  1. Oh wow. My first thought was "maybe the author just doesnt know anything about these engines or the cars they came in". Then I read it again and had a look at the profile and I was sure of it. I have a 1981 024 2.2L 4 speed. No, not alot of power but it gets great gas milage (what it was designed to do) and I have never had to replace the head gasket. The timing belt has broken but every belt does if not replaced. No problem to replace and no piston or valve damage was done. These misguided shots across the bow at Chryco really crack me up. They have built their share of junk but then, so has every other manufacturer. Honda Pilot transmissions?Toyota Tacoma frame rot? Fairmont? Pinto? Citation? Chevette? Go look up the "Iron Duke" and tell me what you find. Give me a break.
