  1. <_<  I so disagree with you.  The Lucerne while a nice car is just another boring conservative dullmobile.  The Charge is hot, this is a love or hat car.  Some thing GM has yet to realize.  Perfect case in Point is the Escalade, no longer a distinct hot ride, but a clear rebadge of Tahoe and Yukon.  Yukon, what the hell is up with that ugly Auto.  Only SUV they got right was the Tahoe.  Even the Avalanche they just did a dumb copy of Tahoe.  No longer distinct vehicles that will sell but a blander tho much higher quality product line.

By all merits, I took my coworker who was a nissan only owner due to his father who worked and just retired from Nissan and we test drove all 3 SUV's.  He needs a larger vehicle for family, camping and towing.  We'll clearly the New Yukon Denali is the one to get.  Not much differant than the Escalade.  Only a few items missing but much cheaper for the Denali XL over the ESV here in Seattle.

Yet the design of the exteror is butt ugly.

The only Vehicles they have right in my book are the Caddilac CTS, STS, DTS and XLR along with the Corvette, Tahoe and New Camero.  The Cobalt also is a must mention for a hot ride.  Other wise currenlty the new vehicles are just not that inspiring.  My dad just bought a Colorado and while nice it is far short of what it should be.  Interior trim is a disapointment, Exterior fit and finish still needs work.

Born and raised american in Seattle will continue to support my american companies to keep the profits here but also a strong critic as I know GM can still get better.

Last Grip, when will they wake up and put that ugly onstar / satellite antenna in the middle of the roof rather than over the driver.  This truly looks like an after thought, cheap ass job done by Best buy or circuit city.  This should either be center in the front or center in the rear to clean up the exterior over all apperiance.

I believe the antenna can't be centered because of the overhead console. The G6 has the antenna centered in the front because it doesn't have a large over head console. On the SUV's you don't want the antenna mounted on the back because it can get in the way of loading items onto the roofrack.

  2. I saw a production Black Aura XE with the base wheels at the Merchant Mart in Chicago yesterday. There is some kind of high-end kitchen/ cabinet expo going on over there and looks like Saturn has the car on display in the main hallway. Sorry didn't have a camera with me. It look really good in person. If anyone is from the Chicago area, head over and get some pics. I was there for a seminar and I am no longer there. (Mercahndise Mart across from Chicago Sun Times on Wacker and Orleans/Franklin.)

  3. I don't really see anything wrong with the picture. GTP model is OK, Rubber antenna is OK, dual exhaust is OK, XM radio antenna is OK, Spoiler and CHMSL is OK. Only thing I can think of is the interior seat color. At first, I thought they did't make a solid tan leather interior, but upon closer inspection the interior in the picture is the taupe cloth interior or maybe not???? I though taupe was a little more grey. So if there is something wrong it's the interior seat color, although I'm not fully convinced that there is anything wrong. <_<

  4. Here's a quote from GM media; Cadillac Escalade models feature an exclusive luxury interior, including a unique instrument panel, instrumentation (with continuously lit white-LED backlighting), seats, door trim and center console. Escalade also receives enhanced premium materials and features, such as unique instrument lighting, fabric-covered interior pillars, available heated and cooled front seats and an available heated steering wheel (also available on Yukon Denali models). Escalade models also offer enhanced radio systems and an available DVD entertainment system that includes flip-down screens for the second- and third-row occupants
  5. Where did you hear that?

Doubt it, there's always some outlandish rumor about an upcoming GM interior and all of them failed. This takes the cake...

I expect the same layout as the other GMT's with a bit more polish. That's all.

I also read somewhere that the new interior will be manufactured by the same company that produced the Maybach and will feature some granite surfaces. I hope it's different then the other GMT900, (not that there is anything wrong with the new interiors) just to be different and more upscale. I'll post the article if I find it somewhere.
  6. Yep, here's some more "real-world" ones:

The FINALLY body-colored side strips on the base models look much better, as do the new steering wheel and chrome pieces.

Check out the wheels. The 06 Maxx has the new steel wheels with hupcaps that have openings to make them look like aluminum. I had a 2006 Maxx rental and was surprised to find out those were actually hubcaps.
