1. So, I decided to put one of these together, I think it's been a while.

Basically, I cut pieces out of pictures I found on the 'net. See if you can identify them...

I've included 2 interior shots and an engine shot this time too, to mix it up. Most of these are probably not that hard.  :AH-HA_wink:

    2. Seemed distinctive, until I cut it off the car. I'll be interested to see if this one is easy or not.

    4. Bigger piece, blander piece of design.

    8. Name the bland greenhouse.

    10. I think this is stock, my apologies if it's not.

    11. Gauges. Colour gives it away.

    12. Engine pic, but should be simple.

    13. Again, I have a feeling this will be simple for a select few.

    14. Decided to include the complete pic here, because it's rather obscure. I have a feeling this answer will come from one of about 3 specific members.

    T.W.T.T. Thread #45

    Name the aircraft.

I was powered by an 18 cylinder "WASP" motor that produced 2450HP

At sea level my top speed was almost double that of a McLaren F1s

My tall suspension & bent wing design was a result of my 13'2" propeller

When full my gas tank would consume 534 gal.

Six .50 caliber machine guns made easy work of Mitsubishi Zeros

I could carry bomb loads of more than the GVWR of an big 1950s car

    A hellcat or wildcat possibly?

  3. sounds like the silverado had a limited slip in it and the dodge and ford did not..... doesn't matter if its a 4X4 or not, if it doesnt have limited slip and one side is slipping the other side won't get power.

    207121

Ford and Dodge HAS the limited slip rearend, GM has a LOCKING rear differential. That is the reason the locking rear is so much better than limited slip. If any of you guys have a 4x4 Honda 4-wheeler, go get it stuck in 4 wheel drive and watch the front axle and you`ll see how limited slip works. A Honda 4x4 4-wheeler has limited slip for the front axle which translates into 3 wheel drive. This is just a example on how limited slip works on Ford and Dodge trucks. A Honda 4-wheeler when it gets stuck in 4x4 mode, only one front tire spins while the other sits still. :hissyfit:

  4. thats just sick.............where do you come up with these bands ?

    thats a bit like ?

Where oh where can my baby be one of the saddest songs of all times. We had a guy loose his young wife back in the late 60's to a head on, so that song was to close to home.

    190388

Last Kiss is the name of the song. The singer of the original was J. Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers.

  5. Not sure how strange a question this is but here goes...

I was wondering have there been any mainstream black rock or metal bands? ("Black" as in race.) I figure if there have been white rappers, black rockers can't be too out of the question, can they?

  6. I searched thinking there must be a thread on this in here but couldn't find it.  Probably using the wrong search string.... oh well.

I was recently looking up some info on Cars, the recent Pixar movie.  EVERY car guy or gal should see this.

Anyway, I was listening to some of the soundtrack and it got me thinking about just how many songs were inspired by our beloved GM.  Most songs I know of are about GM models, engines, etc.  There are a few about Fords.  I'm sure there's gotta be some Mopar songs, though I don't know of them.  I do not ever recall a song about a Honduh or TOYota.  Okay, except "Pink Cadillac" which states that her (or his) love is bigger than a Honduh or Subaru.  :pokeowned:

List the car songs you know and what (if any) specific make, model, etc is mentioned or about which the song is written.  Also, if possible try to list the ORIGINAL artist as many songs have been remade so many times.

So, I'll start off the list:

Only right to start off with the song which spawned this thread -

Sheryl Crow - Real Gone - First line "I'm American made but I like Chevrolet" - Opening title song to Cars, the movie.

Asleep at the Wheel - Route 66 - Okay, no specific cars mentioned but it is the ultimate car guy song. :D

Brentson, Jackie and his Delta Cats - Rocket 88 - Oldsmobile Rocket 88 of course

    The Beach Boys - 409 - Um, it's about the 409. :)

Prince - Little Red Corvette - Another obvious theme.

    Okay people, your turn!

    189074

    Also

    Little Deuce Coupe--The Beach Boys

    Shut Down The Beach Boys

    Guitars, Caddilacs--Dwight Yoakum

    The Mercury Song--Alan Jackson

    The Corvette Song--George Jones

The "Little Nash Rambler" song. I don`t remember who sung it or the actual name of the song though.

    455 Rocket--Kathy Mattea

  8. With the '06 Lincoln Zephyr being a one-year only model (becoming MKZ for '07), I was trying to think of some other examples of models whose name lasted only 1 year...

or for that matter, models that lasted only 1 year or whose design lasted only 1 year..pretty rare in modern times..

    186481

Here`s a big one that everybody missed, 1991 GMC Syclone. The GMC Typhoon was only 2 years, 1992 and 1993.

  9. I don't know about ever, but the smallest OHV (and OHC) 4-cylinder engine in current production for automobiles is Subaru's EN07 at 658 cc, produced in several variants in 8V, 16V, supercharged and one with VVT. Mitsubushi is the only other company currently producing 4-cylinder engines in this class (limited to 660 cc) with the 659 cc 4A30. Suzuki, Daihatsu, Honda and Mitsubishi's latest Kei-class engines are all 3-cylinder.

    186695

    Smallest 4 cylinder is a .36L 356cc engine in a 1963 Honda T360.
