2016 Chevrolet Volt
The 2016 Chevrolet Volt made its world debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January 2015, arriving as a complete redesign of the original plug-in hybrid. The second-generation Volt delivered 53 miles of all-electric range — up from 38 in the first generation — thanks to a new 18.4 kWh lithium-ion battery and an all-new Voltec propulsion system with dual electric motors and a 1.5-liter range-extending engine.
This gallery includes press images from the Detroit reveal event alongside technical cutaway and exploded-view illustrations showcasing the new Voltec drive unit, battery pack, and engine that powered the redesigned Volt.
