  1. I'm not saying I don't like a 4-door Charger just because it has 4-doors. I'm saying I don't like them trying to style a 4-door Charger like a 2-door. The kickup in front of the rear wheelwells and the shape of the rear roofline look awkward to me. If it had a roofline more like the 300, I'd like the looks more. Personally, I would've loved to see it with 2 longer front doors and 2 shorter suicide rear doors much like the RX-8. Any idea if a convertible Challenger is being planned or at least considered?
  2. The Challenger is what the Charger should have been. Personally, I think the Magnum was ugly and I won't be sorry to see it go. If they're prepared to build a large, RWD V8 coupe now, why did they slap the Charger badge on a 4-door? They could've called both the sedan and wagon the Magnum and not dragged the Charger nameplate through the mud. I love this Challenger concept. I hope they don't change it too much if they decide to produce it. It will need a different interior though. I think the one in the concept is rather ugly but I'm digging the pistol grip shifter. Any rumors on whether it'll have the 6-speed as in the concept or will they only use the 5-speed the 300 and Charger SRTs get?
  3. I'm disappointed in it. This was my favorite vehicle and I feel they could've done a much better job. There are just too many things on it, like the front turn signals, that look odd. They moved the beltline up noticabley, the front end doesn't taper down to the grille as much as it used to, the tailights look strange with all that black plastic, they used a lot more plastic on the front fenders and bumpers, there's a large gap behind the roll bar end and the tailgate, the hood is much flatter and has lost the nice bulge it had, there are big leaf-catching recesses where the wipers are mounted, the door sills are lower thus provideing less protection against water, and the black plastic (why so much plastic?) tailgate hinge covers are ugly as well. It may still be the most rugged vehicle in it's class, but just barely. I used to consider the Wrangler in a class of it's own, but now it's just another SUV.
  4. I'm an avid Jeep fan and even I have to admit the Jeep is dying. I'll agree the H1 is the only genuine Hummer and it's far more capable than even a Wrangler Rubicon, but it also costs over three times as much. Still the Wrangler is smaller and more nimble and will still go places the Hummer won't fit. The Compass signals the death of Jeep. Personally, I think things started going downhill with the Liberty, but the Compass is the last straw. I think Jeep will lose more buyers than it will gain by watering down its image. The '07 Wrangler is probably still the most capable vehicle in it's class, but it's losing the character that model has had since the CJ. At least they made the Rubicon TJ before they ruined it with the new '07. Hopefully the new H2 will be truer to its Hummer roots than the Wrangler is. I think a hybrid version would be fantastic. I'm eager to see more diesels and diesel/electric hybrid vehicles out there, especially in SUVs.
