IDK... Wouldn't filing for Chapter11 raise a lot of questions about GM's ability to fulfill warranty claims in the future? And would't that fear/uncertainty be worse for GM in the long run?
lots of variables. It would depend on what kind of concessions they could get from the unions and how they could spin the "Moving Forward" concept.
-
Hopefully not.....the Kmart/Sears merger could not have been handled in a worse way.
-
Its not an attitude its a fact. GM would come out of BK better able to compete at the cost of union jobs and Shareholder money.
-
Yes, but the impact would be quite bad....
For Unions and Shareholders yes. Consumers might not notice at all. Choice could be down, but value might be higher.
-
bankruptcy could be just what the general needs. It would get them out of all of the crappy contracts that they signed. Shareholders would lose their shirts, but in the long run the company could emerge lean, mean and WAY better off.

-GM is burning Money
-One day they will run out of Money to burn
-They will need to borrow Money to operate
-Credit markets are seized, so there is no money to Borrow
-BK or Stock Offer
Not a conspiracy, just reality

due to our lothesom idiot Rodger Moore.
Sean Connery was better, but still I think Moore is underrated

When you take low resale values into account, Used Cadillac's are the best deal out there

I disagree with the premise of the original post because there are people who visit this forum that don't deserve respect. They come to the forum simply to troll and stir up angst while contributing nothing of value.
The idea that we must afford someone respect simply because they signed up here is absurd. Toyota Tokers, Wagoner hating wankers and Honda humpers can take it to another forum if their only purpose in being here is to disrespect GM.
Dont forget the pretend insiders who are now filling-in for the actual insiders that have left the site

Or they could be talking about an aftermarket tuner, since there are accompanying photos as well, undisguised and in the open.

when my LS430 had the transmission replaced, I got $200 in gas cards for my trouble

Nevermind my posts. They were in response to several threads in the previous forum about C & G getting their press credentials back from GM. Admins making up quotes wont get you there. Whether my info is correct or not is irrelevent, Northstar's was clearly fabricated. And it hardly metters whether it was a joke or not. Maybe the owners here dont care about being taken seriously, then completely disregard my posts. Sorry for the trouble. See Ya......

fyi: i was able to find that the following groups, collectively, gave $1.5 million
JM family enterprises,
Toyota Southeast Dealers
Toyota employees
Toyota Motor
just a bit shy of TOYOTA donating "SEVERAL MILLION"

yeah that looks like it. I was citing from memory. Northstar just made his up. -
Brett,
don't take this personal, but I don't believe that Toyota donated "several million dollars" in aid for the Florida hurricanes last year.
please post a link to your substantiation.
thanks

Thats the one I found, I do recall them upping it though after the hurricanes that followed. I wont take it personal. I really dont care, I'm not a toyota fan, I just thought making up a quote from someone was a bit over the line even if it was a joke. The quote is one of the last things we can count on in journalism and if people just start making those up, theres no need to believe anything we read. I come to this site for news, I thought thats what it was about. -
Toyota gave several million dollars in aid for the Florida hurricanes last year and I would expect them to do the same for Katrina which hit even closer to their operation here. I remember on the old board, there was a desire to legitimize this place as a hard news site. Making up quotes will not take you down that path.

A pull-ahead program is not some pre-ordained right. Weird that you would choose not to work with GMAC because of that, but hey, it's a free country
