  1. I agree with this economist, I fear 2025 is going to be a very rough year for many folks. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/why-one-veteran-economist-is-doubling-down-on-his-2025-recession-call-after-trump-s-victory/ar-AA1uiC1L?ocid=BingHp01&cvid=90656ce617c545bbe47dbb04a8b198c2&ei=99 Then we have the evidence that China economy is not doing well with 6 months now of contraction in oil use and continued drop in people in China spending money. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/trump-s-pick-for-fracker-in-chief-will-have-a-tough-time-pumping-a-lot-more-oil/ar-AA1uipSx?ocid=BingHp01&cvid=90656ce617c545bbe47dbb04a8b198c2&ei=126
  2. Agree with the RWD LS V8 swap, that has been done in so many different Chevrolet auto's that had small engines. I had a friend who like me had a Series 5 Chevrolet 1976 Luv Truck that Isuzu made for GM for the NA market, and he swapped out the 4 banger with a LS V8, was totally cool, hard as hell to work on due to the tight space but was so cool to drive and see fly around. FYI - If you do not see me post around here over the next week or so, it is because I go in Wednesday morning for right knee surgery, so I might be out just sleeping allot.
  3. Yes, Musk grew up in wealth and Apartheid, he only knows white class spoiled narcissistic life. Yes, Biden did leave them in place and Trump now wants to put another 60% on top of it. OUCH. Yes, every educated economist has clearly stated that the Inflation Biden had to deal with was the FAILED policies from Idiot45. Being in the tech industry, Biden did not remove any of the tech tariffs and as such, now with Idiot47 placing an additional 60% tariff on Chinese goods, Apple products are about to get crazy expensive and I expect big drop in sales next year of all tech products due to tariffs as Idiot47 has clearly stated 60% on Chinese and 20% on Global, so pretty much the U.S. consumer better get ready to suck up having less money as they pay way more for things and both parties are IDIOTS imho.
  4. So true that we are entering the BOZO clown administration.
  5. Reading road trip comparisons like this just re-enforce how fast the EV world is changing in a matter of a few years. The EV Road-Trip Experience Has Actually Gotten Much Better This right here tells me that Toyota needs to have this on by default and not leave it to third parties to sell as stupid crazy prices. We Test a Catalytic Converter Shield, the Toyota Prius Upgrade You Never Want to Use
  6. Seems Bently in 2026 will reveal and put on sale the first uber luxury Urban SUV EV. Bentley News 2024 : Bentley announces Beyond100+ strategic plan to 2035 – creates first ever Luxury Urban SUV Pretty much no other details in the press release other than this sole image.
  7. This is so true and so many great options better than a Tesla if you want an EV. You can buy a used EV that charges faster than a Tesla for $25k OUCH, Yesterday GM laid off another 1,000 employees. The state of the automotive industry remains shaky as GM just announced 1,000 layoffs
  8. Awesome job to get TSMC chip making here in the U.S. by the Biden Administration. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/biden-cements-tsmc-grant-before-trump-takes-over/ar-AA1u8w0o?ocid=BingHp01&cvid=f5845ab2b0e64a55c964f3f2e3d2b0f6&ei=19
  9. Seems Next Week is going to be busy as the LA Auto Show happens and Kia will have 5 reveals next week. Kia Global Media Center : Kia America to Unveil Five New Vehicles at Upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show Seems Hyundai will also dominate the LA Auto Show with reveals including the IONIQ 9 https://www.hyundaiusa.com/us/en
  10. agree, the Genesis GV80 Coupe was a waste of money and I do not see it surviving long. The WHOLE SUV Coupe thing was a joke.
  11. 🤔 So the five boroughs should become their own country?
  12. I do not get your random thought here??????
  13. Just as Europe was to Music in the last few centuries, America topped Europe from the mid 1900's to now, but sadly in the last 4-5 ish years, I would say America has lost talent / folks worthy to listen to and Korea seems to be coming up strong. Yes, it was K-Pop with a few English words, now you have Black Pink, Aliee, Rain and others that are starting to really dominate the world of Music. Lucky is that we still have the diversity of Music that the Asian Rim has not hit upon. PNW of course has contributed a number of types of Music such as Indie, Grunge, Alternative, Folk, Modern, Jazz, Rock, pretty impressive when you look at what has come from here: Music of the Pacific Northwest - Wikipedia Will be interesting to see how Music evolves over the coming years due to changes of society in North America due to repressive idiots.
