  1. GM's estimate for the 1500 equipped with the new Vortec 6.0 liter and four speed transmission is 15/19. There are no estimates listed for the 2500HD with the six speed transmission. GM boast that the six speed will increase gas mileage, but the only way to purchase a six speed at this time is to buy the 2500HD. The extended cab 2500HD weighs approximately 900 lbs more than the 1500 extended cab. Was wondering what kind of mileage to expect from the HD. Anyone driving a HD2500 yet?
  2. Crew cabs have arrived at the dealerships. Regular and extended cabs are soon to follow. Many potential buyers have held out on purchasing the outgoing GMT800 models in lieu of the newer models. Supply and Demand would suggest a dealers market. I would like to know if anyone on this board has bought or discussed pricing on the new Silverados/Sierras? Are the dealerships willing to negotiate or discount the price of the new trucks? If so, how much are they coming down? Thanks, Jim Houston, TX.
  3. I was wondering if anybody knew why the GMC Sierra is priced higher than a compliably equipped Chevy Silverado. Based on MSRG's listed from both websites, the base price for a Chevy Silverado 1LT, 2WD extended cab is $26,860. A Sierra SLE1 3SA, 2WD extended cab lists for $27,455. Unless I am overlooking something, both trucks have the identical features and options. Another price difference is on the Max Trailering Package. Chevy list price is $1,685 and GMC's is $2,265. Both packages are identical. Personally, I prefer the looks of the GMC over the Chevy. I was leaning towards purchasing the Sierra, but Chevy appears to be a better bargain. I will have to admit that the Chevy does look a lot better in person than the first pictures posted here months ago. How does GMC justify charging more for the same truck? Thanks.
