  1. Well, we knew they'd keep a hybrid fullsize truck, even if it's just for window dressing. Because nobody actually buys the thing.

I'm expecting large gains in the effectiveness of this system vs the last gen

with lighter weight and better battery integration materials etc

I don't expect it to make it worth the cost, but maybe high twenties mpg city

  2. Though they did drop the hybrid from the new coming truck line. It makes me think they have something new coming.

Mark Reuss was tweeting GMI after that storty came out

mreuss: @GMdudeinNA @GMInsideNews @nsap "new lows in headlines from some rumor stated as fact. Unbelievable. Lazy, silly, and sad. Bottom barrel."

mreuss:‏ @GMdudeinNA @GMInsideNews: "GM Cancels Next Generation Hybrid Trucks, SUVs http://bit.ly/Q7oRgy #GMChat” @nsap new heights of irresponsible reporting."

  3. I'm jealous of you guys who have local Cadillac Dealers, or local anything dealers really, where i live there is only GM, a Ford dealer, and a Chrysler one, with a Kia/Arctic cat dealer just out of town

  4. Saw "Dark Knight Rises" and loved it too. Saw "TED" and thought it was a hilarious movie (I'm a Seth McFarlane fan anyway). Looking forward to seeing "Total Recall" this weekend.

Ya i saw the trailer for Total Recall, it looks pretty good

  5. Is there a movie thread here, i don't think so, bored, so i thought id make one

Went to The Dark Night Rises a few days ago, the movie was great in my opinion, anyone else see it?

Anyone see any other good movies lately?

other than that, general movie thread.

  6. WOW, Talk about Bloat!

I thought the Volt did better than 38 miles on pure electric. Was it not rated at 80?

I would have expected the ELR to drop to about 60 due to weight and the traditional luxury bloat, but this is crazy. 38 miles only?????

So in rereading the C&D story, I can understand the limitations, but I still have to wonder about the battery pack challenges when you have other companies stating 200+ miles on electric. Why can GM only get so little out of the battery pack?

Volt was 35, goes up to 38 for 2013
