  3. I thought the same thing after writing that. Accidenti! Che mente sporca che hai!
  4. It´s nice. I don´t think it looks like an Impala. I am worried about all the blind spots that less glass is creating. I was also expecting MPG to be about 5 mpg higher. I´m cheap, you know.
  5. Not a chance. I have foibles of other varieties to report on. Heal soon, B, I once broke 3 metacarpals running to catch a light rail train in Portland and taking a fall ... and had to go to hand therapy. Fortunately, it was my left hand.

  8. TYD and other Canadians: Happy belated Canada Day (July 1)Spent the 4th on Portugal´s beautiful island of Madeira...today, I island hopped over to the Canaries (which belong to Spain). Not too homesick....yet. Hope everyone had a pleasant and safe 4th.
  9. ENJOY!!!
  10. Some successful people´s kids are such pills. I guess they feel they can´t fill their parents´shoes, so they act out and act like jerks. In the slammer like Paris, I say!
  11. Obrigado, senhor! Now on Gran Canaria Island and I´ve got not one but TWO Madeira stories for you! Outra vez!
  12. Thanks.AND THANKS !!!
  13. I don't mind it. I like the GM badge. Heck, Fords and Chryslers carry some manufacturer badge. Some cars have too little of it, especially on the interior. Nowhere inside a GP or a LaX, for instance, does it say what the car is. Not even the make, for that matter, except for the emblem on the steering wheel horn pad. We could actually use a little more. Also: I tend to dislike cursive labeling...even on a Cadillac.
  14. The same way I'd like to hear YOU sing in German. But then, maybe not!
  15. But please don't become too grundlich as a result of excessive Teutonic exposure.
  16. Thanks for this info. I will then skip it in the future. I really only like Italy, Spain and Portugal since I can speak the languages and (hopefully) avoid trouble. Greece is nice, though....food and beaches...drool. Remember: NO wallets in back pockets...EVER!

  18. Exactly. Exactly. That is the line they use. If by about the 4th or 5th question, they ask you where you work or what you do, it's MULTI-LEVEL. I would never in a million years "do business" with the mediocre people that would flock to such a thing, but they don't differentiate because they themselves don't get it. I am no longer nice. I go off on them, especially when they insult my intelligence. One nerdy guy (who looked like Mr. Magoo) and his dumpy wife used to make a circuit of the bookstore/cafes in the Sacramento area. They even hit on a Muslim couple who told me what they were up to and didn't buy into it. I then saw them talking to a younger couple they had nothing in common with in an aisle of books. I had a notebook, as I was studying. I opened it to a blank page and wrote AMWAY. I walked through the aisle and held it up behind Mr. Magoo's head so this young couple could see it. They nodded and smiled. I closed it right away so Magoo and fatty couldn't see it. What's sad is that they ruin people's enjoyment of places such as B&N, Borders and Starbucks.
  19. JUST SAY NO! as Nancy Reagan would have said. If that doesn't work, JUST SAY "f@#k YOU." (Pardon my French)Sorry, but I categorically hate anyone who is into these kinds of things. When I first moved into Portland after architecture school, this guy and his wife would always talk to me at the gym. They were in the same line of work as me. They talked about other business opportunities and wanted to meet for lunch. It turned out to be Amway and not our line of business. I was furious. In fact, since Pacific Northwesterners are such unfriendly assholes where the natives don't take to the transplants, compared to Californians, in my estimation, I came to learn that too friendly of a come-on at Barnes and Noble or elsewhere in the NW was typically Amway. It´s like mega-church evangelism for people who can't think for themselves. Also, a skill or professional license is a "barrier to entry." We know from basic Economics 101, when there is no barrier to entry, markets become overcrowded and profits are thinned out. But tell this to the idiotic morons who take to pyramid schemes.
  20. Right you are. It is primarily the first, given the triangular shape of the island. Then, that symbol of the 3 legs sticking out of a head...that's the Trinacria icon as well. I love that place, but the people are NUTS!
  21. Birthday greetings to you from Northern Portugal! Enjoy your day, if this isn't already belated!

  24. I agree. I think that a few awkward things in the car could have been designed out or designed differently with the stroke of a pen and it might have been a little more successful. I like the Monte Carlo and am saddened by the closing of this chapter. Interesting to think that every last one of the lower 4 GM divisions had a rear drive coupe in the 80s that sold like hot cakes yet the market no longer has room for even one model. Yes, there are plenty 2006 and 2007 Montes still on the lots. The thing is that most of the colors and trims are not good. Charcoal with a grey interior, wheel covers and no option package doesn't cut it, even at $ 19,999.