  14. The Boost I bought for the EV9 has been great when I need to get away from other crazy drivers. But in this case, I just need to step on the peddle and I fly away. I have wondered if boost buttons on small EVs like the GV60 is due to the smaller battery pack?
  15. The actual press release with Rivian. Faster, Leaner, More Efficient: Rivian and Volkswagen Group Announce the Launch of their Joint Venture | Volkswagen Group
  16. For those that might have missed this, VW has upped their investment in Rivian and will now use hardware / software as the base of the SCOUT Truck / SUV with just their own body style it seems. Volkswagen raises investment in Rivian to $5.8 billion | Reuters Why Rivian's $5.8 Billion Deal With Volkswagen Is Exceptionally Bullish
  17. I feel Cadillac needs to have a body package that clearly sets the V edition autos apart from the standard versions. I feel based on these pictures as I stated above that this V edition does not stand out from the rest of the product line. Feel like a bit of V was splashed around and a software upgrade to get higher HP/torque and they said OK, V edition.
  18. Like you, I am very embedded in the PNW with two kids, the grandkids, etc. While I think I will be fine to retire at 70, I am pretty much figure due to the cost of living in the US, going to work till I die. Plus, I like Tech and with my love of winter sports, technology and home movie system with big screen, yes currently at LG 77" C4 OLED TV, but have seen the new 83 and 97 inch OLED TVs that would pretty much make the whole wall a TV. Talk about TOTAL IMMERSION in a Home Theater setup. Yup, I think I will always work unless I move to the Philippians. I have a friend that retired at 60 and moved there, his $8,000 a month goes so far, beautiful house on the beach, easy sway style lifestyle. But then I have Grandkids. Latest edition this year is my Cutiepie Kai, he loves tech too.
  19. That is one thing I love about my 2006 Escalade, Gen 3 Escalades and everyone since have slab hard seats and seem more for performance and short-term driving than road trips. This is why at 200,000 miles I still have my Escalade, but after my experience with the EV9 and comfy road trips in it, the days of the Escalade are limited as Genesis has the GV90 EV coming out plus there is also the EV9 Pickup coming out next year too, so one of them will replace the Escalade.
  20. I regreted selling my 1994 GMC Suburban till I bought the EV9 and now have no regrets as the interior space is everything my GMC Suburban had.
  21. Here in Seattle, Tesla is popular, but since January of this year, I now see a ton of LYRIQ's and Kia/Hyundai all over the place. A number of my coworkers have replaced their Tesla's with LYRIQ's. PNW is far more green than other places, but as has shown with the huge drop in Tesla sales and an increase in Rivian, Cadillac, Kia and Hyundai, the west coast will move on as Tesla stalls. Waymo just announced today that LA is now their third market where one can use Waymo One to take RoboTaxi rides. Tesla might be up due to the Trump win, but I do not see it doing so great next year, nor Trump as Inflation hits hard North America due to his Tariffs and the rest of the world goes into Recession. Cadillac has a spot on quality on ICE and EV and while style is personal preference, I do not see Cadillac stalling as they have already said they would keep ICE going past 2030 as long as customers buy and they will adjust EV manufacturing. Mary has stated that with LFP, they can have a sub $30k Bolt before IRA and even if IRA is destroyed by Idiot47, they will still have a winning entry level EV that I think will be the homerun hit to let them get ahead of other Legacy OEMs. I think this transition will kill off some OEMs in the US, Japan, Europe and China. I could see myself buying a VISTIQ if it was not missing one critical item, Android Auto / Apple Carplay. That is the deal breaker for me.
  22. I wonder what the HP and Torque will be when they release the V edition of this SUV? 🤔

  25. Yes, it does, but we seem to have many Apple users here and they tend to be at the high end of tech prices. I agree if anyone is thinking of upgrading TV, Computer, Tablet, Cell Phones, etc. It is better now than to be hit with crazy tariffs due to an idiot that does not understand how tariffs work and how it will exasperate inflation.
