  1. The Equinox and Torrent are the same, but the Vue is quite different.  Different plant, very different body construction, etc. Platform sharing does not equal rebadge.

    Mark

    They may be built at different plants, but the fact remains that the underbody structure is incredibly stable. Just because the metal that goes over the platform is different doesn't mean that a car will do incredibly different. The cobalt has 5 star frontal and 4 star side impact, the HHR took 5 stars on both because they added support in the B-column under the drivers seat and in the top. I was reading all about it on the HHR forums.

    I would expect the G5 to get 5 & 4 stars since its' the same car... It's all about the underbody structure.

    Oh by the way did anyone notice that the 2007 Tahoe was rated 5 star for frontal crash worthiness, and they are gonna be posting the rollover results soon!

  2. It does look like a chop.

    I still say BMWs are overrated.  I will never own one.

    That's funny cuz I can't wait to buy one. It's between a BMW 5 series or the Cadillac STS sometime in the near future once I get my restaurant off the ground.

    Too bad the 3 series didn't resemble the 5 series, cuz the 5's are super hot!

  3. I would like to say that I was a little more than aggrivated with the story, it was unprofesional and uncalled for. It should have been posted in a "Rumors" message board, not on the main headline! Apology accepted but know that some trust in C&G has been lost and can't be regained.

    <_<

  4. Check out:

    HHR Club

    For more infomation on the HHR. Read through the forums and get a general feel for the car. Everyone has raved about it since it's launch! You have to see the vehicle in person, it's just that much better in person rather than reading. I will be buying my black 2006 HHR in march, I can't wait!
  5. When Wagoner can pull off his first quarter with no losses, i'll give him props. Till then I have a hard time believing a word that he says. Although with the autoshow here, i'm starting to feel a lot of optimism for GM. I do think that 2006 will be the turnaround year for GM. I still don't think it will happen till around July or august of this year though.

  6. same line and story from last year, only this time the pricing will be "aggressive". Excuse me If I'm not overly optomistic this will actually happen and pricing will actually be in line with the competition, and in many cases below, since cars like the Grand Prix, well they don't exactly measure up to be blunt. Actions speak louder than words...

    [post="68276"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]

    When a GM rep. called yesterday I literally gave them my thoughts on everything that they are doing. I mentioned the pricing game and I made sure that I wanted the info to go to the correct people. Hopefully GM will actually make it aggressive! Why not sell a Tahoe for $32,590 and a Suburban for $36,590?! Hello, can you say undercut the competition by an but load? GM will still make some profit, we've seen that profit is still there because of these incentives that drop the prices some 3 or 4 grand. Of the many things that I mentioned, I also added some notes about the new advertising campaign that GM ran during the 2006 new years eve bash in NY. Anyone else see how hot those cars were?! It made me feel all tingly inside just thinking of how much I can't wait to get my HHR and haul a** like that lol.
  7. lol.

    Ew. I don't think I like the new face on the GMC T-900s.
    And what's the Denali look like? Did they release any pics of that? Don't tell me that's it.

    [post="67951"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]

    No that's not the Denali. But I have to agree, out of all the 900's... I really really don't like the Yukon. I take it that it will look better in person, but those pictures are just hideous. The current Denali is hot as hell, I don't see why they can't make something as elegant and aggressive as that.

    Turn your speakers down btw. :P

    [post="62292"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]

    Hopefully those kids wrote down exactly what I wrote down. I represent the 18-24 age group... and I could tell GM exactly what they need to change. Haha they should have asked me!

    That axis website has no link to GM cars at all!!! Maybe that's the problem with the website. I thought it was suppolse to somewhat promote their cars?
  9. Those powertrains aren't even including the SRT version...  :P  I would expect the 2.4L turbo with around 230-250 HP possibly with AWD and a stardard 5 sp or optional CVT?

    [post="58020"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]

    So I don't really know Dodges too well, but what is CVT?? Is that like GM's DOD?
  10. The information about the Caliber just keeps pouring out of the Dodge website, it's making me want the vehicle more and more. The model that I built on the website came to a total of 17,500 which is 2.5k less than the vehicles I want (Mazda 3s hatchback, Chevrolet HHR 2LT). Not a bad deal.

    So has anyone heard anything as far as the release dates, actual size comparisons, interior pictures?? I've heard from some people that it's actually a little smaller than the Neon which is kinda hard to believe.

  11. Keep in mind many of these workers are from the 1980's when GM would lay them off for months at a time then call them up and expect them to be at work at 6:00 the next morning. I'm sure there are plenty of UAW that dislike GM jerking their chain and don't want a benefits cut.

    [post="41988"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]

    It's a sad reality check.. but the US isn't doing so hot right now, and it's easily visible by GM and Delphi. Not to mention the whole gas price fiasco. It's tough being a big company suffering downsizing.

