I'm a little down given what's going on with Pope Francis's health.  I know that there isn't a lot of religiosity on C&G, that I know of, but it is the religion I was raised in and the one I identify with, even though we "casual Catholics," especially with roots in warm weather places, have an irreverent and cheeky approach to most things in life.  Blame it on the palm trees.

I didn't realize he was 88.  He turned 88 in December.  I believe he's been Pope between 10 and 15 years.  He was a much needed antidote to Pope Benedict, the tightly wound and legalistic predecessor and German Pope, and it seemed to have worked out well.  He comes from Italian lineage, but is from Argentina, which has been a good thing for connectedness between the RC church and Latin America.  Comparatively speaking, he has been a humble Pope who has a handle on the fact that people are fallible and not fire and brimstone robots.  With this being local news here, I'm fairly up to date on what's going on.

Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, and, clearly, he was not able to participate in the publicly held religious observation.  Even though he's resting okay, it doesn't look good as he's had a lot of setbacks.  I'm holding good thoughts.

Me too….He has done a good job.

A little church is a good thing- it keeps me off social media for a while.

Getting quite wild out there now……

I'm way less planted than you are, and I won't be buying for a while.  It used to be, "Which GM sedan or coupe do I buy?" "Have they successfully been using that same powertrain for a while?"

Now there are so many more variables, even if just considering purchases in the U.S.

A babied, low mileage reputable older sedan from Mabel in Missouri might be a good option.

At this point I’m running the Trax/ Equinox into the ground. And on the hunt for a beater for myself ( to replace the Cobalt that got hit head on last year) and one for my son.

Nothing new for a while over here…….

More 25 equinox pics - Chevy got the packing right; size is amazing...nice and large inside.  MUCH improved interior.  Wider, more leg room, seemingly more headroom, nice trunk.  And the inevitable half a dozen places to put your phone.  Drove a traverse with the new shifter, I think people will like the new shifter a lot (although I still dig having a console shifter for a seden or more sporty car).

Might consider another Nox if they find something besides the 1.5 for it. It really needs a hybrid/ bigger engine in there…..

  4. Dated yes, but you have to ride in one to understand why folks buy them. Much like the Ford Flex. They are a comfy ride to get you where you want to go. Used to enjoy the rides in my Aunt’s and a good buddy going places in them. It’s too bad they couldn’t do more with these. At least to me, they will be missed…..

  5. Having a Nox- I hated the look at first. But the more I look at it, it is growing more on me. Rugged look gives some cred against the Bronco Sport. The 1.5 will do for now, but they should add another engine sooner than later. Hybrid would be wise too. CVT requires care, or they don’t last. Just ask Nissan. Hoping all models are getting the roof racks, especially with the more rugged look. I really do like the inside of the Nox though….

  6. Think they simply had to many, and too much costs for upkeep on the Teslas. Also curious to see how many are rented as well. I imagine there is a little bit of fear there too.

I think they would like a larger variety, preferably ones with less cost of upkeep. Renting these are the best way folks can see how they work. Slowly but surely there will be more…..

  7. I wish I could say well about the last Mali, but I haven’t been a fan of it since its last refresh. The 1.5 in this sucks- my Equinox with the same 1.5 doesn’t sound like it has a struggle sometimes to get up to speed. Worse off- they barely changed anything. At minimum, they could have passed the savings on to the consumer. Could have kept t around longer with some discounts….

With car getting even more expensive, they are going to wish they had more options than the Trax to offer to very cash strapped customers……….
