The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder SL marked the fourth-generation model's complete reinvention from a body-on-frame truck into a car-based crossover, wrapped in Cayenne Red Metallic paint and equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 and all-wheel drive. Inside, three rows of beige leather seating accommodate up to seven, with Nissan's EZ Flex second-row system making third-row access easier than most rivals. The fact that the EV batteries are now outlasting ICE engines and are expected to even outlast the EV auto and you can then use it for a battery pack on the house if you add Solar. Plenty of options, but the range and low cost on the EV9 in comparison to an equal ICE is very compelling imho.

You both have points kinda. The Kia is going to depreciate, but with the mileage you're doing, everything is going to depreciate. You're gonna get killed on whatever you buy or you're gonna get killed fueling the Navigator. If you're making payments on the Navigator, you might end up netting out to the same monthly on an EV9 after subtracting fuel costs, but having a substantially newer vehicle. That said, $25k for a near full-size crossover in this economy means it's gonna have 75k miles or more if you find an amazing deal, so at $40k, you're just buying lower mileage regardless of how it's powered. A Kia Telluride with 15k miles is... $42k. A Kia EV9 with 15k miles is... $43k.

Anything worth a damn is over 40k, and I'm just not going to spend 40k on something that will depreciate like an EV9 will. It will be a heck of a buy at 25-30k, but not at 40-45k.

When you have an hour, go test drive one. Put it into sport mode and beat on it a little. You'll be surprised. Yeah it's only like 220hp or whatever, but the torque is instant.

The Bolt really checks every single box for cheap commuter. I’m genuinely trying to get over the atrocious shape/looks because it does everything else I’m looking for with being cheap. Before oil shot up, you could find a Bolt for 10k or even less. Of course, that wasn’t all of them, but it wasn’t uncommon to find one listed for 10k. Now that I think of it though, I think that was before the federal rebate went away and I know some dealerships were throwing the 4k used credit onto their pricing, so maybe it was all just that. Either way, 10k would be perfect.

Yeah, I'm still torn on if I want to buy a small EV as a commuter and keep the Navigator or go with something larger like a Prologue, Blazer EV, Model Y and just replace the Navigator. If it wasn't replacing the Navigator, it wouldn't need to be AWD and I'd really only look for things that get 120+ miles of range(which is why the Focus and eGolf caught my eye). FWIW, $15,000 seems to be about the last point of savings. Going beyond that and it really isn't much savings. A 25k commuter isn't going to save anything. It's just pushing the money from the oil companies to a dealership and bank.
