Sounds like the panther was ready for a tune up, I was rather unimpressed until the the last donut you did before it died. I liked how you could see your fog lights throught hte smoke.

Seems like you are asking for a higher ride height. The ride height on the current GMT800s was one of their selling points when they first came out...easier to get in and out of while maintaining the ground clearance.
Dodge.com lists the 2006 RAM 1500 Quad Cab/6.25ft bed 4x4 TRX4 model at a ground clearance of 8.0 inches. The ST and SLT 4x4s are listed at 7.4 inches.
GMC.com lists the 2006 Sierra 1500 Extended Cab/standard bed 4x4 model at a ground clearance of 8.7 inches front/8.6 inches rear.
So the RAM rides higher and is harder to get into and out of, but the Chevy/GMC have more ground clearance.
OK I stand corrected on the Ground clearance. However I feel and I am sure I am not alone here that a little more room between the tires and fenders would add to the appeal of this truck.

Maybe this will help illustrate what I was trying to say

No!!!
Has the thought ever occured to you that not everyone wants a lifted truck?
I didn't say "LIFTED". That is what the aftermarket is for. However a Little more ground clearence and Ride Heigt would be nice, At least to the same height as the RAM.
AND Yes it has Occured to me that not everone wants a lifted truck, that is what the 2WD models are for!

While I too would like to see them on sale earlier, November is still like 6 months before the new Tundra goes on sale.
True But everyone has at least seen the New Tundra
-
So they can go on sell before the hype dies. They're going on sale, I believe, in November.
They should be at dealers in september not at the texas state fair
-
Why Does GM keep pushing the introduction of the 07 Silverado and Sierra Back. We first thought they would be at Chicago, then were led to believe they would be at New York, Now we are to assume they will be at the Texas State Fair in September. SEPTEMBER!!! What is up with that! All of the SUVS are out Why is GM waiting so long to debut the trucks?

Did anyone look at the photos from the SEMA show the red chrome and the red in the seats do match.
-
I just hope the windows in the rear doors of the Extended Cab Models Roll up and Down instead of the pop out ones that are in use now.
-
I think the rims and wheels would look better if they were bigger, but overall it looks pretty nice.

The last time I checked I thought rims and wheels were one in the same? :duh: -
Makes the Z-71 version look tame!
So you have seen the Z71 Version..... Where?
-
-
Keep in mind the Z71 Pakage is an Off-road Suspension upgrade. The ride will be a little stiffer on the pavement. I drive a 01' Z71 Silverado and I feel the stiffer suspension is a trade off for driving any truck especially those that were better equipped from the factory to go off the beaten path. :twocents:

Anymore news on this?
-
obviously the photos are not too scale relative to one another. However even before I resized the Mustang to be close to that of the camaro the dimensions appeared to be the same.
-
The Height of the door sill on each appears to be the same to me, As well the distance from the a-pillar to the window sill looks the same. Mustangs are selling well aren't they?
-
ok but certainly we should expect to see a vehicle that has more offroad presense than the base 4x4 models. correct
-
-
I hope So, I think the Z71 option as describe in the press release would definitely add sales.
-
OK but what about this from the Press Relaese:
"The available Z71 package (available later in 2006) takes this aggressive look to the next level. It includes a specifically designed three-piece fascia with a protective, platinum chrome skid plate. It has larger tow hook openings; larger, more prominent fog lamps; and specific grille texture and platinum chrome grille trim. Eighteen-inch wheels and tires also are part of the package. "
Certainly it should have a more offroad presense than the the regular 4x4 models.

I know the Z71 option will be come available later this year, will pictures surface anytime soon?