    I work for Hollywood video on the side for the free movies, and were not doing too hot either. The movie industry alone has dropped 18% in patronage, HV is suffering from that reality and is doing the same thing GM is doing. So far they've fired about 1000 blue collar workers, and are cutting back sharply on movie orders.

    I think it's happening all over, companies are seeing a lot of slowing... Minus the housing industry which still hasn't capped.

    I don't have very much faith in GWB anymore... That's my $.02
  12. It's not a good sign that only 60% of them voted for it.

    Obviously many in the UAW still don't get it.

    In 2007, my guess is that they will probably be demanding pay increases from a GM that's almost bankrupt.

    [post="41863"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]

    The members of UAW aren't dumb, they know that it's not possible. I think when 2007 comes around they'll be more willing to drop wages.

    The 2008 presidential elections couldn't come soon enough!!! I think once the man is out of office we'll see our economy do a turn around.
  13. From what I know, there are no concepts for from GM for NAIAS this year, budget cuts.  Remember the sources, Edmund's started this and they are highly dubious of late. I find it hard to believe there will be no concepts, so we'll see.  GM will want to highlight their new products more than ever without concepts taking away the headlines from them.  We'll see all the GMT900s and Lambdas on this year's show circuit.  Sorry, folks, no Camaro.  If I hear anything otherwise, I'll let you know.

    [post="9343"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]

    So I was told by a source on hhrclub.org that there will be a Special edition HHR that will be displayed, and then sold starting spring of 2006... There any truth to that, or is he just yankin my chain???
  14. Has anyone seen pics of the G6 with 17" black chrome wheels?  They are a new option on the GT.

    [post="40244"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]

    I bet they are something like what the Cobalt SS has. It's like a graphite color in person. I saw some on a yellow cobalt SS when I went to the chevy dealership, i'm sure the G6 black chrome have got to be the same idea.
  15. The black G6 coupe in front of a black background with the taillights on...beautiful.

    [post="35849"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]

    I totally agree!!! I wrote GM letting them know how much I love the new Pontiac ads. I felt like I almost had to let them know, cuz after that commercial I set out to find me a G6, but I think it's still about $2,000 out of my price range... :(
  16. :( oh dear.

    [post="36387"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]

    Same old stuff. My trust in Wagoner is about the same as my trust in the President right now. All I can say is that Wagoner better have something good up his sleeve or else it will be inevitable that GM replace him.
  17. I agree whole heartedly with Wildcat, these posts are just trouble makers and but another wrong turn.

    Pontiac has the most promising line up right now.

    saturin has nothing, what? two potential cars, one is a Pontiac rebadge and the other is a RWD Aurora/Audi 6 years behind the fact ? Toot ! toot ! saturin is still not making any money

    Pontiac and Buick are the only ones selling volumn and have been selling volumn. Yes BOP was the meal ticket for these morfidite leaches that have sucked the developement dollars out of GM.

    Dumb thread, highly suspect of the motive behind posting it.

    Like I said the answers lie in the sales volumn, not opinion

    Remember to think this through before you post. Pontiac has the Solstice (compact sports car), Montana SV6 (mini van), Torrent (sm SUV), G6 (midsize sedan), Grand Prix (midsize sedan?), Vibe (Toyota rebadge), GTO (midsize sports car). More than half that lineup is crap minus the Solstice, GTO, and the Torrent! Pontiac has some nice looking cars, but it also has some of the cheapest looking interiors that I have ever seen! I think that in terms of who has the most potential I think that it would be Pontiac, but the strongest brand overall would be Saturn by far!

    Saturn is on their way to having all their vehicles redesigned within 2 years, and having doubled the lineup they had before. Not to mention their awesome customer service, and no hassle purchasing.

    I would rather purchase a vehicle based on it's quality not how many they can produce...

    Just my 2 cents.
  18. GM Tv said that they will debut the GMC Yukon on October 5th, and the Cadillac Escalade sometime within the first weeks of November!! They also have the Avalanche ready to show us..., but that girl is standing right in front of it!!! I expect they will debut those in January since they are due out second quarter.
  19. I believe extended warranties should be added to the new "Total Value Promise".  I am impressed, a little, with the 4yr/50k warranties (5yr/60k would be better) on Cadillac and Saab. Supposedly Buick and Hummer will get this too, but why not the rest of the brands (Chevy/Pontiac/GMC/Saturn).  With extended warranties I believe people will take GM on their TOTAL Value Promise.  At the least, GM could offer extended power train protection on all their vehicles.

    [post="1051"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]

    I agree 100%, why not use the 5yr 60k, it makes the Total value idea really work! If Kia... can offer the 5 yr 60k, why can't GM?
