The 2013 Lincoln MKZ represented a complete ground-up redesign built on Ford's CD4 platform, offering a choice of a turbocharged 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder, a naturally aspirated 3.7L V6, or a 2.0L Hybrid powertrain paired with FWD or available AWD. A standard push-button gear selector replaced the conventional shifter, while the available panoramic retractable glass roof spanning nearly the full length of the cabin became one of the MKZ's most talked-about features. The bold split-wing grille, full-width LED taillamp bar, and a technology-forward interior with MyLincoln Touch infotainment signaled Lincoln's intent to compete more aggressively in the premium sedan segment.
