Mercedes-Benz A-Class

Album created by William Maley · Updated

The third-generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W176) marked a dramatic shift in direction for the model, abandoning the tall-boy architecture of its predecessors in favor of a low, wide, coupe-inspired five-door hatchback silhouette aimed squarely at the European premium compact market. Power comes from a range of turbocharged four-cylinder engines including a 1.6L and 2.0L petrol, paired with a six-speed manual or seven-speed 7G-DCT dual-clutch transmission and a choice of front-wheel drive or 4MATIC all-wheel drive. At the top of the lineup sits the A 45 AMG, powered by a 355-horsepower 2.0L turbocharged inline-four mated to 4MATIC AWD, making it the most powerful production car in this class at its launch.
