  5. Nissan’s compact Sentra has been on the market for 35 years. For 2017, Nissan is improving the SR trim which adds a 188 horsepower, turbo-charged direct injection engine. The Sentra’s place in the market is that of a value leader. While it is roughly the size of competitors like the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla, the Sentra is priced against their smaller siblings the Fit and Yaris iA (nee Scion iA). Starting at $21,990, the value equation translates into the SR trim as well. The primary change for the Sentra SR is under the hood. In place of the standard 1.8 liter naturally asp

We saw the introduction of the redesigned Maxima, along with refreshes of the Altima and Sentra. There was one slight problem. Compared to the Maxima which stood out with a sharp design, the Altima and Sentra just existed with no real item of note. But maybe there is something to either model that is hidden away. Wards Auto reports that Nissan is planning to launch more engine options in the near future. “From a product standpoint, in the future you’ll see more engine offerings, and it’s full steam ahead. We’re fully focused on the segment,” said Michael Bunce, director of product planning for Nissan North America. It's unclear as to what other engine options Nissan has in store. We wouldn't be surprised if a turbocharged four-cylinder is one of those options. Nissan is also considering addi

  19. The current Nissan Sentra will be undergoing a midcycle refresh in the next few months and the senior vice president of sales, marketing, and operations, Fred Diaz says the refresh makes it "almost all new. "It will be an incredibly freshened Sentra," said Diaz. The refresh will include number changes to the styling - most likely bringing it in line with the V-Motion language - and enhancements to the technology. Now this an interesting thing to say since the current Sentra is doing quite well. Automotive News reports that Nissan moved 183,268 Sentras last year, up 42 percent when

  21. William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com November 21, 2013 Alongside the new GT-R NISMO, Nissan's performance arm had a couple more surprises up its sleeve at LA Auto Show. First up was a more powerful Juke NISMO called the NISMO RS. The Juke NISMO RS takes the standard Juke's turbocharged and direct-injected 1.6L four-cylinder and boosts it to produce 215 horsepower and 210 pound-feet of torque (211 horsepower and 184 pound-feet when equipped with all-wheel drive and the CVT). This is due to a remapped ECU, stronger connecting rods, and a new exhaust. Transmissions include a six-s

  23. William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com August 31, 2012 Around the same time the New York Auto Show was going on, Nissan released a commercial which had five new vehicles under white sheets. That commerical revealed the new Altima and said five new vehicles would be coming in next year or so.
