About Dion, I am truly ashamed to be a liberal.... In the next election I am going to vote Conservative.

^ There is no Mercury in Canada anyhow.
I will miss Chrysler but I don't even care if Hummer and Saturn die a quick death.
-
I think Saturn is a joke right now, it has no history and the only thing it had going for it (polymer panels) is gone. Give the Astra to Pontiac, re-do the G6, keep the Solstice and keep the G8. Just like that we can save Pontiac. I can't see how pontiac costs any money being coupled with buick and GMC. In all reality though, axing a brand will just cost sales.

^outch!

^ Holy, GM really needs to get some smaller cars now!
-
huh?
I work for an oil company, pizza parties are a normal thing we do to keep up moral. The purse strings are very loose right now because we are making money hand over fist. If oil drops it will all change.
-
Congrats man! I've always liked those cars, the 3.1 should last forever and the body/undercarriage looks in very good shape.
-
$50 a barrel would change how we do business. No more pizza parties.

The Gauge cluster looks similar to the Camaro, centre stack like CTS ish

^ I like the belt, but I never wear belts
Are you hugging wood in the first picture?

Does coasting down hills in N save that much gas? Or even after time would you notice it. I am starting to do it. I often shut my car off in a drive through never at a stop light. (Isn't there a law about that if you need to move you car for say a firetruck?)
I tried running my truck in neutral while coasting downhill, it actually burns more fuel according to the DIC. While coasting in gear the AFM runs in 4 cylinder while in neutral the engine runs in 8.
Remember the best way to conserve fuel is to drive like you are 90: stay at the speed limit and accelerate lightly.
-
The truth is that oil is non-renewable and we may be running on empty soon enough. The good news is US oil shale will have to be exploited soon enough, bringing the US more control over itself.
-
^ I cannot believe the luck on this forum. I am so sorry about the truck, at least everyone is ok! I think you may have to look at trading the truck, she just doesn't have good luck at all. Lets hope the curse ends!

It is a photo taken in Gros Morne Nat. Park, Newfoundland. My work desktop:

Wow, just wow!
How is that going to reduce greenhouse gases?

This is a smart move. And it'll give the new LaCrosse, which will be better than the current vehicle and roomy-enough, some breathing space in Buick showrooms too.
The "full-size" sedan market is a loser from a business standpoint too. Not just because of CAFE either. It's been shrinking for years, and going to continue to contract as buyers look to smaller cars.
GM needs to plot all its vehicles on a graph. 2 axes: sales potential on one and profit margin on the other. Full-sized sedans end up in the worst quadrant: low profit because of high incentives and low sales potential because of shrinking market. GM ran its factories in the 1st quarter of 2008 at 76% of capacity. Factor in another 10% too high of reliance on fleet sales and you've got about 7 or 8 assembly plants they need to close to get close to 100% plant capacity (the holy grail of profitability). SUV plants (the demand is not coming back ever)
I totally Agree, although most of us lust for the yesteryears of huge rwd sedans, those days are gone. I think the EPII cars from GM will be large enough to satisify most peoples needs. Sadly they will not satisify most C&G forumers wants!

Love the video. quite hilarious.I like it a lot.
Love those glasses lol

I agree. What I don't like reading are the POS/A-holes comments in the thread title.
I Agree, it should be edited.

GM may not have a lot of money but they certainly want to rape them for every penny. Its time for the UAW to wake up, take what is fairly offered or they may not have a job.

Sold my corolla today, I am going to be driving my 4x4 Vortec max everywhere. Hell with gas prices, in a few years these prices will seem cheap. I just hope that high prices discourage people in developing countries from buying too many cars.
Happy July 1st!
