  1. Mercedes EV styling is horrendous. SUV or sedan, no difference in the amount of horrendousness. Actually, nothing they sell now, ICEV or EV, could be considered as pleasant. In recent years, they have managed to uglify even their most compelling designs of just a mere decade ago. The only Mercedes vehicles I personally like are the Sprinter vans and all their iterations. Electric versions intrigue me. With that said, not very inspiring when the only thing I see myself drive or be driven in is a van. It wouldnt have been a big deal if we were talking about GMC with its black and dark grey coloured 1983 Vandura from a certain TV show. But its Mercedes we are talking about. You know, the company that was inspired to do a Formula One 1.6 liter V6 hybrid supercar for the streets. But they phoqued up the looks of that as well... But that is just my lowly opinion. Many folk love the modern look of a Mercedes-Benz.

  3. As you say, FUD is what is driving Solid-state batteries that are anywhere from 4 times to 10 times denser than today's Lithium-ion batteries plus safer. I suspect EVs starting in 2026 will tend to go towards solid-state as their production comes online. Example is the latest solid-state battery that charges in as little as 3 minutes is 4 times as dense and so if you had the battery pack the same size as current GMC Hummer, that is their current 210 kWH Lithium-ion battery pack would be a 840 kWH battery pack in solid state or from 329 MPGe to 1,316 MPGe. I doubt any sane person would have range anxiety, but they would probably complain about charging time. Course so many people are ignorant to the fact that a Diesel semi-truck can easily take up to 1hr to fuel depending on if it is a regular truck,15 minutes, extra-large tanks, up to 30 minutes or long-haul tanks up to 1hr for about 400 gallons of diesel.

  4. @oldshurst442 Interesting that Musk posted a picture taken by Drone of their huge MegaPack Tesla Power Storage system that will allow them to not loose any power generated by Solar or Wind and in the background is the soon to be decommissioned Coal Power Plant. On the day that the next batch of MegaPacks arrived was also the day the last shipment of coal came to Maui and the plant is to be offline by the end of the year. Tesla is supposed to have this MegaPack storage online by the end of September. Then you have the fear mongering from this terrible news site. https://www.newsmax.com/finance/laurenfix/electric-vehicle-lithium-battery-recycling-china/2022/09/26/id/1089021/ That was one thing I found interesting on my vacation to Maui was the amount of wind generators offline due to no need for the power or way to store it. Tesla MegaPack will help with storing the energy for use at night.

  5. Yes, soothing, but would you really want to fly on a Russian maintained or lack there of plane? Always reminds me of about 8 years ago, a China Airways Jet flew into Germany and the Germans would not let the plane fly due to the poor condition of the engines where Chinese folks uses seatbelt straps to hold the fins together. We have seen plenty of 3rd world planes that were fine when new in the US or Europe then sold after decades of use to a poor country who then flies them literally into the ground with minimal maintenance and then a crash costing human life. An amazing feat of human engineering that can also be deadly.

  6. All anti-EV FUD from people that have vested interest in NOT promoting EVs for one reason or other. That is why I got aggressive with @ccap41 the other day because it is frustrating when I know what is being transmitted is bullshyte, fear mongering and lies. And there is NO excuse to spew that kind of bullshyte when open news is available to us, North Americans, no matter where we live in North America to access the reality of it all. We could discuss and voice our concerns, especially when a solution is available in one area but not in another. Im not soooo close minded that I cannot accept somebody else's reality. Why? I have access to news. To realities other than my own that I could access myself. And if you read my posts to him, you would realize that I lent myself to be in HIS shoes where HE lives... But the same was NOT presented by him to me. And @Drew Dowdell as it where... With these batteries that will be spent or outlive the cars they reside in or whatever... Many GLOBAL solutions are being talked about on what to do with them. MANY solutions have been presented and probably be put into action. And how do I know this? Well, I wouldnt be able to talk to you guys without this thing called the internet. The WORLD WIDE WEB thingy. The www.----------.com or .ca or .org or any other domain. We as North Americans have access to that kind of freedom... And to you of course, Dave. You keep us informed with EV news almost on a daily basis. THANK-YOU!!! 1. Recycling centers to recycle the batteries 2. back up power to power government buildings, hospitals, factories and even private houses as a collection of batteries... And many more ways of batteries that do not pass muster on the EVs that we buy... And all that I said could easily be googled and verified. And it wont be fakenews as these solutions are GLOBAL. From Japan and Chine to Korea and Thailand to Canada, Brasil Mexico and the US. To Germany and France and England and Australia and any other country I didnt mention...
