  1. One of the most popular electric vehicles is back and with a starting price of $28,995 including the $1,395 DFC charge will be one of the most affordable EVs on the American Market. Chevrolet had promised to have the new Bolt under $30,000 and will start with shipping a mid-level LT model Bolt starting at $29,990 with an entry level Bolt later in the 2027 model year at $28,995. The Bolt will join the Chevrolet family of EVs that includes Equinox, Blazer and Silverado EVs. The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt is equal in size to the 2024 Bolt EUV, there will not be a smaller version below this. The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt will have the following: GM-estimated 255 miles of range Peak charging speed of 150 kW+, more than 2.5x faster than the previous Bolt EV. Charges 10% to 80% in 26 minutes with public DC fast charging First Chevrolet with native NACS charging port New, sporty RS trim Larger 11.3-inch-diagonal infotainment screen for navigation, playlists, and entertainment apps like Angry Birds, HBO Max, and more through Google built-in, plus a larger 11-inch-diagonal driver information screen Available Super Cruise driver assistance technology with more hands-free miles than ever before More than 20 standard safety and driver assistance features6 including Intersection Collision Mitigation, Rear Automatic Braking and Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Braking Refined new interior with open console and all-new passenger dash storage Multiple USB-C ports and available wireless phone charging Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) bi-directional capability The 2027 Bolt will use the X76 electric drive train that is already well used in other GM EV models such as the Equinox. This allows the Bolt to offer the most advanced EV powertrain to date. The Bolt benefits from a blended regenerative braking system for even more efficiency. Whether or not the driver engages One-Pedal Driving mode, software in the Bolt prioritizes technology that returns braking energy back to the battery for improved range. The braking system has been optimized for consistent pedal feel during both regen and friction braking, a key improvement over the previous Bolt. The Bolt has one of the most modern driver and center infotainment systems along with Super Cruise using the Google apps store and google maps. In keeping with what customers have asked for, when parked or charging, the 2027 Bolt offers premium in-vehicle entertainment apps like Angry Birds, Chrome, GameSnacks, HBO Max, Tubi, Prime Video, and more, so you can stream, game, or browse the internet from your dashboard. And the list of apps available for download via Google Play keeps growing. The Bolt has plenty to love as for the 2027 model year, they have updated the fast charging to 150 kW a huge upgrade over the original 50 kW and with most drivers charging from home, it has an 11.5 kW onboard charging controller allowing you to charge with ease overnight. The system also comes V2H or Vehicle to Home bidirectional allowing for the Bolt to power your home when the electrical panel is properly equipped. GM also listened to customers of the earlier generation Bolt about the need for physical buttons and less touch screen as well as wireless charging. 3. Here at seatac they are saying arrive 3-4hrs before your flight due to TSA delays.
  4. @Robert Hall @A Horse With No Name better plan if you want to leave the country on moving all assets including retirement money out of the country as Idiot47 says people who move out will not only give up their SS but he says the government will confiscate all assets. Seems to think he can actually steal from the population. We really need to use the 25th to remove him from office and prosecute the criminal. In auto news, Ferrari has just released all the Details on their first EV. 0-100km 2.5s 310km top speed or 190mph 1,000hp https://www.ferrari.com/en-EN/corporate/articles/ferrari-elettrica
  5. What is the 51st state doing making their own trade agreements?
  6. I would counter that I would feel less safe in a state with open carry and no regulation like Florida and Texas. Not everyone has the skill or can properly handle the weapons they carry. The year I lived in Texas, I came across way too many situations where the gun owner actually ended up making things worse as common sense is not so common. Without clear training, regulations on how and what you can carry, someone with a machine gun might just get road rage and go off firing causing many problems. @A Horse With No Name Great trip pictures, love the trip, looks like it was fun. It dawned on me that I am surprised the MAGA have not attacked the arts yet as the soft nudity is immense and that would offend their bible thumping attitude one would think.
  7. Will be interesting to see how mercedes uses their 800V EV system on the current auto's, hopefully they can get their mojo back on style and YES, I agree that BMW peaked in the 90's with style and has clearly lost it with the Big Nostril Grills. How anyone thinks this looks good is beyond me.
  8. Like showing proof of insurance, either proof of purchase of a gun safe (Yes, I know this could be forged), proof of home insurance showing Guns and gun safe on the insurance (Yes, I know this could be forged). There is no bullet proof way of ensuring gun locks and gun safes, but we have to do our best. I also think there is no need for Military style guns in public possession, but that is my feeling, and I know gun companies would fight this as they feel they have a right to sell everything to everyone and be damn any regulations about responsibility. Gotta start somewhere for better gun safety.
