Family Day." Oh well, can't say that I blame her.

She told me that she caught some grief by a know-it-all who kept asking her why she was trying to pass our Skylark off as a GSX. The show entry said "Skylark Custom" but he couldn't read, I guess.

I just can't wait for HAN, that's classic car overload, and a whole week of it!

No I am not going to a car show I am going to a cruise, the car show is the day after lol.

  2. I know that this was a lot of work taking then downloading so many pictures. Thank you again!

Although nearly all of them have some interest, I've decided that my personal favorites are the black '66 Riviera on page 2 and the blue '63-'64 Riviera on page 2. Both look so sharp and have the Buick chrome road wheels - yowzah!

Nope no download problems at all lol we just load them to the computer & use Gallery remote it resizes them & then does it all by its self.

But man 150 some odd pictures. Some of the close ones like of the yellow GSX were for my benefit lol, & same iwth the tail lights on teh 72 buick. Need to find out alittle bit more about mine.

  3. That's exactly it. The funny part about all of this is that a couple of her coworkers can't seem to understand that I have a job too and it pays a heck of a lot better than what they make.

I spent a few months working for the school district as an evening custodian. I left due to someone being a jerk. When I was talking to the maintenance department supervisor I told him that I was there to help out since they were always critical short of people, not because I needed a second job. I was finally this week when he was talking to Tammy that it clicked for him. Being an aircraft mechanic (even civil service) pays MUCH better than being a janitor.

Anyway, Tammy took the 90 into work today. So far I think she loves driving it, I know I do.

It will be interesting to see what the actual mileage is. I know the computer was showing me over 30 driving home. In fact it reached 38 for a bit (that's average, not instant). The computer is 1-2MPG off on the 2000 Vette so I hope it is that close on the 90. What's really cool about this is that I average 28-30MPG in the 2000 and that's driving back and forth to work. It's a 30 mile commute but not more than 8 miles at highway speeds before having to slow down, stop, and then accelerate again. I don't drive insane but I also don't drive like an old lady. The worst I got was still over 25mpg and that included lots of playing around and having fun.

We got about 28mpg in the Cavalier. It was an auto which didn't help much. BTW, that sold yesterday. We got the $1900 we were asking for it, which means that the selling price paid me back for everything I put into it, except gas. Heck, it even paid for the insurance and repairs I made to it. Not too bad.

If we wind up geting about the same mileage in the 90 as in the 2000 then we'll be doing very well. I expect the first few tanks to come out on the low side as Tammy gets more and more used to driving a stick shift again. But as she gains experience, she'll learn and it'll settle into a decent average.

    Gotta love a 6 speed!

Hey I dont drive that bad I just have a lead foot lol, you like going through the gears on yours better good lol, I just like going through them faster lol.

I love the car & she drives great. The only problem I have is that I am 200+ & only 5'3 so rolling out of the car isnt always a good thing lol.

  4. Cool. Congrats.

Now can I borrow your super cool saturn yellow Tri-Shield A-body? ... please? :smilewide:

NO Panther, you can not lol.

You dont come bug me on z28.com no more lol.

anyways drove the car towork & got names called at me again today, But it wasnt as bad. of course I got called all sorts of being a lier due to the fact that no one at works believes me when i say a v8 Car can get up wards of 30mpg. lol I even got told today that my truck should get better gas miliage than my vette lol. ended up tell them that they better stay to cooking food for schools over driving cars if they dont know what they are talking about lol.

  5. lol He doesnt know half the comments that I got from work lol, They are nothing but ticked off at me lol.

Oh well Came home & then left again Only to arrive back with This baby.

  6.

    Zhawk = :pokeowned:

no he just knows his place lol.

as for the skylark, I saw it on ebay before we left for reno (FOR HAN) a couple years back & I hated Yellow, I showed him & he just kind of went :scratchchin: before We left I called the guy to see if he still had the car since the auction was no longer going on & if so what would he take for the car, he told me but he told me he was going on vacation which was fine by us because we were leaving for reno.

Anyways we got down to reno & went to the auction & Dan fell in love with two cars , one of the was a 67 Camaro vert. ( would have loved that car) the other one was a corvair vert 67, (which I hated). he was very mad at me because the guy offered him the car for really good price. But I had my heart set on the buick by then.

anyways I called the guy the day we got home & dan had to go to work that night (we got back sunday night from reno) so when he got home the next morning we headed down with cash in had & we drove the car home. its been MINE every since.

I like the 71 too so if we ever got a divorce he gets stuck with the 89, his 95 & the vette, I get the rest lol..

  7. Gee, it's Washington state, so why am I not surprised!

I lived on the eastside of Seattle for a little over 3 years -- Bin ellevue and Kirkland. Beautiful communities to be sure.

However, the transplants hung out with the transplants and the natives hung out with the natives. I take it back: I had one "native Seattle" friend but he was Greek and had this fascination with going over to Greece to rummage around the same way I have the same fascination with Italy. And, it wasn't much of a friendship, because when I left to come south to my native California, the friendship ended and other friends I've had in other places remain friends despite the distance. I guess those are the real friends.

Other than that, that's the way it was up there IMO. And, prior to that, I lived in the Portland OR area....and guess what, it was the same way.

As pretty as it was, I don't think I would return to the Northwest (even though my parents' chose to make that their home)....once bitten, twice shy.

Well it doesnt matter anymore back in 1980 when My family moved in to town there wasnt very many Military families living in Yelm. Now there are many of us living here & they dont care.

I am finding the people I grew up with really liked me they just werent sure how to come up to me.

I am still a person who speaks her mind & dont care who thinks bad about me

  8. I grew up in the small town Zhawk & I currently live in. WHen we moved in we were not welcomed. This small town everyone was related to everyone else.

Back then you could ride your horses down main street with out a problem & Children were allowed to go anywhere & everywhere with out thought of them being hurt by someone.

Now adays you keep your kids close to home & you get a ticket for riding your horses down the main street unless its for the parade.

  9. Wait, you like people as a hole?

Drew, no I did not get a picture of that car, sadly. Was it a Dodge? I thought it was a Buick, maybe I'm wrong. Wasn't it coral, yellow and green?

NO you cant have him Hes happily Taken BY ME
  10. I love Nassau blue. It's arguably the best C5 color.

Nice going, zhawk. I'd love to be able to follow your lead and have a Corvette for a daily driver and a toy (you can never have too many ), but alas I don't think I'd be able to lug my bike around in one. Also, I gotta love the fact that you got hitched to a female who shares your interest in cars. A rare find in itself.

Yeppers he sure did do a great find both on the car & MYSELF lol

  11. Sweet. This guy's shown a different take on the battery situation. Its innovation like this that keeps us advancing. And building a sports car first is definately attention grabbing.

  12. Besides, if Tammy gives me the back and shoulder massage she promised, I will definately be relaxed and fall asleep soon. If not, I may consider taking out on of the ATVs and play.

    163864[/snapback]

You want me to do what? No I dont think so lol.

OK go out & have fun on the ATVs but you get the little one I get the big one.

Then you have to help me get the two cars ready for the show lol

  13. Zhawk & I live in a very small town in Washington state about 2hrs south of Seattle & about 45mins South east of Olympia ( the capital)

On the best days you can see MT Rainier big & Bold while driving down any of the streets of this small town.

We live about 10 mins from town in the country air & love it out here because no busy body neighbors are telling us we cant "Play" with our cars going down the streets
