  1. I am not a huge fan of the segment, but with fuel costs they need to be competing, so I am going to have to say Trax first I like the chunky quasi-rugged SUVishness of it. 2nd place Beat, the headlights a crazy long, but fit with the car. And I am going to have to agree that there is too much Scion Xb on the Groove.

  2. Eh, it has some of the face of the current Mark-X in its grill, a car that I hadn't seen before I came to Japan, I am not so sure if they sell it in Europe.

Not my bag, but it for sure is not the worst they have ever done.

  3. I have to say, I see a lot of Cougar, and a goofy looking face. I like the profile, and the back seems well put together, the headlights are even ok. But it looks like they ran out of ideas on the front fascia...sad.

  4. Something about that upper lip on the front bumper that I am not do sure about, but other than that what a slick looking rig. The interior is nice, the profile has a nice stance, and I like the taillights too.

    Should sell well.

  5. Well at least it is not Toyota right?

As far as Japanese auto makers go Nissan is my favorite, so I think that a partnership with them could be alright. Also before they started working with Renault Nissan was having its fair share of problems, so I could see that experience being useful for GM now.

p.s. I am in Tokyo on foreign exchange, and my host family drives an old Mini rover...how pimp

  6. Eh, not too bad, need to see a direct side profile shot. I could definitely see how it would look better in person.

I think the people that like the look of their truck to be a bit more laid back will like it. My dad is usually a Chevy guy, but he likes the new F-150 over the current Silverado because he doesn't like all of the sharp angles on the Chevy.

I think it will do pretty good, would like to see what an SS would look like.

  7. Know theyself, and know the competition: so I went and browsed a few stang sites to see what they were saying about the Saleen cop car and the Camaro.

The general consensus seems to be: the stang looks good, but they like the Camaro a lot too.

    and I quote:

I love the Mustang and all but that Camaro is just killer!

  8. I think we are definitely seeing a car that is far closer to production than the concept. Take a look at the molding around the shifter, the radio looks more production, the molding around the center gauges and the console that extends back. Here is a side by side:

The steering wheel still looks good :)

Edit, just noticed that what we can see of the pedals on the yellow car look a lot like the pedals in the current GTO. Also, unlike the concept, there is a knob to the left of the wheel for the lights.

  9. One of the pictures posted in that link by Supremus looks through the drivers side window.

Here is the link look most of the way down the page, you can see the Saleen plate on there too.

After taking another look at it, it looks like they still have the "deep dish" gauge frame in the dash, but there are different gauges behind there, and it doesnt look like it really line up.

Cool pics either way, it looks pretty sweet in yellow.

    Edit: ZOMG double post

  10. Am I the only one seeing the Saleen license plate on the back of the Camaro!?! I know that Roush has done some Pontiacs, is this perhaps a glimpse of the future? Also on that interior shot the gauges look like they have some GTO on em, they look like they went for the colormatch, maybe this is a look at a more near to production Camaro interior? :idhitit:

I got to ride in one of the 05 Saleen 3 valves, pretty neat car. Looks like it is gonna be a sweet movie.

  11. Im not quite up to par on my kanji(will be for sure after a summer in Tokyo though), but yeah, on the right side it says "Honda A-(the cut off the -ccord part)", and that bit in the rainbow box says ultra something or other.

Seeing as how I am not a fan of the new Civic at all...this "new Accord" doesn't appeal to me either.

  12. I should be out of college for a year or 2 by the time that the Camaro comes out, so as soon as I have the cash...count me in for sure.

I got to ride in an 05 S218 Saleen 'stang a while back(pretty good sounding car, and if I had to get a Mustang, it would have to be one of those), which only made me want a new Camaro to stomp to stomp it into the ground.

Get it out Lutz, we are all waiting with checkbook in hand, and if this beats the Challenger to market all the better.

  13. Yeah, the red one doesnt look quite right to me either, the "hips" are too wide...but I would take the engine any day.

At any rate, the prospect of specialty built 5th gens, Roush, SLP, Baldwin-Motion, and who ever else, is quite a happy thought. I saw an '06 Roush Mustang stage II the other day and got to thinking about how much more awesome a specialty Camaro would be.