  9. Like have been instituted in other countries, I feel that the mental health review or check should be done before your allowed to buy a gun. So many other places around the world require this and that is it, once and done, yes I understand it does not cover what could happen down the road as one ages, but at least at the time before your approved to buy a gun, you have a mental health check to see where you are mentally. Gun Locks / Gun Safes should always be a requirement when being approved to buy a gun and if you are buying multiple guns, then you should have no problem providing proof of Gun Lock or Gun Safe ownership for the new gun you're buying. @oldshurst442 Wish we could ban AR15 ownership much like Europe has with the Cybertruck.
  10. Excellent question and one I think is answered by our own history during the world wars. It seems that our own Military had a clear rule of no guns for populations other than those that go through special training for hunting. Japan is a perfect example of this; the violence is minimal and mostly done with things that are not gun based. The days of wild west frontier are over and as such we really do not have a need for guns in the way it was viewed back at the start of our country 249 years ago. Second Amendment needs to be amended to include REQUIRED Training, Required Gun Safes for those that choose to buy a gun. Required review to understand the need to own a gun which includes mental check. I have no problem with guns, gun ownership, I have a problem with the current NRA and all the crazy gun nuts that think there should be no rules or requirements for gun ownership. As such, the bulk of gun violence happens in Red states. So maybe there needs to be better education and stricter requirements about gun ownership. @oldshurst442 Brings up a good point on other countries and since I mentioned Japan where I went to college, here are their requirements, heavily dictated by McArthur after the surrender to the U.S. from WWII. Gun ownership in Japan is highly restricted, governed by strict laws that prioritize public safety and minimize gun violence. Legal Framework The Firearm and Sword Possession Control Law, enacted in 1958, regulates all aspects of gun ownership in Japan. This law has undergone numerous revisions to tighten restrictions and ensure public safety. Key points include: Types of Firearms Allowed: Only shotguns and air rifles are permitted for civilian ownership. Handguns are completely prohibited, with no exceptions for self-defense or hunting. Licensing Process: Obtaining a firearm license in Japan is a rigorous process that includes: Background Checks: Comprehensive checks are conducted to assess the applicant's history and character. Mental Health Evaluations: Applicants must undergo psychological assessments to ensure they are fit to own a firearm. Mandatory Training: Individuals must complete training courses on firearm safety and handling. Storage and Transport Regulations: Firearms must be stored securely, typically in a locked safe, with ammunition stored separately. Transporting firearms requires them to be unloaded and stored in a locked case. Greek Requirements: Gun ownership in Greece is regulated by strict laws, requiring licenses for various purposes such as hunting, sport shooting, and self-defense. Legal Framework Gun ownership in Greece is governed by Law 4171/2013, which outlines the requirements for obtaining a gun license and the types of firearms that can be owned. Citizens are allowed to own firearms for specific purposes, including hunting, sport shooting, and self-defense, but must adhere to strict licensing requirements. Licensing Requirements To obtain a gun license in Greece, applicants must meet several criteria: Age: At least 18 years old for hunting weapons and 21 years old for other firearms. Background Check: No criminal record or history of mental illness. Medical Examination: Pass a medical and psychological evaluation. Training: Complete a firearms training course. Legitimate Reason: Provide proof of a valid reason for owning a firearm, such as hunting or self-defense. Types of Firearms Allowed: The law permits ownership of various firearms, including hunting rifles and handguns, but prohibits fully automatic weapons and certain other types of firearms. There are limits on the number of firearms an individual can own, and firearms must be stored securely. Public Opinion and Recent Developments Public opinion in Greece generally favors strict gun control measures, with many citizens supporting regulations to prevent gun-related violence. Recent incidents involving firearms have prompted discussions about potential changes to the licensing framework, including stricter requirements and enhanced background checks. Statistics on Gun Ownership Estimates suggest that there are approximately 1.2 million legal firearms in Greece, alongside an estimated 800,000 illegal firearms. This indicates that about 20% of the population may own firearms, which is relatively low compared to other countries. In summary, while gun ownership is permitted in Greece, it is subject to stringent regulations and licensing requirements aimed at ensuring public safety. The ongoing discussions about gun laws reflect a cautious approach to firearm regulation in the country.
