  1. I intended to purchase a 2010 Allure CXL as soon as they became available in the Greater Toronto Area. They are showing up at dealers now and I have examined seven vehicles. They all have the same interior defect, the left side of the instrument panel is installed about 1/8"- 3/16" too high and does not line up with the door trim. This may appear to be minor but I know it will bug me and I have put the purchase on hold. Other design features that I am prepared to live with are; large A pillars, small greenhouse for rear seat passengers, fuel filler on the right side, poor instrumentation and poor placement of some controls. I do not think Lexus has to worry about the Allure/LaCrosse taking sales away from prospective Lexus buyers.
  2. The event was very well run. The rain stopped when the event opened at 10:00 AM. There were two Camaros available. A long lineup soon developed for the Camaros. I was only there for about half an hour and it appeared only the Camaros and the Allure were being driven.
  3. The interior is excellent, high quality materials. It would require extensive review of the manual to operate the somewhat complex electronics. However, I am 74 years old and I think I can handle it.
  4. I test drove a 2010 Buick Allure CXL on July 11, 2009 at the GM Canada test drive program at the Bramalea City Centre Mall. My reactions are as follows: The exterior fit and finish was excellent. The only glitch I noticed with the interior fit and finish was the intrument panel was installed about 1/8 inch too high on the left side so it does not line up with the door trim. Oddly, my 2008 Allure has the same problem. The body structure appears to be very ridgid with good ride and handling characteristics. Steering is good. The powertrain is very smooth. In my opinion this car looks much better in a dark colour rather than light. It was midnight blue. The one I saw at the car show was silver. THe interior was ebony which seemed too dark for the dark blue exterior. I think titanium interior would be a better choice. The fuel filler door on the right side is apppropriate for RH Drive vehicles not LH Drive. When I buy my 2010 Buick Allure it will be my 26th new car, 22 of which have been GM products.
  5. Except for the placement of the portholes I like the new Allure/LACrosse inside and out. Perhap a member familiar with Photoshop could do the following modifications and post a picture: 1. Remove the portholes from the top of the hood and add Enclave type portholes on the side of the hood similar to the Enclave. 2. Add a bold silver/chrome pinstripe on the sides following the sweeping spear profile. Gord.
  6. Try replacing the PCM fuse.
  7. I am sure it is far more complicated than any of us care to understand er at least me. It seems to me the problem is much more serious than a leaking or poping out windshield. Dealers can replace or repair almost any component in a vechicle. By process of elimination, I suspect not all of the welds were completed when the body was assembled, perhaps in the windshied area. 2005 Buick Allure CXL
