The mild hybrid system sounds awesome, perfect for a truck to add some extra low end torque when starting out.  It is too bad it is coupled to the same V6 and Hemi that have been around for years.

Oddly enough I saw a mid 90s Ram with the V10 Magnum badging the other day and remembered how it made exactly 300 hp which was a big deal when it came out, now a turbo 4 can do that.

I am sure there are updates o the engines that haven't been detailed yet.  In any case, i love the fact they have stayed awa fom DI and carbon issues that come with it while still offering comparable HP and torque to engines with it.

Anyway, i looks fantastic!   I like it more than the current model and the updated F-150, and the 19 Silverado with it's weird side sculpting.  The interior is great, love the updated design and new materials and the fact that every single version gets it's own interior treatment.  They did a great job here.

  2. The angle and color makes it hard to tell, but what it appears, front end is of course all new.  Looks like they have toned down the big ri look a big with taller fenders.  The Hood area still offers the nod to that styling, but is a bit shorter.  I like the cowl induction looking element of the hood, the front fenders look to be slightly flaired out.  i am not sure about the big badge on the side of the hood, but sure it will grow on me.  The cab appears larger than the current quadcab.  the windshield rake is a bit faster while the rest appears a little more squared off.  The body lines or detailing, particularly towards the bottom adds some depth without going gaudy.  The rear bedsides definitely appear to be flared out more.  Like I said, hard to tell too much until we get the reveal.  I am really lookin forward to the New Rebel and hope they show it.

Hope they keep the current DNA strong- don't need 'new for new's sake'. Just minor changes generation-generation.

I agree with this.  The current truck stills sells great even without the extra production capacity they need and will be adding.  it isn't like the F-150, Sierra,  or Silverado have changed all that much in the last few generations, at least on the outside.  If it works, why mess with it?

It looks okay I guess... but it doesn't look like an all new truck. It looks like just a nose job on the existing truck.   Remember when GM did that with the 2014 Silverado? It was all new, but most people thought it was just a refreshed 2013.

I don't think it actually hurt it's sales and I really liked the return to the nostalgic front end design with the split headlights.

Just hearing about a markup is annoying though. I don't feel like there is a big enough hardcore Kia fanbase willing to pay a premium for them. I hope that doesn't discourage people from buying them down the road.

I also wouldn't want that red.. not a pretty shade, imo.

I just looked on Autotrader and within 300 miles of me there are ONLY blue ones available..WTF?

Not a big red fan myself.  The color Pallet seems very limited, seems like 5 colors are available and sadly no sharp grey.

Every single manufacturer markets crap like that.

It is still  the "affordable Tesla".

Seems pretty obvious that those people weren't in line for the 35k one if they were originally planing to buy, at minimum, a 74k Model S.

Are most cars bought at the bare bones base model at the least possible price or are there more LS, LT, and Premier Malibus running around?  Or are most of them base model, "L" trims? Same with trucks(excluding work trucks for obvious reasons) there are easily more LT and up trim trucks out there than LS. No way were 75% of these buyers planning to spend 35k before tax incetive. I'd bet most planned to spend 35k AFTER tax incentive.

I just hope enough sell to have a good used market to choose from.

    Indeed

Exactly... there's nothing wrong with it. It's looks are subjective but the performance of the 3.3T speak for itself. Plus, the inside looks fantastic, if you ask me. I like the ATS but i think if I had 40k to spend on one of them I'd get the Stinger GT.

The "base" GT plus AWD is $41,xxx. LED headlights, Brembo brakes, limited slip diff(on the RWD one), etc... I'd take that for 40k.

That markup is a joke though. Give it a few months of slow sales and that will become a discount, hahaha.

Agree al the way and should be a hell of a value on the used market.

A lot of enthusiasts hate it because it's a Kia but I think it is a damn good looking car and it's a sport sedan, what's really not to like about it?

I sent pictures to my brother and he said "but it's a Kia".  I like his ATS, don't get me wrong, but I would take that Loaded kia Stinger GT.  It is topped out at 52k.  The dealer had a 5k markup on it which made me laugh a bit.

I also think the 2.0T version offers a nice alternative to the higher trimmed level family sedans like the Accord, Malibu, Camry, Fusion, Legacy, Regal, Mazda6 etc.

Very true, for what it is 31k is a steal for the 2.0T RWD

  8. I have lots of experience with my brother's ATS coupe and it is quite small inside, no doubt smaller than the sedan that is usually tested.  That is one of the drawbacks of that fantastic coupe styling.  The front seats are fine, the rears are basically useless.  The trunk is also quite small.  His is the the Premium performance I believe and it is loaded, including all the safety suites.  It has the magnetic ride which is great, though still a little stiff, I wouldn't deem the ride rough or brittle.  His is a 15 so it has the older 6 speed auto.  Fortunately it is not as slow witted as the new 8 speed seems to be.  His is the V6 of course and I would actually prefer it here.  It also has AWD.

  9. Honestly, I will wait until it debuts.  like Ford and Chevy i am sure there will be different grills avail.  I just hope it isn't like the 15 Chevy where one detail, the funky curved line at the front, completely ruins it for me.

You can see what I am talking about and that front end isn't exactly causing me to rave either.

So far the Camry is winning in sales vs the new Accord.  It gets good reviews but the Accord gets better ones.
TNGA  based RAV4, Corolla and Prius-V should be here in the next 18 months.

I wonder if maybe Honda is still in the process of ramping up Accord production for the new model?  The drop was huge for December.  If I was looking in the midsize market right now it would be a tossup between the Camry and Accord, preferably a Camry XSE V6 or Accord Touring 2.0T.  Each with it's pros and cons for me.  This is something I would have never thought just a few years ago.  I am curious about the TNGA Corolla.  Give it a decent powertrain and some nice design and it could really be something nice in the category.

I can’t believe they still make the Sequoia and Land Cruiser, I feel like the last major update to those was in 2005.

Time to close up shop on the Lexus GS and LS, those 2 are in the tank and the LS is a new model and it is down 50%!  I guess that predator grille is scaring people away.

I am pretty sure the new LS isn't out yet.....

Wow, the new Camry must really be hitting some vibes.  One of my coworkers got a pearl white XLE and loves it and it actually looks good in the flesh!

  12. The Stelvio just came out and the Giulia sales are pretty well par for the course.  Fiat is either older (out years before they hit the US) or versions of something else so they aren't really losing anything.  Jeep was down some, mainly on the heels of the loss of the Patriot.  Ram sales are great considering it is the oldest fullsize on the block next to the Tundra with a new one coming this year.

Also looked at Ford and GM now, um, Challenger still outsold the Camaro and Buick and  Cadillac seem to be on life support.
