  1. Am I the only one who thought that the Hurst Hauler was cool? If I had a Trans Am I'd consider that hatch just to do something different. As for the Kappa hard tops, I saw the Solstice version in person at the NAIAS, the Sky was just a rendering then. I think it adds a ton of utility to the equation, and might actually add sales for the Kappa twins if folks need cargo capacity.
  2. This idea is neither new, nor unique. My '67 C10 has a heavy-duty rear axle option and has both a removable ring and pinion and an inspection cover. Ever heard of the Ford 9-inch? It's the most popular rear-end housing for racing, hot rods, 4x4s, and just about every aftermarket application. The advantage is quick gear changes. You can carry ring and pinions already assembled in the carrier and change them as conditions warrant. I don't see how anyone could bash the Tundra based on this aspect, styling yes, but not the rear axle. It's got a huge ring gear, so unlike some trucks out there (Titan) it will likely hold up well to abuse. I think it's one of the truck's best features.
  3. I don't know what engineer you talked to, but he was wrong. I don't know why the number got leaked, the embargo is still on for another month and a half.
  4. Hey toyoguy, that's not a giant gap, and it's the inner wheelwell. It gets pummeled with rocks, mud, etc. Have you taken a close look at a new Tundra, or driven one for that matter. I have. I doubt you went over the Tundra with such a fine-toothed comb looking for the slightest defects either. Finally, you're at a GM fansite and you're fighting an uphill battle. Give it up.

I'm not saying it's not there, it's just that the flat black scoop looks wierd from the front 3/4, like it's finish is uneven. Maybe it's new stealth bodywork designed to make your job harder.

Am I the only one who thinks the bulge or scoop looks photoshopped? It looks awful blurry to me, only the profile shot looks decent.
  7. The Chevy also won in the driving/towing shootout in Truckin' magazine. Any one of these three can do amazing things with aftermarket tuners and a few bolt-ons though.
  8. The only way I could see an Ecotec in a Camaro is if they resurrected the straight six in passenger cars. I'd be all for a straight six Ecotec in displacements anywhere from 3.0l to 3.6l. Just think, a supercharged or turbocharged 3.0l making north of 300hp and an NA 3.6l making about 275hp. There would probably be very few cars that would have a hood and engine compartment long enough to hold a straight six though, but it would be nice and nostalgic. Base: 3.6l I-6 275hp RS: 3.0l I-6 direct injection turbo 350hp Z/28 5.4l V8 (LS2 block with 4.8 crank) 375hp SS: 6.2l V8 425hp ZL1: 7.0l V8 500hp Oh, and I think I read somewhere that the first gen Camaro was supposed to include a sedan and wagon. Am I the only one here that thinks a first gen Camaro wagon (2-door) would kick *ss? By the way Sixty8panther, you were right about that being a nice pic, but I think the photographer should have rolled the other window up, not the 1/4 window down.
