It cost GM to much to build in Canada now, I'd expect more Canadian jobs to move south, to the USA or Mexico.
now ya. but how about when the USD goes back up? not too mention the lost quality advanatges Oshawa had over other plants and the savings in healthcare dollars canada provides

I want to spit on every bastard child that is the Wave and to a lesser extent the G5 I see up here
-
not surprising that GM is cutting back on trucks but isn't Oshawa one of their best plants?
if the Oshawa truck plant got any money as part of the Beacon project a few years back, I hope the Ontario gov goes after GM to get it back
-
isn't oshawa one, if not the best plant in GM's arsenal?

I'd rather love with a b pillared Camaro then with a Camaro at all
-
nice to see pics but I have a feeling GM won't be too happy about that being posted online

that would probably take away Malibu's "most efficient mid-sized" status.
Rather than a more efficient V6, I'd like to see a more powerful 4-cylinder as an additional option. Chevy should continue to offer the current base 4-cylinder all the way up the model line to the LTZ.
or maybe throw a 5 or 6 speed manual at it. not only would that help fuel economy numbers, but it would increase the marketability of the car

alphanumerics are fine IMO, as long as its kept consistent, which it hasn't been.
as for the name El camino, I agree that if it isnt' a Chevy, it ain't a Camino. Leave it at G8 ST

Just about every convertible variant has added reinforcement in the side and doors when compared to the non-convertible variants. Again, I don't see how Sigma is somehow incapable of having a convertible, when much less rigid platforms of the past have spawned convertibles.
exactly. and from what I believe he means is it stands now, the Sigma platform does not have this reinforcements so it can't do a convertible. If sigma was modified it could, but it might not make a good business case

Rumors of a German (or at least German-branded) pickup truck have been bouncing around longer than a Lamborghini sport-ute or Ferrari sedan, and may seem just as out of place.
do they mean the already made LM002 and the Ferrari 456 GT Sedan? :AH-HA_wink:
-
in its current form, if it wasn't designed with the required reinforcement to make up for the reduce rigidity that comes with the loss of a fixed roof, then it can't do a vert.
and given the engineering and tooling mods required to add it and the decreased fuel efficiency from the increased weight, it might not make business sense

one possibl3 reason they're doing well...

union's fudging numbers? NEVAH!

Well, I'm in the same boat as you (needing 4-doors for family hauling), but I'm praying that GMC comes through and offers a production version of the Denali XT concept. However, if I could manage with a 2-seater I'd be all over my own G8 ST in a heartbeat!!!
ya, a production Denali XT would be on my list

I really hope they bring the Crewman (4 door version) too because as much as I love this vehicle, I just couldn't justify buying something without a back seat
-
Looks like a Yaris from the back
that was teh first thing I saw too
the front looks like a cross between a GTR and Infiniti, but not a good cross. I really am not of a fan of the side view of the headlights either

I'm actually rooting for Toyota on this one...
+1

Anyone notice it's right hand drive?
no.
the interior shot makes it look like right hand drive, but the driving pictures show the driver on the left.
-
be cool if it were as functional offroad as the old Lambo SUV but these days I doubt it
-
glad the Torrent will be gone. That vehicle works better in the GMC lineup then it does in the Pontiac lineup IMO
-
the more I hear about fuel costs and fuel standards, the more interested I am in Alpha then I am in Zeta

lead or GHB based paint?
