Like many countries, China offers various incentives to spur the sales of electric vehicles. But a report from Bloomberg says the Chinese government is considering reducing various subsidies beginning next year. According to sources, the government is considering cutting the average incentive by more than a third from where they currently stand. Also up for consideration is incentives being eligible on models that can travel at least 200 kilometers (about 125 miles) on a single charge. Why? The government wants automakers to keep innovating by making EVs cheaper and go much further on a

There's a war going on between Cadillac and Lincoln. With the new Navigator, Lincoln has a very compelling alternative to Cadillac's aging Escalade. But Cadillac is fighting back by dumping a bunch of cash on the hood. Bloomberg obtained a memo sent to Cadillac dealers that announces a new promotion where current lease customers of 2016 Escalades are being offered a $10,000 discount on a new Escalade. Owners of 2016 Escalades have to make do with a $7,500 discount. The promotion runs until the end of May. GM Spokesman Jim Cain confirmed the promotion to Bloomberg. This isn't the firs

Canada more Like California Laugh if you will but could it be that British Columbia of Canada is more like California than the rest of Canada? According to CBC News of Canada, EV auto owners are now allowed to travel all of B.C. Provinces HOV lanes passenger free. Premier Christy Clark announced a series of initiatives to get th -
Cadillac's boss Johan de Nysschen has a plan to rehabilitate Cadillac's image. Part of this plan deals with the dealers with tightening inventory and end the sell-at-any-cost mentality. But as Automotive News reports, there is a slight problem as Cadillac's dealer incentive programs promote the opposite. One incentive attaches $700 in dealer bonus money to every Cadillac vehicle they order from the factory, while another has cash payouts for growing sales. “The business model has been structured more for the bigger brands inside General Motors, rather than the small Cadillac brand,” sa

William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com June 11, 2013 At the moment, Chevrolet is currently sitting on a 140-day supply of Volts, more than double the amount supply analysts say is healthy. How is General Motors going to cut down the supply? By piling on incentives! Chevrolet spokeswoman Michelle Malcho tells The Detroit News the company will be offering $4,000 off on 2013 Volts and $5,000 off on 2012 models. Alternatively, you can do a 36-month lease on a Volt for $269 with $2,399 down at signing or can be purchased with zero percent financing for 48 months and receive $3,000 off.
