  1. GOP is in for a major reconning imho. Enough people are educated enough to understand that others should not be dictating how another lives especially when you do not pay for their life style, etc. We are coming up on one of the biggest money exchanges ever as the Boomers die off. Yes those that inherit billions are never really going to change their ways, but the bulk of society is not happy with what is going on and I think outside of meddling by Musk and others for the attempted control by Billionaires, U.S. society will stop this. Sadly it will be too late for leadership of this country as that ship sailed and has been sunk by imbeciles. I fear there is going to be major reconning for various industries. Steel, Aluminum, etc. are not going to come back in the droves that current lemmings think they will. Manufacturing of various kinds will also not come back, just to much to setup up and have covered that are already in places with much cheaper labor. BIGGEST area is the American Auto Industry where I believe it will truly be reduced to a fraction of what it is today and just be more of a foot note in history in a couple decades. Very sad due to poor leadership at many levels that cannot seem to see the future. Was waiting to hear if @Drew Dowdell was going to post a story on this or not, but here is the press release of the Cadillac Velocity Concept that channels the essence of the Cadillac V-Series of autos. Cadillac reveals Elevated Velocity Crossover Concept
  2. Agree red/blue is BS as it tends to be more Rural versus Suburban versus city. The Suburban / Cities of Washington are true Blue, but the Rural of Washington is solid Red. I will pass on Mexico, too hot and go with Canada!, Winter is my favorite season.
  3. I remember when this story came out on the same thing. New Car Models That Sit on Lots the Longest
  4. Trust me that you will love the Fairmont area as well as driving through the Banf national park and if you plan, camp and drive the park all the way up north to the Artic Circle. It is amazing to be in 24hrs of daylight and enjoy the outdoors at 1AM. Sadly Idiot47 is wanting to live in his Dementia filled head in the 50's and 60's and going backwards as he attacks alternative power is a BIG BIG MISTAKE! At this point, let the red states collapse and sadly I can see much loss of life due to how stupid the current administration is. America is going backwards as we give up leadership to China and Korea.
  5. Will be interesting to see how things play out. A compact 2 or 4 door EV pickup is perfect for inner city owners and especially for suburban folks that want to run to Lowe's or Home Depot to get stuff for the house and not have all the maintenance of an ICE mid or full size pickup. Hyundai has their Santa Cruze EV pickup coming towards the end of this year unless they delay it. It seems the EV Pickup based on the Kia EV9 might also get delayed and Genesis with their Escalade competitor GV90 EV SUV in normal and extended length might also get delayed due to stupidity in DC. As such, I think we are headed into some hard times ahead due to inflation caused by Tariffs as well as the massive lay off's due to over hiring in the tech sector. Will be very interesting to see how this plays out, sadly American Auto industry is not going to be what it has been nor is the Japanese auto industry as both are way behind where China and Korea are at with their 800V EV portfolio. Based on sales this year, American, Japanese and European auto companies are seeing massive decline in auto sales in China where Chinese and Korean auto sales are booming. Incompetent leadership stuck in the 50's and 60's led by IQ73 is going to hurt America big time! Course while there is plenty of stories about Donald Trump being tested in his high school years at the military acadamy with an IQ of 73, nothing to validate if the stories are true or not other than to point out his own extreme nature of proving that he thinks he is the smartest person ever as president. End result is no matter how smart or dumb he may actually be, he is destroying America and the auto industry along with hurting the tech sector. A global economy will not be stopped and at this point, there is no going back to Empire building years.
  6. Let's just hope this is not another Edsel Moment!
  7. Many other news stories say this is a true compact EV pickup truck that is to be named Ranchero. Everything we know about the 2027 Ford Ranchero EV Ford’s Next EV Pickup Might Bring Back the Ranchero — And It’s Not Just Nostalgia RANCHERO Trademark of Ford Motor Company. Application Number: 019228685 :: Trademark Elite Trademarks https://fordauthority.com/2025/08/ford-ev-pickup-could-be-called-ranchero/ Seems that the Ranchero Trademark is to cover a Ranchero Pickup, Ranchero SUV and Ranchero Car. Very interesting indeed! Also good info, but these folks say it will be a 400V system only which is bummer.
  8. Nothing like Banf National Park, fresh air, Lake Louise and mineral hotspings. Can spend years exploring the park, lakes, etc. and never see it all. Banff & Lake Louise Tourism | Official Destination Website
  9. @oldshurst442 Intelligent people know how to help others, that is why after my tradeshow, I went to Fairmont Hot Springs and spend my hard earned money on Canada, supporting jobs, buying food and enjoying the mineral hotsprings. Fairmont Hot Springs Resort - Top Hotel Fairmont, BC Why go to a Phouqed up red state when you can go locally and enjoy the great outdoors and soak! Course love that my money gets me 30% or so more there too.
  10. Both Parties have FAILED America. They both agreed to taxation on Social Security in the 70's when it had none and was solvent. They both agreed to allow borrowing against the SS money to give to the 1% of Defense spending. Yet the BIGGEST FAILURE of both parties is the decades they had to clearly put in place a better way forward for immigrants to come to this country, work hard, pay taxes and get to being an honest citizen. End result is that both Republicans and Democrats have failed this country in more ways than one and should have to pay for their wasteful ways. The American auto industry is at a cross roads that will determine if they live to 2030 or not.
