Congrats on the new vehicle. If you want a remote start, be sure to look at aftermarket. You can get some great systems for about 450 installed. 2-way remote and everything. They really work slick.
Thanks.. The problem I'm running into with aftermarket remote start is that factory alarms can't be armed with aftermarket fobs. That means I either have to go without arming the security system, or get a remote start that comes with its own alarm, which gets a bit costly, considering that most places charge an additional $100 just to bypass GM's PassLock system. I decent system will run $500 or more, and I'm just a little hesitant going up that far.

But uh Allen congrats on yours. We need pics!
Oh.. pics... of course!

There ya go :AH-HA_wink:

Did you end up buying one? I just picked one up and love it. Really bummed that you can't install GM remote start on 2006 models, but oh well. Saved decent amount over an '07.

I think it looks pretty sexy, but does anyone else think it looks like it's on the same platform as the Lucerne? Based on the pics I've seen so far, it looks like Buick's sibling with a Chevy treatment. I'm not complaining, either. ..

Here's some more info on that:

Brian,
Awesome idea. Don't mean to poop on the party, but just FYI - CafePress (and most other publishers) will not approve use of car images due to brand logos / badges trademark / copyright issues. That's why many products that have pictures of cars on automotive products have logos / names edited out. Correct me if I'm wrong :AH-HA_wink:
p.s. you may be able to create a calendar and get it published quickly before anyone notices, but if someone flags it before it gets printed, it would end up to be a lot of wasted effort.

In general, whatever you feel makes you car look best. Keep in mind basic lighting rules and lens cap removal, but anything else is up to you. If you want a beautiful city skyline, a grand house, or just an open parking lot as a backdrop, its your choice. Experiment with the angles to make your car look the best and most of all, have fun! Remember, you're free to share as many photos as you'd like, but you may only submit one!
Thanks and GOOD LUCK!

For what it's worth, G6 is getting a new spoiler. I made it red so that you can see it better. I don't know if you're into that sort of thing though... my guess is no

Geez, yesterday I would've thought someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but two days in a row? I dunno man. You seriously think this is worth bickering over?
I went to Pontiac's website, customized the car, took a screenshot of every single angle, edited out all the little arrows and squares that they had on it, cropped the pictures, uploaded to my space... just so that I could show them to you guys who haven't seen it, and this is the thanks I get. Going to have to think twice before posting stuff here again.

"pimped out" wasn't the emphasis of the subject. I wasn't using it in the same sense as you are. I just meant accessorized.

Chrome top/bottom grilles, 18" wheels, ground effects... not bad, not bad at all. I chose different color for ground effects to it's easier to see what's been added.

I'm on the East Coast and my local dealership has a bunch of them (at least 5) that have been there for the last week or two. Ocnblu can confirm or correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for a fair and honest review. I've owned a 2004 Grand Prix and have driven the GXP, so you're pretty much on the money.
-
You guys can call it what you want, but I disagree with everyone who says it's worthless. On the Grand Prix, in factory programmed form, it's a bit on the conservative side because it chimes and cuts fuel just short of the redline (but does NOT shift for you on its own), but that is FOR A REASON. It basically says "DUMBASS, if you want to keep your car for a while, don't push it". Many enthusiasts have had their computers reprogrammed to allow for a bit more agressive mode, which lets you hit redline if you really want to. It's a very simple fix. But either way, the shifts are lightning quick, very crisp on the 4T65E tranny, and you have complete control over it. Granted, 4 gears isn't too much fun, but it is the most fun you could possibly have with a 4-speed tranny. All magazines have admitted that GM's tap-shift is much quicker than most other cars with manumatic shifting, even expensive brands.
I have completely and totally enjoyed having that feature on my 2004 Grand Prix and used Tapshift all the time, especially when driving around curves, hilly areas etc. It was simply awesome. It did everything I would've wanted to do had it been a manual.
Just my 2 cents.

That looks more like Outlook Express. hehe

I've had the HHR for a day, and can't disagree with him on a lot of points, although mainly I was turned off by 'recycled milk jug' dash material and door panels with drilled holes for door-lock pins, but of which are unfortunately true.

Ok... apparently 227 HP is correct. But G6 convertible is tuned to have max torque of 235 at 3000 rpm, while the coupe and sedan get max of 240 at 4600 rpm.
No clue why... but I guess that's just how the cookie crumbles.

Not sure, but you might be right. I just went back through it all and checked all the updates (last one was yesterday) at the end of the actual Print Book ordering guide, and there was no mention of the 227...just 240.
I'm just thinking that of all places that mention 3.9L engine's HP, Pontiac's site is the ONLY place that mentions 227.. in one spot. I'd say that is more likely to be wrong, but at the same time.. where the heck did they get that number from?
 -
Yes, the main frame of the ordering guide needs an update.
[post="58115"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]
Hasn't the ordering guide just been updated with G6 Convertible information? Information on Pontiac's site is older... could be correct, but it's older. -
That's quite heavy, especially considering it has the detuned 227 HP 3900.
I don't know why you guys keep saying detuned 227 HP... The ordering guide says:
Engine, 3.9L 3900 V6 SFI (preliminary 240 HP [179 kW] @ 6000 rpm, 241 lb.-ft [326.5 N-m] @ 2800 rpm) for both GTP coupe and GTP Convertible. -
I couldn't imagine GM sending out one of their most important products that way.
No.. production versions are perfect. -
The big grilles remind me a little of the Maybach Excelero concept..

I don't want to think of Pontiac returning to ridiculous tacked-on "excitement", when it's much purer to incite emotion with sheetmetal, NOT plastic.
Often, cladding was used excessively, with funky ribs and lines, etc. Now that they've completely stripped of it, it's like the car is naked. The body should have been designed close to the picture to begin with, using sheetmetal instead of plastic add-ons. There there wouldn't have been a need for cladding.

Sorry guys... that is false information. G8 GT isn't getting a manual.
