  1. Got 28K miles on mine...exact same truck. Besides some computer re-flashes (I am told this thing has over a dozen on board computers), it has been rock solid. Get between 16-17 mpg average.
  2. Drive them both before you anny up. You'll be sorry you SETTLED for the 4 speed.
  3. Get the Denali. The 6 speed is worth it. I had a 02 and an 03 Avalanche with the 5.3 and the 4 speed. The 6.2L 6-speed is so much better, with the same mileage. I love mine. I bet you can get the loaded Denali for just a couple grand more than the loaded LTZ Burb.
  4. oh..and good luck with the ESV. Nice choice. Dare I ask what you had to give for that puppy? If you would prefer privacy...I understand. I have 4K miles now on my Denali and I love it. I towed a fairly heavy load the other day (about 4500 pounds). That 6 speed is awesome. The tow-haul downshift mode behaves just like my Father's diesel. The only problem I have with my truck is a nagging "Service Suspension System" message that appears on the info panel every few days. Gotta get it in for that.
  5. I set up my onStar with my Verizon calling plan, but I don't use it much. There is no caller-id on the OnStar phone!! Another shortsight/nosight.
  6. From what I read the AFM is more marketing hype than anything. V-4 mode is only in effect when going downhill basically, or coasting to a stop. Once stopped, it goes back in V-8 mode for smooth idleing. So for those of us stuck in bumper to bumper traffic a lot, AFM is useless. Read the Tahoe boards- people are only getting 16 - 17 MPG for the most part. Thats funny...I am getting that in my non-AFM 6.2L with the 6 speed.
  7. I got a fully loaded 07 XL Denali for 52K. I would be surprised if you can get a loaded ESV for less than 67-68K. That is a huge difference. To me the 6 speed tranny was a must have. It is sooo awesome. Shifts quicker and firmer than an other american made tranny I have driven. It makes the vehicle drive "lighter" because the engine is not so stressed. Very impressive. If you go with the Burb or the regular XL you are stuck with the 4 speed.
  8. Just bought a new 07 Denali XL. My door jambs are painted, but I do see some very light paint coverage under the hood and in the inner fender wells. Does not bother me though. The overall quality of this vehicle seems awesome. If this is one of the only shortcomings...I will live with it! This is the first truck/SUV that I have ever owned that actually feels SPORTY. This new engine/tranny combo is very impressive.
  9. The NAV radio with Rear Ent is still holding up orders, so I was able to get one with the Voice Rec. NAV and NO rear ent. system. I'll have to add the read DVD later. This machine is awesome. I love the 6.2L engine and the 6 speed tranny. Only have 130 miles on it so far. Seems much more responsive than the old 5.3 in my (traded in) Avalanche. The computer claims I am getting 14.2 MPG so far. I can't complain about that.
  10. I would be happy to have mine, even with missing paint! I am on my 10th week waiting for a Xl Denali now. How do you like the truck otherwise? Hows the power? Tranny? What options do you have? I hear the delay on my truck is due to some of the options I want..like the Nav, heated steering wheel...etc... Aparently there is a "hold" on these options still.
  11. ...and a power folding FLAT 3rd row.
  12. Gilbert- Have you seen any XL Denali(s) come through yet? The wait is really killing me now. Maybe I should just go buy a Ford.
  13. There was a 95% hold on NAV radios. I hear there is still at 30% hold, but now there are some trucks coming off the line again WITH NAV. The Avalanche I saw yesterday was loaded, but did NOT have NAV. The Burb DID have Nav. I have had a Yukon XL Denali on order now for 8 weeks. Fully loaded. I hear the NAV was holding up my order, but now it will be produced this week. Finally! I can't wait any longer!
  14. They both look awesome. What an improvement. I have an 03 Avalanche, and I would buy the 07 in a heartbeat if I were in the market.
