  1. GM has no choice but to pour money into buyoffs and the Jobs Bank, because these are contractual agreements until at least 2007.
  2. Well, it's a Consumer Reports Recommended Buy, so it's hardly a "turd".
  3. You do realize that GM doesn't own the dealerships and has contractual obligations with these people, as well as a myriad of state laws that prevent anything like this from ever happening....
  4. Is your Mom drawing a GM pension and health care benefits? Just wondering if someone in that position considers that when purchasing a non-GM product.
  5. Yeah, none of their products are competitive, that's why they sell more vehicles than any other manufacturer in this country - nearly twice as many as Toyota, by the way. In fact, Chevrolet alone outsells Toyota.
  6. I'd like to see the income and benefits of those small business employees versus bigger companies.
  7. With a comment like that, I suspect you donate most of your income to charity already, right? After all, why should you have it better than other hardworking people?
  8. What YOU fail to realize is that any company that is forced to pay non-competitive wages (ie union wages) is doomed to bankruptcy in a global economy. I can guarantee you that when the unions finish driving all the manufacturing companies with unionized labor out of business, the companies that take their place will NOT be unionized. Just look at the Japanese transplants in this country.
  9. Keep in mind that the only thing even remotely in jeopardy is global sales leadership. In the USA, GM brands (in total) still outsell Toyota brands (in total) by nearly a 2 to 1 margin. In fact, through November, Chevrolet is the top selling brand in the US, and sold more than 50% more than the Toyota brand. Profits are another story....
