I like the Cutlass Supremes of that era a LOT more than the Cutlass Ciera. We had a UPS brown 83 Cutlass Ciera with a V6. It definetely wasn't a rocket.

I think NASCAR jumped the shark when:

1. Restrictor plates became mandatory at Daytona and Talladega in the 90s.

2. Toyota stock cars came on the scene.

3. The Southern 500 Labor day race at Darlington was replaced by a race at California Speedway.

4. Rockingham and North Wilksboro speedways were closed.

I Liked the scene in "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" where George Carlin (Rufus) played an Eddie Van Halen style guitar solo towards the end of the movie.

How about the multiple flags emblem on Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera models.

Other bad 80's GM Cars and engines include:

1. Cadillac V8-6-4: That variable displacement engine was conceived during rising gasoline prices in the early 80's. Crude technology kept it from being reliable.

2. Oldsmobile (and other GM cars) powered by the 5.7 Olds diesel: That engine was a true boat anchor.

3. Cadillac Cimarron: Who wants to pay $12,000 for a rebadged version for the not so wonderful Chevy Cavalier.

Here is my top 10 list of nerdmobiles.

1. Cadillac Cimarron: What was Cadillac thinking when they cloned the Chevy Cavalier.

2.Cadillac Catera: The Edsel of the late 90s.

3.Chevy Nova: Nova in Spanish means " It wont go."

4. Ford Festiva and Aspire:Found on Road Dead.

5.Ford Pinto.

6.AMC Pacer: The world's ugliest car.

7. Hyundai Excel.

8. Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera: The epitome of a nerdy family car.

9.Toyota Tercel.

10. Yugo: It's either Yugo or you don't. More likely you don't

I Saw a 1980s Pontiac Fiero with Ferrari badges and logos in the parking lot at Barnes & Noble

Did you guys see the Spider-man movies? Ben Parker (Peter's uncle) drove a yellow 1972 Oldsmobile Delta 88 and there is a grey 1980s Cutlass Ciera parked in front of the neighbor Mary Jane's house.

In Bakersfield, The general manager at Mimi's Cafe drives a grey Sky and she likes it.

In Bakersfield CA,we have: 1. Sangera Mercedes-Benz/Volvo/Subaru. 2. Haddad Dodge/Kia.(They even sold Daewoos from 1999-2002.) 3. Bakersfield Chrysler/Jeep/Mazda/Mitsubishi.(The Mitsubishi and Mazda dealers are separate.) 4.Motor City GMC/Pontiac/Buick/Saturn/Lexus. (Saturn and Lexus are in separate showrooms.) 5. Nissan/BMW of Bakersfield. 6. Three Way Chevrolet/Cadillac/Hummer/Saab. (Chevrolet and Hummer have their own showrooms). Last but not least, There is a dealer called Family Motors that sells Volkswagen, Porsche and Hyundai from the same showroom. An odd combination.

Over the years,California had a wide variety of license plates. Here are some examples: 1. In the 1950s they were yellow with black numbers/letters and went like this WEV519 and B 45 248. 2. In the 60s, the colors were reversed. 3. in the 70s and early 80s California plates were blue and yellow. Initially they were 813 KOE and 25 864 W, then 1BWM661 and 1V48121. 4. In the late 80s. California plates changed to a white background with dark blue characters. They had CALIFORNIA with a sunset background and "the golden state at the bottom. That changed to red CALIFORNIA lettering in about 89. 5. In 1994 the CALIFORNIA lettering was changed to cursive and these are the plates used today

Have you guys seen the movie Waynes World 2? That movie featured an AMC Pacer streached into a limousine. It can be seen at the end of the movie.

Any large SUV or van would make a perfect "love wagon."
