2024 Ford Explorer EV

The Ford Explorer EV is a European-market-only all-electric crossover, completely separate from the US-market gas-powered Explorer. Built on the Volkswagen MEB platform at Ford's Cologne assembly plant in Germany, it is offered with a single-motor rear-wheel-drive or dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain. The Explorer EV never went on sale in North America and shares nothing with the traditional Explorer beyond the nameplate.

This is a great read and another point as to why I so heavily embrace EVs. The future is bright for the rapid advances that EVs are bringing to a superior automotive experience IMHO. I’ve Seen More Improvement In Two Years Of Reviewing EVs Than I Did In A Decade Testing Gas Cars Perfect statement from the comments section: EVs improved more than ICE in the past decade. This will also be true next decade, and for a few after that. ICE will eke out marginal improvements at best, it’s a mature technology. EVs will win, and this is a big reason why. WalMart knows it, which is why they’re widely deploying new DC chargers.

Thanks! While I don’t plan on giving up good ol gas power- my drive to both work and the local area allows an EV to work quite well to save a buck or two, and I like the instant torque. Also helps I have quite a few co workers with EVs as well- including an EV9. Might help that I work with different industries, including automotive.

Hi everyone- figured I’d pop in and see how everyone is doing. Since my kid is heading off to college in the fall, I finally might have some spare time again, lol. Plus facebook is getting pretty scary at this point- even family is not a reason to stay on too much longer…. Still have my ear to automotive being here in the motor city- some interesting stuff going on around here. Just about done with car payments around here, and finding that the Equinox EV is growing on me…might help they are installing an EV charger at work…..
