  1. Sorry, I will not get the Denali. A. It's more than I want to spend. B. I CAN NOT stand the front of the GMC LOL sorry.

Drive them both before you anny up. You'll be sorry you SETTLED for the 4 speed.

  2. Get the Denali. The 6 speed is worth it. I had a 02 and an 03 Avalanche with the 5.3 and the 4 speed. The 6.2L 6-speed is so much better, with the same mileage.

    I love mine.

I bet you can get the loaded Denali for just a couple grand more than the loaded LTZ Burb.

  3. oh..and good luck with the ESV. Nice choice. Dare I ask what you had to give for that puppy? If you would prefer privacy...I understand.

I have 4K miles now on my Denali and I love it. I towed a fairly heavy load the other day (about 4500 pounds). That 6 speed is awesome. The tow-haul downshift mode behaves just like my Father's diesel.

The only problem I have with my truck is a nagging "Service Suspension System" message that appears on the info panel every few days. Gotta get it in for that.

  4. From what I read the AFM is more marketing hype than anything. V-4 mode is only in effect when going downhill basically, or coasting to a stop. Once stopped, it goes back in V-8 mode for smooth idleing. So for those of us stuck in bumper to bumper traffic a lot, AFM is useless.

Read the Tahoe boards- people are only getting 16 - 17 MPG for the most part. Thats funny...I am getting that in my non-AFM 6.2L with the 6 speed.

  5. I got a fully loaded 07 XL Denali for 52K. I would be surprised if you can get a loaded ESV for less than 67-68K. That is a huge difference.

To me the 6 speed tranny was a must have. It is sooo awesome. Shifts quicker and firmer than an other american made tranny I have driven. It makes the vehicle drive "lighter" because the engine is not so stressed. Very impressive.

If you go with the Burb or the regular XL you are stuck with the 4 speed.

  6. Just bought a new 07 Denali XL. My door jambs are painted, but I do see some very light paint coverage under the hood and in the inner fender wells. Does not bother me though. The overall quality of this vehicle seems awesome. If this is one of the only shortcomings...I will live with it!

This is the first truck/SUV that I have ever owned that actually feels SPORTY. This new engine/tranny combo is very impressive.

  7. The NAV radio with Rear Ent is still holding up orders, so I was able to get one with the Voice Rec. NAV and NO rear ent. system. I'll have to add the read DVD later.

This machine is awesome. I love the 6.2L engine and the 6 speed tranny. Only have 130 miles on it so far. Seems much more responsive than the old 5.3 in my (traded in) Avalanche.

The computer claims I am getting 14.2 MPG so far. I can't complain about that.

  8. I would be happy to have mine, even with missing paint!

I am on my 10th week waiting for a Xl Denali now.

How do you like the truck otherwise? Hows the power? Tranny?

    What options do you have?

I hear the delay on my truck is due to some of the options I want..like the Nav, heated steering wheel...etc...

Aparently there is a "hold" on these options still.

  9. There was a 95% hold on NAV radios. I hear there is still at 30% hold, but now there are some trucks coming off the line again WITH NAV. The Avalanche I saw yesterday was loaded, but did NOT have NAV. The Burb DID have Nav.

I have had a Yukon XL Denali on order now for 8 weeks. Fully loaded. I hear the NAV was holding up my order, but now it will be produced this week.

Finally! I can't wait any longer!

  10. I am disgusted and embarrassed that I actually read that article.

I am just glad I have never heard of him or his reviews before this.

Small potatoes here....just ignore him. He probably drives some dilapidated POS that he bought in 1980.

  11. I have a new Denali XL ordered. I hope to get it in the next 4-6 weeks. Just today, I saw the first regular length Denali on a dealer lot here in MD. First one around from what I can tell. There are some slight differences in the detail on the exterior, but basically the same as the reg Yukon. There is a chrome upper and lower grill and different tail lights, and some added chrome strips here and there. I like the appearance of the Escalade better, but the money difference is crazy. My loaded Denali with every option you can get on the Slade (minus cooled front seats) is coming in at 13K LESS than the slade. That is significant.

  12. I just drove an 07 Escalade yesterday. Wow. What a machine. And considering I can get the loaded Denali that is the same vehicle (minus the cooled front seats) for 15K less....I'll take it!

And your right about the drive. I have an 03 Avalanche. Now comparision. The new trucks are quieter, firmer, more comfortable, and the new gadgets/nav/stereos are incredible. I can't wait to simply sit in my new truck in the garage and listen to the Bose sound system (for hours) :)

  13. Can you guys explain more about the NAV/DVD system complaints? I sure hope you don't mean you cannot operate the NAV while in "Drive". That would be ludicrus! ..and how about the XM comment...you can't get XM information while in Drive either? Sounds crazy?

I have an 07 Denali on order with all the goodies. Can't wait!
