The 2016 Scion iM's engine bay reveals the 1.8-liter four-cylinder with Toyota's Valvematic variable valve timing system, identified by the silver Valvematic cover atop the engine. The compact engine produces 137 horsepower and pairs with either a six-speed manual or a CVT, making the iM one of the few affordable hatchbacks to still offer a proper stick shift.
