  1. Unfortunately buying a brand new Buick is out of the question for me at the moment. I have been doing some used car shopping and found a 2003 Century that seems great. Like all Century's it has the 3100 V6. Can anyone give me some feedback on this motor? I have had other vehicles that have the old tried and true 3800... is the 3100 as good? I haven't been able to find a whole lot of info (good or bad) on it.
  2. I know the LaCrosse is considered boring or whatever, but I think the new grill makes a world of difference. I was going to hold out till the end of the year for the great incentives on an '07, but now I am really thinking about an '08. I know no one likes the interior, but it is okay with me... has plenty of room for me... and is a hell of a lot better than my S-10... yeah, it is kinda basic, but it gets the job done and that is all I expect for low to mid 20ks. Here is my problem with GM cars these days... the colors! The Cadillac DTS comes in like three colors of silver and I cannot get one Chevy or Buick in green. The Mocha is a good change for next year and a boldish step in the right direction, but they really need step it up here... an '08 LaCrosse in the light green color the Saab 9-3 has would really look good I think. I'm not saying we need Buicks in bright yellow or orange... but we do need something brighter, crisper, and younger. I'm 27, and a LaCrosse will be my second new Buick... clearly I'm not the typical Buick customer. I like the fact that it is an historic brand, I like the reliability, I like the size, I like driving something different from my peers, I like the price, and I don't mind the styling... I just don't care for the colors. I think they are using the same colors from 10 years ago. Just my two cents.
  3. Kind of a cool story about GM stock here.... My Grandfather and his sisters all went into together and bought some GM stock in the 1930s during a big strike. (I think it was in '37) Over the years most of the dividends were reinvested, the stock split several times, and when possible they bought more. Almost 70 years later it is all still in the family. My Dad is an only child and my grandfathers sisters never had any kids so as the relatives have died off over the years my dad has accumulated quit a bit of GM stock. It was really a bummer when they cut the dividend a while back, and over the last couple years there has certinly been some cause for concern, but we are still hanging on to it nonetheless. It was tough seeing it in the high teens for a while, but it has since gone back up... you just have to have faith that it will one day be back in the 70s and 80s.
  4. I saw something about aftermarket portholes... do they just glue on?
  5. I was kind of wondering how old most people are around here? I am 26 and getting ready to purchase a LaCrosse in the next month or so. I am guessing I am on the younger side for this board since the guy at the dealership looked at me funny and said he as not sold a LaCrosse to anyone under 45.
  6. Hi all. I am new to the site. I found a link to this place when I was on wikipedia looking up some Buick stuff. Since all of you seem pretty knowledgable I was hoping someone could confirm or deny a rumor I keep hearing.... Will the 2007 Bucik LaCrosse have the portholes? I am getting ready to buy a LaCrosse, but if the '07 has the portholes I will wait until those are out on the lots. One dealership said no, another said yes, and another still said only on the V8 Buick LaCrosse Super - which was the first I have heard of that car. Does anyone know for sure? I was thinking of getting and '06 LaCrosse in August because you can get great deals in August / September... but now that I hear about '07s with portholes I would rather wait and get one of those... that would look so much more Buick like.
  7. The Lacrosse looks fantastic with the portholes! It looks much more Buick like and not just like some other round-edge sedan.
