  1. There is always BMW. :P

Exactly. My brands of choice will now be BMW and Porsche. I know they will stay true to what I value in a car.

Hogwash, they have both built a number of cheap garbage auto's and still charge outlandish prices for lousy small auto's that only fit a portion of Americans.

A real American will stay with their American companies through thick and thin. If you are not happy with the direction of GM then go with Ford or Chrysler, but not a German nut can car company.

  2. I have always bough Pontiac besides my Corvette. If GM goes ahead with killing Pontiac, then I have no more excuses and I will buy a BMW. With me it will be Oldsmobile all over again...they will lose a lifetime customer for good. At this point it is f*ck GM executives who ran the company into the ground, f*ck the GM employees who undermine GM for their own agenda (you know who you are), f*ck the John Q public for not giving Detroit a chance, and finally f*ck the car Czars and Obama for interfering with GM. Buy the time I buy my next car, their might not be an American auto industry and I will through my lot in with the ex Nazi BMW. Harsh words, but I am PISSED off!

    :firebird::cussing::cussing:

Be careful with that. Being passionate about a brand is frowned upon here. Other people here will think your behind the times or irrational, or your just not loyal.

Yup, those brands are dead, as an American, support your fellow citizen and buy from an American Company.

My heritage is German but I will never buy German, only American. Plus why would you want to buy a car from a company that charges $1500 for a basic service / tune up compared to about $500 for the same service from an American company.

As far as I am concerned, my CTS, SRX and Escalade ESV Platinum beats anything that BMW or Mercedes has to offer.

  3. G8 and Solstice are simply being killed, they won't be moved to another brand.

    per Fritz the Dim

Yea GM is to interested in just axing products, not trying to improve them and let them live.

:( Sad but true that they will probably axe these product when a rebadge on the G8 could very easily bring excitement to the Buick label and give people that step up from a FWD Monte Carlo to a RWD Grand National auto.

Too bad the auto Zars are not listening more to the public as I think the public is all for saving American companies and there are plenty of good Ideas out there for them to use.

  4. Over all Corolla is an Eco Box, whether you like Asian built, European Built or American Built Auto's, these type of cars are usually frugal, cheap and nothing impressive.

On a personal Note, even though the auto is not built in america, I would still SUPPORT GM as the profits stay with an American Company here and will tend to support American jobs rather than buy from toyota and have the profits go back to Japan as an example.

Over All, I would suggest and recomment a cobalt ove the Corolla any day. :P

  5. To each his own.

    I hate over-cooked food.

And yeah, I like my eggs over easy. :AH-HA_wink:

    ...and my bacon chewy.

I hate chewy bacon. But I also hate overcooked bacon. I like it right in the middle where it's crispy yet juicy.

My only problem with eggs over easy is that they are messy. :P

My Friends Resturant has Breakfast all day long, of course they are only open from 6am to 3pm as they only do breakfast and Lunch.

Now with that said they have the best bacon in the world. They use premium extra thick Pepper bacon. It is always well cooked and no grease as they dry it off so you get a nice thick piece of bacon and you can even get them a bit crunch if you like. Never burnt.

Perasonally I love their farmers plate. Cube Potatoes with 3 eggs, onions, chives, 6 slices of bacon all diced up, seasonnings and the who thing is put on a hot plate and covered in your choice of cheese. Come all melty and yummy. Big meal but oh so worth it.

In regards to Eggs over medium, that is what the hash browns are for and any yoke left over you use your Biscuit to mop it up and leave a clean plate. :P

  6. Ground beef should never be served less than well-done because it is ground, and all the bacteria that would normally be seared off from the outside of a steak are mixed into the center.

As my friend who is a chef said, as long as the internal heat hits 160 you are Bacteria free. This is why Red Robin Gourmet Burger Joint asks you if you want it Rare, Med Rare, Med, & well done. Your Choice.

Personally I love my Royal Red Robin Burger cooked Medium Rare. Awesome burger and I bet this burger will be the same way if it is Medium Rare. :P

  7. Personally GM can return the Patents and keep the right to continue to use the technology in their cars for free. This is one of those issues of how they manuver the rights of use.

Over all I see nothing bad by letting them unload Opel to become a individual company and some new owner to deal with the Union Crap of Europe.

Then GM can focuse the higher quality platforms from Holden into their global franchise of high quality Auto's.

  8. So glad to NOT be living in Socialist Europe. At least the US while some here seem to think Obama will create another Socialist country will still have to live the the laws. So a complete socialist system does not work and as even Europe is starting to figure out. Pure socialism does not work. Our pure capitalism does not work either and I suspect we will have a Hybrid of Capitalism and Socialist systems in the future.

Going to be an interesting next 4 years.

  9. The girl wants the 556 hp CTS-V as her car after she finishes her residency. She does not disprove the idea of getting the LS3 Camaro NOW other than the fact that I may go back to school.

I am in luck to have such a person from XX chromosome sequence in my life.

Too Funny, Guess I am just as lucky as my wife loves Auto's and enjoys having fun toys to drive also.

She drives the Escalade ESV Platinum I got her.

    I drive the Hummer H2

Course with my lot of vehicles I tend to change around as I have a CTS, SRX and Custom Suburban I enjoy driving also. :) Good luck on school if you go back and on your future. :)

  10. No I called the number J had once given me. J and I were lab buddies as both our last names start with H we shared all the same labs classes. More friends with J than M.

I do not think he can be classified as a bi because like I said their parents knew about their relationship even while they were in India. I personally speculate the marriage ordeal might have been an act of smacking on M's face or may be he wanted to start from scratch.

J bought the Bimmer in South Florida when he started the job for a software co when he and M had moved in together in a condo. Since India drives on the wrong side, LHD Bimmer would be illegal there as per the law.

Cool thanks for the update. We'll like your woman told you, buy it, you did and the rest is history! To bad they did not like Cadillac, you could have possibly had a CTS V :D
