  1. Did you not read the two posts by me calling this conversation back on topic from global economics to inaccuracy in hp/mpg figures?

You were banned once for reigniting arguments after they were settled, want to go for two?

  2. Do you have any clue as to the wants and desires of American car buyers during this time period of transition since the early 70's ? Can you possibly concieve the difference in approach to the automobiel at US standards compared to Europe and Asia. It was a huge machine of both manufactureing and consumer wants that needed to be turned around. Domestic auto makers tried to be all things to all markets while anything across the waters only needed to improve what they were already doing. GM was damned when they did and damned when they didnt, just think about it. Here we needed to rethink, downsize, reclimatize, adjust...you names it. I believe its bullshit to call it complacency and ignorance, Domestics have had people on both sides pulling on their arms. I could write pages about the transition and how it was met by the mass buying American public.....thats your blind eye right there, you can not see the whole picture of how all this came to be. You simply want to blame it on " incompetence from previous years" or our American labor force. Acting like nothing decent ever came out of the American auto industry, nothing was ever spent on developement or tecnology. Bologna ! You too have a blind eye ! Theres no blind eyes here, just hope and team spirit.......I dont like your team.

As for your stupid and I mean STUPID capitolistic views........ if capitolism is so frigin great.....how come we have all our airlines going bankrupt ?.......how come bankrupcy lawyers are in the most profitable business in the USA ? and how can you have a "global" capitolistic system in place in this country when clearly the economics of all other countries we are forcing our laborers to compete with live in a far cheaper and far more primitive socioty...People like you that want to turn the clocks back in the US to the days prior to the great depression make me sick.........I though we were an advanced socioty ? What is it we are so advanced at.........shooting ourselfs in the foot and not missing ? Humping foreigners and their products and economies then bitching about our declining industries, local economies and ever expanding inner city insanity ?

You get back what you give for investment, you wanna invest your money and efforts into promoting foreign products and foriegn welfare, live with yourself and at the same time you better learn to live with those like me that believe in our own people and products and economies.

Im so faulking sick of hearing about free economies and globalization.....I COULD JUST SCREAM !!!!!!!

Do you think it is normal that 80% of the world's ressources and wealth is held by 20% of the world's population? I think that it is just normal that the rest of the third world countries are catching up and claming what is rightly due.

I think most americans dont remember what it is being poor and having nothing to loose. Those that were around in the early 30's will tell you how it was and how much this society has forgotten those times. The days of over spending, over comsuption of natural ressources for useless things are changing, and the rest of the world will be catching up forcing alot of people to rethink there life style. This type of society of not going to stay for long, so be prepared.

    Flame on!

  3. I don't see Taurus in there at all.

That being said, stlye wise, I don't really see it as an improvement, or a step back.
Those wheels look to be identical to the ones from the old TL/CL Type S.

Ya, they are CL Type S rims, and i too do not like them on this car. On the CL-S, they looked good! The old ones where better.

  4. Or, an even more relavant question is how quickly can you get the car into that RPM range...

The most annoying thing about the S2000 is that you have to FedEx a request for WOT to the butterfly a week in advance in ordcer to get the power when you want it. Okay I'm grossly exagerating for effect but the truth is it annoys me to have to wait like 3.75 seconds in order ofr the car to reach it's powerband at WOT.

If I'm sitting in my Camaro at idle at a red light and it turns green, from the moment I push that gas pedal down to the floor to the car tearing up the rear tires mercilesly is only about 0.25 seconds. Basicaly it's INSTANT. And FYI my Camaro's 350 is setup & cammed to reach peak horsepower at relatively high rpms. The engine only really starts turning at about 4500 and redlines at 7000rpm. I've run the car at 7100 for a sec. or two before. In a life or death situation I'm sure 8000 would not kill it.

These new cars (Hondas in particular) seem to have a serious delay. It's like there's a blockage in the fel line or something. Even BMWs (I'm a BMW fan myself) have a serious delay in throttle response.  <_<

I am sorry, but you just cannot compare a small 4/6 cyl sport econo car to a big V8 muscle car! Sure the torque is going to be way down low on your camaro, you have the displacement to make power down low. Smaller car engines just cannot do that, short of Force Induction, so they need to make power by reving, hence the delay in power. You are comparing completly different cars from completly different categories.
