  1. Saturn as a concept was flawed from the beginning. Why would GM create an import fighting brand with a unique working relationship with the UAW when they should have been employed that basic strategy across the entire company. Instead they wasted billions in the process and have nothing to show for it.

  2. IMO

GM Design walks all over Chrysler. The execution, level of detail, and concept-to-production execution is head and shoulders over the Challenger.

And I LOVE the interior. I have a strong feeling that many will to, once they have had some seat time.

The first pictures don't do it justice.

Go see this start up animation: http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro/multimedia/

+1 to that!!! The level of execution is far behind what we're used to from GM. You'll all flip when you see it in person on the streets, it's ridiculous! Pictures don't do it justice.

  3. Not my cup of tea at all I'm afraid, I think Ford's Mustang has more attractive "retro" styling. A droptop however would improve the looks dramatically for me.

That said, the Camaro's interior looks diabolically cheap and nasty - and again, trumped by the Mustang.

You'd think otherwise if you've actually seen it in person. The Mustang is pure junk inside, even in pre-production trim, this Camaro was far nicer and had much better materials.

  4. Holy cow... pictures don't do it justice! I just got back from the unveil and to see it in person and in natural lighting is phenomenal. If anyone is in the Detroit area, just head down to Main Street in Royal Oak and it'll be out in public for all to see.

  5. C'mon guys, anyway think of questioning the authenticity of these photos? Jalopnik only care about getting hits from getting information and photos out, not its accuracy. The upper right-hand photo is the most damning, indicating that these are fakes and proxies as part of the survey. Compare the rear window slope versus existing spy photos of the actual car and you can see the huge difference. GM is not stupid enough to let actual photos of the production car go out on some print survey material.

  7. Aside from the last one, I don't see how any of these questions can help you narrow a search for such a position. Having worked in said positions, nobody in the industry has ever seriously asked any of these questions (excepting the last one).

First question: personal. Why would you care what the perspective analyst would buy? Are you planning on supplying said vehicle as part of the employment package? If so, let's talk.

Second question: too pinpoint. All vehicle introductions are significant for one reason or another. Perhaps "why is [insert particular vehicle name here] going to be a significant introduction?"

Third question: far too pinpoint. Is GM asking you how to correct the Aura's marketing or make the vehicle better?

Ah-ha, good luck finding someone. More power to you.

Man.... you need to loosen up. I'm just putting this out there as a unique opportunity for people who might not even be aware of such career choices. The questions aren't the point, understanding people's response and logic is. :AH-HA_wink:

  8. First off, how's everyone doing? I still hang around, but unfortunately don't participate anywhere near the levels I used to.

I'm sure I wasn't the only car geek out there that wanted to turn my life's passion into a full-time career. I've been fortunate enough to be involved in this business for quite sometime and have obtained all my auto related positions due mostly to my sheer enthusiasm and understanding vehicles and of the market.

Now's here you're chance. There is an opening to work with me (trust me, no big thrill hanging with me) as a forecast analyst for the North American market. If you're interested and preferably live in Michigan and have a strong desire to get into the auto industry as an analyst and have excellent computer skills, drop me a line and take the below AH-HA challenge.

    1) You have $30,000, no more, to buy a new vehicle. What do you get and why?

    2) What do you consider the most significant debut in the US market over the next 12 months?

    3) You see the Saturn Aura is not taking off and doing as well as expected. Inventory levels and incentives are rising, what course of action would you envision GM take?

    4) What do you see as a the next big trend?

    Thanks guys!

  9. GM Announces Seven World Intros for New York

General Motors will roll into the New York International Auto Show press days April 4 and 5 with one of its strongest lineups of production and concept cars in recent history.

In addition to the closely guarded world concept that will debut at 9:40 a.m. on April 4 at the GM stand, six production models will make their world premieres; the Saab E100 concept will be revealed for the first time in North America, and another 11 future production models and futuristic concepts will pack the stand with news.

  10. SRX is as good as burnt toast, it ain't happening. That said, we still have the BRX, CTS Wagon and possibly another crossover, though that is still very undefined. For now, lets just let taps play for the SRX. :AH-HA_wink:

  11. Gee! Since when did CAPTAIN OBVIOUS get here?

Duh! If you even knew me, you would understand that was the point, it is so obvious. Too many people act like this is something they haven't seen before when it's just a car we're all familiar with. The same goes for Astra, it's the same damn car.