  11. While the News can be deceptive on what is going on as they take advantage of the 73 IQ Idiot47, your right not everywhere is totally nuts and I am happy that we still have places that embrace the multi-cultural world we are in. Will be interesting as ICE has stated they will be coming to Washington this weekend and will spend the next few months getting rid of criminals. So far I have only seen a ton of hard workiing people, going to be interesting to see how people respond to this. This was back in June and ICE quickly left the state, so be interesting to see what the news covers this coming rest of August here: Anti-ICE protesters clash with SPD at Federal Building | FOX 13 Seattle
  12. Interesting read, though they talk about 1 million mile batteries, they do not state which ones actually. These EV batteries now last 1 million miles – Morning Overview
  13. Sad that due to Idiot47 and the incompetent administration we currently have, we will loose out on the benefits of entry level EVs from Kia that offer awesome range, performance and interior space. Kia’s Smallest EV Could Become One Of Its Most Thrilling Performance Models The EV2 GT model looks real cool and could be a blast, sadly Canada and Mexico will get it before us due to the incompetent administration we currently have.
  14. Lets be honest in setting the blame where it belongs, IDIOT47 and the 1% crowd that is only more than happy to do illegal pay offs to get billion dollar deals done. Example is the Paramount deal! We are in the Decade of Criminal Pay to Play mode! Paramount Merger Approved After $16 Million Trump Settlement
  15. I can attest to people not wanting to drink what their parents drink as I love my local Washington State wines and yet my son would rather drink Japanese Wiskey or Bullet Bourbon than drink wine with me. The largest growth among Gen Z has been with Soju, Korean liquor. That has exploded even in the U.S. in sales. Amazing how many drink it mixed with Korean Beer for a Soju Bomb. Soju is #1 and White Claw is #2 world wide. Top 10 best-selling spirit brands in the world | Business Chief North America Who knew white claw also sold flavored Vodka, but Soju is so strong. 16. Interesting BBC story on Kentucky Bourbon from Boom to Bust. Spot on. How Kentucky bourbon went from boom to bust
  17. WOW, Saw a mint condition Buick Roadmaster from the 90's station wagon, was not able to snap a picture as I was driving, but the driver was a Translucent female boomer. WOW
  18. @oldshurst442 You are so right about the auto industry. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/whitmer-told-trump-in-private-that-michigan-auto-jobs-depend-on-a-tariff-change-of-course/ar-AA1Kd8Y9?ocid=entnewsntp&pc=U531&cvid=5ad67b9cbe604a80b8b7a0853d63f085&ei=75 Since Trump returned to the White House, Michigan has lost 7,500 manufacturing jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In this story, you have this, but it is only a matter of time: Detroit Axle, a family-run auto parts distributor, has been one of the more vocal companies in Michigan about the impact of the tariffs. The company initially announced it might have to shut down a warehouse and lay off more than 100 workers, but later said it would be able to keep the facility open, at least for now. The fact is Idiot47 seems to think he can issue a statement and the next day all those jobs will appear and all work just fine. Fact is even with saying manufacturing must be done here, it will take years to build the factories, line up supplies and start building the products. Nothing can just happen overnight, but Idiot47 does not understand that.
  19. Guess in this case my news feed was right as I have not read the story yet, but saw about the proclamation to remove all U.S. booze and return it. Taking away a market from the U.S. companies, one would hope would get these idiot CEOs to wake up and stop supporting Idiot47.
  20. WOW, Did I get suckered into that one as it came up on my news feed. My multi-tasking during a boring meeting was a failure on my behalf. Yup, 2016, very old news. Thank you Drew for catching that. My bad!
  21. I find this exciting as Ford needs something that works and is more reliable than their ICE product line with so many recalls. I wish they had expanded on the architecture. No info on if it is 400V or 800V or can handle both. Lots of details still to come I guess. If they keep is slow go in charging, I do not see it doing as well. Tesla is still ove 400V tech and one would have thought they would have upgraded the Y when they did their refresh for faster charging. Kia is fast to charge to 80% than Tesla. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
  22. This hit the news here, 154 stores closing, 10,000 being laid off and the poor are wondering where they will buy their groceries as Walmart is not wanting to wait till things get better, they have decided that since the Poor has cut back spending fast due to prices, these stores are not profitable for them any more. Walmart to close 269 stores, 154 in U.S.; 10,000 employees impacted | FOX 13 Seattle This is only going to get worse. Sorry to hear that, so young. Wishing you all the best as you celebrate his life.
  23. AGREE!!! Dating myself, but back in the late 70's/early 80's I worked at the cinema and was the snack bar shift lead. One of the basic tests to get a position and make more money was those that worked the snack bar had to be able to do basic math in their head. I would daily have to test them by placing random order of products and they had to add it up in their head and then based on the cash received give back proper change but a requirement here in Washington state was to count it back so as a simple example. You order up $13.50 in food, give them a $20 dollar bill and they would have to count it back as food, $13.50, two quarters make it $14, a one makes it $15 and a five makes it $20 so they know they got the correct change. Today, go to any store and most struggle to look at the screen and figure out the proper change to give back and then they just hand you a pile of coin and paper without counting it back to ensure it is proper. Basic math in America is terrible.
  24. Agree with 15% on items from Ireland, it is crazy the price gouging that is going on. Retail grocery stores are even worse I see for items like Kerrygold butter.
